Nangong Lin had bet one hundred million.

Mylene put down fifty million.

Pixie wagered fifty million.

Sachiel staked fifty million.

Snowy contributed ten million.

Rakshasa offered five million.

Xina added 1.6 million.

Yunuen gave fifty thousand.

Little Fairy chipped in ten thousand.

The total came to a staggering 266.66 million!

They had all placed heavy bets on Yae-hime! Even Yunuen and Little Fairy, whose financial situations weren’t exactly great, had scraped together their last reserves to chip in!

“Master, your odds just dropped by 0.5!” Little Blue said in mild surprise.

“That’s expected.” With over two hundred million flooding in, it’d be strange if the other side didn’t react at all.

“Wow, your friends are real rich ladies,” Little Blue traced the source and immediately understood what had happened. That 266.66 million had all been funneled under Nangong Lin’s name.

“Master! The odds bounced back to seven-to-one!” Little Blue exclaimed excitedly as she watched the update.

“Maybe they’ve already investigated the relationship between Nangong Lin and me,” Yae-hime replied coolly.

“Heh, do they really think that rich lady is brainless?” Little Blue chuckled.

“Hardly. They’re probably assuming Nangong Lin just wanted to show me some support this way. After all, for the Nangong family, tossing two or three hundred million is no big deal.” Yae-hime explained calmly.

“The power of a rich woman’s wealth, how terrifying!” Little Blue feigned a shocked expression. In truth, if she wanted money, she could generate astronomical figures with ease.

But Yae-hime had forbidden her from using those methods to make money.

“How are those two little ones doing?” After replying to Nangong Lin and the others, Yae-hime suddenly asked.

“Vera 1 and 3? I gave them two steamed buns two hours ago,” Little Blue replied, tapping a virtual screen. With a swish, the space before them returned to normal.

“Just buns?” Yae-hime asked.

“Yep. Their attitude wasn’t exactly nice,” Little Blue said, shrugging.

“Let’s go take a look.” With that, Yae-hime took a step forward, her long legs moving gracefully.

Little Blue waved toward Vera 2, 17, and 18 in the distance. The four little ones quickly fell in behind Yae-hime.

“Ugh, I’m so hungry. I’m going to die…” In the guest room, Vera 1 lay on the floor, clutching her stomach in pain. She had eaten a bun earlier, but it had only made her hungrier and more miserable.

On the other side, Vera 3 leaned weakly against the wall, face pale, eyes dull and unfocused, she looked half dead. She knew clearly: if she hadn’t eaten that bun, she could’ve held out much longer. But once she had tasted food, the hunger within her had completely lost control.

Now her body and mind were both suffering immensely!

**Tap, tap, tap!**

Just then, footsteps echoed from outside the room. The two of them tensed up immediately, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.

After going hungry all day, they had personally experienced just how terrifying that demon was. No, not just that one, there was also that little demon, who was equally horrifying!

With just two buns, they had been pushed into such a miserable state. Thinking about the crueler torments that might be coming next, Vera 1 and 3’s little faces turned even paler.

“Sniff… smells good… something smells amazing!” Vera 1 suddenly said excitedly, sniffing the air.

Hearing that, Vera 3 sniffed as well, and her stomach let out a thunderous growl. She could tell instantly, it was the scent of roast chicken!

At that moment, the hunger within them was fully awakened.

The door opened, and that rich aroma surged in, intoxicating and irresistible. Vera 1 and 3, like soulless zombies, automatically began crawling toward the doorway.

“Hehehe, want some?” A pleasant voice rang out, snapping their attention back to the present.

Looking up, they saw that demon standing in the doorway, holding a tray in both hands. On it were two steaming, fragrant roasted chickens.

**Gulp!**

Even though they were terrified, they couldn’t help but swallow hard, eyes filled with longing. A deep, desperate hunger for those two roast chickens.

“Do you want to eat? Do you want to taste this delicious honey-roasted chicken?” The demon’s voice rang out once more. There was a strange, seductive quality to her tone. As if simply obeying her would grant them anything they desired, including those two roasted chickens.

“I—I’m not eating your food!” Vera 1 barely clung to her last shred of reason and shouted with all her might, using every ounce of strength she had. But her voice was feeble and weak, nothing like her usual self.

“I…” Vera 3 wavered violently inside, unsure of how to respond.

“Don’t want to eat?” The demon, Yae-hime, retracted her smile. “Then go ahead and stay hungry. Keep starving until you fall into despair.” As soon as she finished speaking, she turned and made it seem as if she was about to leave.

Seeing this, Vera 1 and 3 looked like helpless souls on the verge of being swallowed by darkness. They stared at the last sliver of light and cried out in unison, “Don’t go!”

Yae-hime immediately stopped in her tracks and turned around to look at them, a radiant smile blooming on her face.

Little Blue and Vera 2, 17, and 18 all poked their heads out to peer at Vera 1 and 3. Sinister smiles curled across their faces.

Seeing those smiles, the sisters felt their scalps tingle and their hearts sink. It was as though they’d accidentally fallen into the depths of hell, face-to-face with a horde of terrifying demons!

“It’s not impossible to get food,” Yae-hime said, retracting her smile. “Pledge your loyalty to me. I mean real loyalty.”

“Real loyalty?” Vera 1 asked nervously. The moment she had called out to stop Yae-hime, she knew there was no going back. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

“What kind of loyalty?” Vera 3 asked. She seemed to have already made up her mind.

“Before that, let me tell you the price of betrayal,” Yae-hime said calmly. “The first time, since it was your first offense, I let you go with just one day of no food. The second time, it’ll be seven days. The third time, forty-nine days. And as for a fourth time… sorry, there isn’t one.”

Hearing this, Vera 1 and 3’s eyes widened. Their pupils contracted, and their hearts lurched violently. They might barely survive a second betrayal. But the third time… they would absolutely die.

‘No! I don’t want to starve to death! I absolutely don’t!’ Vera 1 hugged her arms tightly, her body trembling uncontrollably. Just one day of hunger had already pushed her to the brink of despair.

“I—I will never betray you!” Vera 3, usually the calm and composed one, hurried to assure her.

“Very good. Vera 3, come here and swear your oath.” Yae-hime extended her smooth, fair, flawless bare foot with great satisfaction.

Vera 3 blinked her big eyes, her expression filled with confusion as she looked at that overly beautiful jade-like foot, ‘What does this mean?’

Vera 1 was equally baffled.

“Master wants you to lick her foot as proof of your loyalty,” Little Blue floated over, grinning cheekily.

“Lick her foot?!” Vera 1 looked as if she had just suffered the ultimate humiliation. She nearly jumped up in outrage. Unfortunately, she didn’t have the strength left to make such a dramatic move.

On the other side, two tears slipped from the corner of Vera 3’s eyes. Then, with a pained expression, she said, “I’ll do it!”
