"Ohhh, we got a map piece. Did everyone get the same one?"
Clara asked as she looked at her screen and then at Lilianna. They had all gotten the same map which made her feel dejected.
"Ahhh, this is not going to be that easy, huh? I guess I should have expected this.... Alright, I will try to find the next boss."
Clara moaned before she closed her eyes and concentrated to find the next boss. It was giving her a small headache, but this was better than moving around without any aim.
She quickly found another and the team headed toward that. With a similar strategy as the first one, this boss was taken care of as well.
Lilianna noticed Clara’s condition and immediately healed her.
"Well, two done and one more to go. Let’s find the last one as well."
Clara boasted before she closed her eyes and concentrated. She quickly found the last one as well, but there...was something different about this one.
There were more than one presence around, but most of the others looked...dead.
"I found another boss. I think some people ran into it and got trampled to death or something. We better be careful while facing this one."
She told the team and they all nodded before they followed her instructions toward the boss room.
It was a huge arena and unlike the others, there was not a lot of space to hide and launch a sneak attack. A small group of players was trying to fight the monster, but they were failing.
There was a familiar female at the end of the group who Andrew swore he had seen before. But he could not recall who she was exactly.
The female suddenly looked back and her eyes widened when she saw Andrew.
"Y-You... Mark Dawnson...! What are you doing? Hurry up and help us out."
The female yelled, causing others to sigh out in relief once they realized that help was here.
"Mark Dawnson? He’s here?"
"You mean, the person that ranked #1 on the rankings? Finally, we are saved..."
People yelled out in joy but the monster took this chance to launch an attack. Most of the people noticed and avoided it, but a few in front were not so lucky.
"Tsk, this is why I hate weaklings. I better save them before they die here..."
Emperor grumbled before he jumped toward the boss to attract its attention. Lilianna quickly cast support skills on him to help him out.
"I will help the injured and get them to safety. Lilianna, you should take a look at them."
Clara announced as she went ahead and used her abilities to carefully move the people to a safe place.
Andrew did not need to do much since everyone else had already taken their roles. He sat down on a rock not too far away and quickly noticed that someone was glaring at him.
When he looked at who it was, he quickly noticed that it was the same girl who looked familiar but he did not know.
"Is there anything I can help you with?"
Andrew asked without missing a beat. The female looked startled before her eyes started to twitch.
"Can you...help me? What do you mean? Do you recall who I am? Or, are you trying to annoy me on purpose? How can you ask me this question? Me...of all people?"
The female asked, but her words did not make it any more clear who she was in Andrew’s mind.
"And...you are? I won’t have asked if I knew who you were, kid."
That was the breaking point for Jenna. Her expression was one filled with pain and suffering as she quickly snuck her arms around Andrew’s arm to pull it close to her.
"Come on, don’t be like that, Darling~ Weren’t we supposed to get married right before the games started? Don’t tell me that you forgot..."
She tried to make Andrew play along with her.
After all, the person she recalled was a shy one who could not say much in front of her. Of course, she was also aware of his crush on her. But since Mark Dawnson was a stuttering fool, she could never bring herself to like him.
’And then he had the audacity to drop me just when I decided to marry him? Ugh, the nerve. But it will all be fine. I am sure Mark has not gotten over me so quickly. If I play my cards right, I can use him properly now...’
"Tsk, I recall you now. Didn’t I tell you that I did not want to marry you? I thought leaving you alone right before our vows would be more than enough of a message. And I also sent your mother back. Did she not tell you about it all?"
Jenna’s face reddened as she tried to open her mouth and speak. But no words came out of her mouth.
"I...that...how can you say that to me? Did you hit your head somewhere? Otherwise, how can you say that to me of all people?"
Jenna asked with a pale face. She quickly looked around to see if anyone else had noticed Andrew’s words or not, but it was too late. Most people were looking at her with questioning glances.
It was clear that she had been caught up in her own lie.
’No, I cannot give up now. I need to convince everyone that Mark still likes me. Only then will they respect me and listen to me...’
"Aww, you are so shy. I know you want to keep me safe and that is why you are trying to push me away. Since that’s the case, I guess I have no choice. I will back off for now until you are ready to come back to me."
Jenna giggled, not allowing anyone else to get a single word in. She knew how to manipulate the situation in her favor and Mark’s lack of words only encouraged her to keep speaking.
She was about to sprout even more nonsense when Lilianna decided she could not hear anymore and decided to walk up to Andrew and sneak her arms around him instead.
"Excuse me, Miss. I don’t know or care who you are, but would you mind backing off? You are making my boyfriend uncomfortable. Just because he has not said anything does not mean you get a free pass to harass him like this. Now, please step back a little."
