Chapter 125: Ch 125: Power Plant- Part 3

’He left far too quickly. I do not have a good feeling about this.’

Thief was an extreme person who could do anything for his ideals. So the fact that he had left so easily after showing such desperation made Andrew feel a little uneasy.

"He will be back for sure. I do not trust his kind of person. He is willing to stoop as low as needed in order to fulfil his goals."

Thief did give that kind of impression, and even Andrew agreed with him. But at the same time, it was not something he could worry about and keep an eye on all the time.

"For now, we should get our power supply back running. Can you take a look at it?"

Andrew asked, and Emperor nodded. He kneeled down and immediately cursed as he realized why Thief had become so calm.

"Those fuckers...they took the core of this machine. Without it, it would become impossible for us to operate this facility..."

Emperor raged as he looked at the rest of the supply. Small parts here and there were missing, but the core was the most important aspect.

"Should I go after them and retrieve the core? I will make their deaths swift and careful."

Seraphina asked as she gripped her sword tighter. She was also getting affected by Emperor’s bad mood.

’Tsk, these two are truly a match made in hell. How can two level-headed individuals fall to their anger so fast?’

Andrew asked himself, but he had no answer for it. Still, focusing on the current situation was much more important than going after someone else.

"It’s fine. If it is a part we need for it, then we can look for it in a warehouse or something. I doubt anyone would have thought to steal it."

Food and luxurious items were something people ran toward as soon as the games began, but machinery was left untouched for the most part. It was not an essential tool for anyone’s survival, after all.

So it would be relatively easy for them to find what they needed...or at least he hoped so.

"Fine, let’s go. It’s not like I can get this place up and running without those parts."

Emperor sighed, and they headed toward the city. But before that, Andrew made sure to add this power station to his list of base facilities. That way, the barrier’s protection would also expand to it.

No one would be able to get into the power station, much less use it, without his permission now.

"I will go and look for the parts myself and repair the power station. You should head back and tell the others what happened."

Emperor advised, and they split up.

Andrew and Seraphina returned home and quickly informed the others of what had happened. As expected, no one looked happy with the outcome.

"What the hell...how could these ’Peace Organization’ people go around and do this? Are they out of their minds or something...?"

Clara asked, feeling devastated.

She was the one who needed the electricity the most because of her irrigation system. Things could turn disastrous without it...

"Don’t worry. Emperor is on his way to fix things. Let’s wait and see what happens."

Seraphina reminded Clara, and she nodded with a tired look on her face.

"Tsk, I will be calm...this time. But I am not sure how long I will be able to remain calm. My patience is already running kind of thin these days."

Everyone besides Andrew and Seraphina flinched at Clara’s words and wondered how much they would have to suffer under her hand. They were already tired with all the farm work...but if they had to add irrigation on top of it...

"No way-! I cannot take it anymore. Andrew, do something about the situation."

Jenna cried out, and her eyes looked at Andrew with a begging expression, telling him to do something...anything about the situation.

"I have already taken measures against Thief. It should be enough...for now."

"What the heck is this barrier? I cannot enter this place."

Queen raged as she brought her ice sword down on top of the barrier. But it refused to break under pressure, causing her to become even more agitated.

Her hands had turned red and cold due to the constant use of her power, but she did not care. She only had one purpose in her life-to follow Thief’s command.

And Thief was currently looking at her with an almost disappointed look in his eyes. It made her try even harder to open the gate in front of her.

But unfortunately, it just would not open for her.

"Queen, you should stop wasting time now. This is made with the system’s power. I doubt we will be able to open it, no matter how much effort we put in."

Mandarine reminded her, only to immediately feel the full force of Queen’s glare.

"Shut up-! What do you even know about this? I will get it to open, no matter what-"

"Queen, that is enough. It will be much faster for us to find another power station. I am sure we will have a lot. Besides, I do not want to make an enemy out of Mark Dawson and his party."

Thief told her, and Queen paused immediately. She looked a little betrayed that Thief would ask her to stop, but she did not say anything back to him.

Mandarine sighed as he followed after Thief, and Queen followed. But unlike the other two, Mandarine could not help but be a little doubtful.

"Boss, are you sure we can trust your sponsor? That man did say he could help us break free from the system, but the knowledge he is giving us and the things he is having us perform...It all just feels wrong..."

Mandarine spoke softly, and his eyes furrowed. He was conflicted, but Thief’s confident smile made him feel better.

"My sponsor might feel scummy, but at least he is giving us a way to break free from the system. No other sponsor is even trying anything like this, and I want to try and take this opportunity. But as for trusting...I don’t trust my sponsor a single bit. It’s a give-and-take relationship here, and I am going to take it all."
