Reborn as a Transcendent-Chapter 705Book 3: : The Might of the Sword Formation
At that moment, everyone present felt an incredibly sharp aura. It was as if their entire nervous system had been pricked by needles, bringing a rush of exquisite, tingling pain.
Though the attack had yet to be unleashed, the terrifying prelude alone filled the crowd with dread and terror. Yet what came next was even more horrifying. The surrounding scenery distorted the instant the sword fell, as ripples spread outward at incredible speed. The entire world seemed to warp and twist!
Whether it was the players outside the Mangrove Forest or the viewers watching the livestream, they were all overwhelmed by an indescribable shock.
The sword landed with a sound. It was like striking something solid, yet to some, it looked as if the sword had plunged into water, sinking into the ground. At the same time, the sharp sword aura carved an enormous circle into the earth around it.
Within the circle, golden light flickered as formation patterns rapidly emerged. That piercing aura intensified, like countless sharp blades slashing viciously across everyone’s skin.
Pain. An indescribable pain. There were no visible wounds, yet it felt worse than being torn apart.
Before this phantom pain had even faded, a clap of thunder rang out, shaking their ears. The skies changed color! Ferocious winds swept across the battlefield, lightning cracked, thunder roared, and the ground trembled, like the end of the world had arrived!
It was the first time the livestream audience had witnessed such a terrifying ultimate move. Their scalps tingled as they trembled with excitement.
But no—this was only the prelude!
The viewers were stunned. The players on-site, however, were seized with fear. The chilling dread of imminent death! Run. They had to run immediately. Staying here meant certain death!
Some players attempted to log out of the game. Unfortunately, it was already too late. A terrifying divine force suddenly enveloped the entire area, pinning everyone down, including the rampaging shadow beast, rendering them completely immobile.
The scent of death quietly filled the air.
“Activate!” Within the formation, Yae-hime let out a soft command. In that instant, the formation was fully activated, unleashing a surge of metallic essence and ancient power.
The next moment, the golden energy transformed into countless blades, wildly rampaging within the array.
Even through the virtual screen, S.K.Y. and Taurus could feel that bone-chilling aura of ultimate slaughter.
S.K.Y. was instantly reminded of the time he was killed by this exact move, it was far more painful than a thousand cuts. It was as if his body and soul had been shredded into thin strands and thrown into a pot of boiling oil! That kind of pain was impossible to forget for a lifetime.
‘Kill her. I swear I’ll kill her!’ Clenching his fists, S.K.Y. trembled uncontrollably. His pupils flickered between red and black, an eerie sight.
Beside him, Taurus stared at the livestream screen, so excited he nearly burst into song on the spot. “She did it, she did it! She finally used her ultimate! The Black-Hearted Princess’ cooldown is gone!”
At those words, S.K.Y. snapped back to reality. His eyes returned to normal as he sneered coldly, “Heh… This time, she’s dead for sure!”
Forcing Yae-hime to unleash the Ancient Celestial Sword Formation was the most crucial part of their plan. They intended to use those cannon fodder players to wear down her strongest move.
“Annihilate!” At that moment, that detestable Black-Hearted Princess was finally about to release her ultimate attack.
Within the sword formation, every player was stricken with sheer terror as the claws of death pierced their bodies, flooding them with despair.
The first golden blade of essence flashed. Immediately after, golden brilliance filled the skies and space trembled violently! If what came before had felt like the apocalypse descending, this was the apocalypse arriving in full.
At least, it was the end for these players.
The swords of golden essence burst forth like a torrential storm, shredding the players’ bodies into thousands of pieces in an instant. More accurately, now they were experiencing exactly what S.K.Y. had felt. That unbearable torment of body and soul being destroyed at once, worse than death itself!
The whole process seemed to last only a second, and yet, it also felt like an eternity.
In the livestream chat, no comments appeared. It was utter silence. The viewers were all deeply shaken by the terrifying power of the sword formation, left in speechless awe. After all, nearly ten thousand players were completely annihilated in the blink of an eye by a single technique. It was beyond terrifying!
“They… they’re all dead…” Mira stared unblinking at the livestream, feeling as if a magnitude twelve earthquake had just struck her soul.
Those players were all at least level ten or above. And yet they were completely obliterated in mere moments, without even leaving corpses behind!
She had long heard that the Black-Hearted Princess possessed a terrifying ultimate move, but she never imagined it would be this terrifying.
“Until our guild reaches a certain level of strength, we must absolutely avoid crossing her. Otherwise, just one encounter could wipe us all out!”
The current livestream screen was flickering with white and gold light, making it nearly impossible to see what was happening inside. Even so, Mira could faintly make out the shadowy figure of the dark beast still trapped within the formation. That made her even more curious about what would follow during the “garbage time” phase.
Unfortunately— After exterminating all the players, the golden essence blades pierced straight through the shadow beast’s body, swiftly ending its life.
“Even that sturdy beast only survived half a second longer… The Ancient Celestial Sword Formation is truly terrifying!” Mira couldn’t help but suck in a cold breath.
Just then, the livestream feed went black. No one around the world could see what happened next.
“So tired…” In-game, Yae-hime let out a soft breath. Her face was pale, her body feeling utterly drained by the sword formation. “I can only sustain it for a few seconds at most right now.”
There was no denying it, Ancient Celestial Sword Formation was as powerful as it was draining.
“The quality of the Dragon Abyss Sword: Dragonsorch really is extraordinary. It only lost 10 points of durability.” Looking at the peculiar blade still burning with flame in her hand, Yae-hime nodded with satisfaction.
If each use broke a sword, the cost of this move would be way too high. Even with vast wealth, she wouldn’t be able to afford it. Let alone now, when she was broke.
As she looked around, Yae-hime’s eyes sparkled.Because she saw gear scattered all over the ground. Common, uncommon, and rare equipment, at least two or three thousand pieces in total.
Even though most of it was standard gear and not very valuable… With such a large amount, it still amounted to a sizable profit. What’s more, she could even enhance some of it slightly before selling to earn even more.
“Good thing most of it’s standard gear. Otherwise, my backpack and storage ring wouldn’t be able to hold it all.”
Identical equipment could be stacked in the inventory, which saved a lot of space.1
Retracting her gaze, Yae-hime checked her mana. Only a little more than ten points remained. The sword formation had nearly drained her dry.
“Heh… And they thought I didn’t know what kind of schemes they were cooking up? Truly laughable.” She chuckled softly and pulled out Ocean’s Tears from her spatial ring, instantly restoring her mana.
At almost the same moment, violent tremors shook both the interior of the Mangrove Forest and the surrounding plains.
“Taurus, S.K.Y., let me see what you’ve got.” Yae-hime was rather fond of these two walking piggy banks.
She stabbed her sword into the ground and struck a weak pose, pretending to be exhausted, waiting for them to strike. However, before Taurus and S.K.Y. could make their move, the system notification beat them to it.2
Ding!
