Everyone turned toward the source of the sound. In the next instant, they saw two black shadows darting forward at lightning speed. At that moment, only Yae-hime and the Fifth Apostle could vaguely make out the true forms of those shadows.

They were blades—terrifying blades sharp enough to rend through space itself! A suffocating sense of death washed over everyone present. The seven black-clad figures remained motionless, as if waiting for death to claim them.

Actually, it wasn’t that they didn’t want to move. They simply couldn’t. It was far too fast. Within the blink of an eye, the two shadows reached them. A cold gleam flashed through the air.

An incredibly sharp aura erupted in that instant! At the same time, the Fifth Apostle moved— she moved with every ounce of her strength. But her face was already twisted with terror. Her body froze in midair. It was as though time itself had come to a complete halt.

Only those two black shadows continued to move freely within that suspended world. In a heartbeat, they sliced cleanly through the black-clad figures’ bodies, then flickered past the Fifth Apostle like ghosts.

*Boom!*

A heartbeat later, time and space resumed their natural flow. Eight heads toppled to the ground like ripe fruit, necks turning into crimson fountains that gushed forth bright blood.

“Lili!” Yae-hime followed the returning trajectory of those shadows and saw a small, adorable figure landing gracefully. In her hands, she caught two spinning weapons— a pair of pitch-black chakrams.

The moment Yae-hime spoke, a series of dull thuds echoed. The Fifth Apostle and the seven coffin-bearers collapsed to the ground, lifeless. In the span of a single breath, battle power equivalent to 26.5 Luckys had been completely obliterated by Lili.

Such overwhelming strength left her utterly dumbfounded. The Fifth Apostle’s head rolled a few times before stopping, her face frozen in despair and disbelief. Even in death, she could not comprehend how she had just finished buffing herself, only to die immediately after.

“Phew.” Lili slipped her twin chakrams back into her ring and exhaled softly. A deep weariness spread across her delicate face. It wasn’t because killing those people had drained her. For her, killing humans of that level was no harder than slaughtering chickens.

What truly exhausted her was the journey itself— a desperate, full-speed dash without rest.

“So you really were in Aoma Village.” Seeing Yae-hime standing there unharmed, Lili finally revealed a relieved smile.

“It’s been a while, but… you don’t look so good,” Yae-hime remarked, sheathing the Sword of Eternity as she strode toward her. On the way, she casually picked up the Holy Spirit Shard that had fallen beside the Fifth Apostle and tucked it into her ring.

“I came because there’s something urgent!” Lili said anxiously as she blinked next to Yae-hime.

Perhaps because she had been too worried about Alicia, she failed to notice a stone at her feet. Her toe caught on it as she stepped forward, sending her tumbling straight into Yae-hime’s arms, who quickly caught her.

“Your condition’s worse than I thought.”

“I—I’m fine!” Lili protested, her cheeks flushing a faint red. She tried to pull away, but after hesitating for a moment, decided it might be better not to. Besides, she really wasn’t in good shape.

After Alicia’s accident the previous night, Lili had rushed all the way back from the Phantabeast Range to Jade City to seek Allie’s help. Then, without resting, she had immediately sprinted at full speed to Aoma Village to find Yae-hime, their only remaining hope.

Such exertion had drained her to the extreme.

“I’ll help you recover some strength.” Yae-hime swiftly formed a green needle between her fingers and, before Lili could respond, gently pricked it into her back.

At first, Lili felt a faint sting. Then, a powerful surge of life energy began to pour continuously into her body. Moments later, the exhaustion that had weighed her down completely vanished. Her entire being now brimmed with vitality, her face radiant and full of life.

“Amazing…” she murmured softly in disbelief, her cheek brushing against Yae-hime’s soft, fragrant body.

Even the highest-grade stamina potions couldn’t completely dispel fatigue like this.

(Princess… she’s unbelievable…)

Breathing in that pleasant scent, Lili suddenly felt the urge to close her eyes and rest.

“No—no sleeping!” she suddenly cried out, startling Yae-hime.

“What’s wrong?” 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

“Alicia—something’s happened to her!” Lili broke free from Yae-hime’s hold and looked up at her anxiously. “Right now, only you can save her!”

To her surprise, Yae-hime didn’t even look shocked. It was as if she had already known the result of the test before seeing the teacher’s grading, she had scored a perfect hundred, exactly as expected.

There was no surprise, no thrill, not even the slightest ripple in her heart.

(Alicia’s timing really couldn’t be any worse… what a disaster.)

She sighed inwardly, pressing her fingers to her forehead. Of course, Yae-hime cared about Alicia, she was worried, naturally. But that was a separate matter altogether.

“Tell me exactly what happened to her.”

“Alicia, she…” Lili hurriedly explained Alicia’s condition and what had caused it, going over every detail. She also mentioned her trip to Jade City to seek Allie’s help, and the advice Allie had given her.

When Yae-hime finished listening, she and Allie were clearly of the same mind, both wanted to slap some sense into that princess. Because truly, Alicia had made an absolute mess of things. She had turned a winning hand into total ruin.

“She must’ve been possessed by a star of calamity,” Yae-hime said softly. Even if one absorbed too much of the earth’s energy, it normally wouldn’t cause serious harm. You only needed to stop in time. But Alicia had lost complete control, she couldn’t stop even if she wanted to.

“……” Lili had no words. After all, Alicia’s condition did seem no different from being possessed by misfortune itself.

“Don’t worry. It’s not that serious, I can cure her.” Yae-hime patted Lili’s head gently, her voice soothing.

“Really?” Lili grasped her hand, her eyes wide with hope.

“Really. Have I ever lied to you?” Yae-hime smiled, her lips curving into that calm, confident grin. That beautiful smile nearly melted Lili’s heart. “I’ll finish up here first, then we’ll go together. Don’t worry, Alicia won’t be in danger for now.”

Yae-hime’s gaze drifted to the Apostle lying on the ground as she spoke quietly.

“Mhm!” Hearing that Alicia could be saved, Lili finally relaxed. The tension in her body eased, and the heavy weight pressing on her heart began to lift.

Alicia’s situation was serious, yes—but not yet fatal. Besides, they needed to make preparations before heading back. They couldn’t just run to the Phantabeast Range together without rest. Yae-hime’s stamina wouldn’t hold up that long.

(Though… if I carried her princess-style all the way back, that wouldn’t be impossible…)

As that thought crossed her mind, a faint blush bloomed over Lili’s normally cool and cute face.

Yae-hime, of course, had no idea what was going through her head. She was busy cleansing the battlefield with green fire, erasing every trace of what had happened. Once the cleanup was done, the two went to the church warehouse to briefly explain the situation to Layna and the others.

Then, they had Angelica arrange for a high-speed beast carriage headed toward the Phantabeast Range. For safety, Yae-hime didn’t tell the driver their true destination. Their plan was to disembark nearby and continue the journey on foot.

When preparations were complete, the beast carriage rolled out of the village, sped onto the main road, and raced toward the distant horizon.

Under that same sky, the teleportation array inside Jade City’s fortress suddenly flared with brilliant white light, revealing hundreds of mysterious figures clad in white robes threaded with gold.
