Reborn As Noble-Chapter 1219: Miss Elf with beautiful eyes ( )
While walking, Garius reached for his mana talkie from his pocket, channeled his mana, and slowly placed it on his right ear.
"Javier..."
A moment of silence passed before a crackle and a crisp, clear voice was heard.
"Yes, Esteemed Father?"
Garius mumbled in a low, calm voice. "Where are you?"
"Ah... I’m inside Mathrias estate now, Esteemed Father."
"Hmm? Where exactly?" Garius kept walking.
"Err... I don’t know, Father... But I see you from here."
"Hmm..." Garius exhaled. "Stop playing around and meet me at the war room in the temporary building."
"Okay, Father. Is it serious?"
Garius exhaled. "More serious and more trouble... for you."
"I understand, Esteemed Father." Javier said in a low voice. "I will meet you there shortly."
"Mm... Good. Don’t be late."
"I won’t, Father." Javier tapped his mana talkie and glanced around, his mana tablet still in hand.
Sigh... I wonder what kind of trouble awaits this time?
I just finished saving Gracelle from the curse parasite and completed the surgery. Thank God she’s stable now. Seeing her able to talk again was such a relief, especially when she started asking for food and water.
And now another trouble just keeps appearing.
First, the mysterious group I saw at Amazarak from the live feed last night.
What caught my interest was their slightly modern weapons and the place that looked like a prisoner camp or slave camp.
Not only that, but the group that made Gracelle suffer.
The Mathrias butler and his people.
I’ve been tracking them since yesterday, but it seems they haven’t reached their destination yet. Well, since they’re still traveling by horse, it might take time for them to arrive. Or perhaps they’re trying to cover their tracks or take a longer, less predictable route.
Well, that’s not a problem for me. No matter how they try to cover their tracks, they won’t be able to hide from the autonomous tracking of my mana satellite view and Sky Eyes live feed.
Javier exhaled.
Damn... I didn’t even finish planning how to crush these criminals, and now... another new problem is coming in like an instant message from a loan shark.
Great... just great.
He continued walking down the hallway.
Those shitheads will be my main focus for now. And the next one is those mysterious groups.
But... I can feel that my priorities will have to shift temporarily.
Especially with how Father’s tone sounded.
I can guess the problem is related to Mathrias anyway.
Since from the Sky Eyes view and the mana satellite, when I checked Mathrias region to find something related to those shitheads, I saw something unnatural, different flags flying over more than half of Mathrias’s territory.
And from the live feed I saw, the movement of the people seemed... uneasy, like the citizens of Mathrias were unhappy or under strain, with soldiers patrolling the streets in numbers.
I still don’t have the full information yet, but I did see some groups, estimated around a thousand, probably soldiers, wearing slightly different uniforms from Mathrias soldiers, carrying those flags and what looked like old cannons.
Two areas were fighting a war, and one side looked like they were trying their best to hold their garrison, while the other side was firing with those Human Kingdom cannons.
Sigh...
This must be the important thing that will make me shift my priorities and hold off on other matters until this is resolved.
Man... I guess I should just deal with it. So everything can start over, rebuild, restore order, and make things normal again.
He stepped out from the main door and saw the temporary building in the distance.
Yep.
Guess there’s no way to avoid responsibility.
Time to settle this matter fast.
And then focus on my main mission.
Crush those shitheads, and find out who those mysterious groups of humans are, the ones with different mana signatures.
Meanwhile.
In the next building.
Liana, who was sleepy, was inside the first zone.
She saw Myra already waiting for her.
She narrowed her eyes at Myra.
"What’s the important matter that requires me here?"
"Umm... Miss Liana?" Myra fidgeted while averting her eyes.
"Hmm?" Liana tilted her head in confusion. "What is it, Myra?"
"Could you... umm..." Myra mumbled in a low voice.
"I couldn’t hear what you said, Myra. Just tell me already." Liana grumbled while finishing washing her hands and starting to put on her scrubs and cap.
"Umm... err... could you... please... not..." Myra said softly, her voice trailing off.
"Could I please not what?" Liana asked, her confusion growing.
"Not... release your intimidating aura..." Myra finally whispered.
"Huh? Did I?" Liana looked at her with genuine surprise.
"Mm... y... yes... if you come in with that... the patient might feel suffocated and... you know... die?"
Liana exhaled and shook her head. "I didn’t know I was activating my aura. Perhaps that’s why everyone was acting so strangely around me earlier."
"So?" Liana glanced at Myra after finishing putting on her cap and gloves. "What is it that requires my presence here?"
Myra exhaled in relief once Liana’s aura faded.
"Actually, the patient requested to meet you."
"Huh?" Liana glared hard at Myra. "You asked Kalea to call me... just for that?"
"We... sorry, Miss Liana?" Myra bowed in a rush. "But the patient said she can’t sleep if she can’t meet you."
Liana’s eyes widened in disbelief before letting out a long exhale. "What kind of weird request is that? Since when does a patient need to meet me to sleep? I’m not a lullaby or a teddy bear."
"We don’t know either... but... Miss Liana knows she needs proper rest to recover." Myra mumbled softly. "So we had no choice but to call you."
Liana let out a long, tired exhale. "Fine... let’s go see her then."
Once Liana and Myra reached the room, just as she opened the door, Gracelle’s eyes lit up and gleamed.
"Miss Elf with beautiful eyes!"
"Miss... what?" Liana let out another long, tired sigh.
"Thank you for coming," Gracelle said, feeling happy to see Liana.
Liana shook her head and put both hands in her scrub pockets. "So? Why did you require my presence here?"
Gracelle’s cheeks reddened, and she pulled the blanket to cover her lips while her eyes remained fixed on Liana.
"Umm... I don’t know... but..." she mumbled softly, "I feel... comfortable and relaxed when you’re around... like everything feels safer."
