Chapter 569: Chapter 569: Butterfly Flame Premiere 2

After dropping that line, Sloane Hawthorne mercilessly turned around and walked toward Selena Kensington.

"..."

Silas Sinclair left behind could only sigh helplessly.

And because Sloane Hawthorne’s arrival had taken his original place beside Selena, Sterling Norwood lifted his head and glanced at Silas with disdain.

Couldn’t even hold onto his girlfriend.

Useless.

Selena and Sloane were chatting as they walked, while the two men behind them were locked in a silent battle of glares.

"How have you been lately? Any paparazzi following or secretly snapping pictures of you?"

Selena asked.

Sloane Hawthorne shook his head slightly, "No, Hugh arranged for bodyguards for me, and they’ve been following me these past few days."

Selena nodded.

With bodyguards around, the paparazzi shouldn’t dare to be too brazen.

"However..."

Sloane seemed to have remembered something, a bit helpless.

"At the fashion show venue before, a few socialite ladies insisted on mutually following each other with me."

"..."

Selena was somewhat surprised to hear this from Sloane.

Then she heard Sloane continue, "They told me they were very curious about how I managed to win over Silas Sinclair."

"And they even suggested I write a book... said they were becoming fans of mine."

Selena could hear the helplessness in Sloane’s voice towards the end.

She chuckled lightly.

But the socialite ladies’ approach indeed surprised Selena.

She originally thought that those high-society socialites would pick a fight with Sloane upon knowing, but she didn’t expect it to be so harmonious.

What Selena didn’t know was that Silas had remained single all this time.

Coupled with his aloof and distant demeanor, forbidding all strangers, the socialite ladies had finally given up and found husbands of their own after waiting in vain.

This caused the socialites of the same age as Silas to either become pampered wives or to remain unattached due to having too high of standards.

Now, the high-society socialites were around the same age as Selena.

They didn’t harbor many odd feelings for Silas Sinclair.

Admiration was there, of course, but love, no, they wouldn’t go that far.

They weren’t skilled enough to melt this piece of ice.

So when Silas announced he was Sloane’s boyfriend, those socialites in the fashion circle were the first to know, and then they spread the news within their own circles.

Soon after, most of the high-society socialites knew about it.

They were all very curious about how Sloane managed to win over Silas.

After saying this, Sloane glanced at the people behind.

Selena also turned to look back.

Then she noticed the two men seemingly competing again.

"..."

How childish, still not giving up by now.

Selena was a bit helpless and simply chose not to care.

Sloane continued, "And my brother..."

Hearing Sloane say this, Selena remembered when Jonah Hawthorne first heard the news and immediately called Hugh Kensington to demand an explanation.

"Your brother is strongly opposed?"

She asked.

Sloane remembered how her brother had been ever since he found out she was dating and was at a loss for words.

"I don’t know what his problem is, but he’s always opposed to it, constantly on guard against Silas, and now just a step away from sticking to me like glue."

"If it weren’t for the fact that he needed to resolve a major bug at Starstruck today and couldn’t make time, he definitely would have come along."

Selena laughed a little.

Suddenly, she somewhat understood what Hugh must have felt at the time.

His own sister surrendered so easily without putting up much resistance—what could he possibly say about that?

*

In the theater, Hugh Kensington and Felicity Dalton were already there. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

When Selena entered, she saw Hugh waving at her.

She then walked in his direction.

"Hey, your snacks are all prepared for you."

Hugh pointed to the popcorn and soda in the armrest slot of the chair.

Selena chuckled, "As expected from my good brother."

Hugh rolled his eyes slightly.

Then Selena sat down.

She glanced slightly at Felicity Dalton.

"How is Quinn doing lately?"

Felicity was taken aback, a hint of nervousness flashed in her eyes.

Then she nodded calmly, "Pretty good, thank you for your concern, sister."

Selena smirked slightly, "That’s good, or else Hugh would be worried again."

Felicity glanced at Hugh, just in time to meet his gaze.

She gave a soft smile.

Seeing the interaction between the two, Selena decided not to ask further.

Just as she turned her head, she saw popcorn being offered to her mouth.

Instinctively, Selena opened her mouth and ate it.

Chewing for a bit, she was about to get Sterling Norwood to continue feeding her.

Instead, she noticed Sterling’s fingers stained with her lipstick.

"Pfft..."

Selena couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Sterling didn’t mind and continued to feed Selena.

Selena kept eating.

After a while, she noticed Vivian Sutton entering the theater, dragging Clement Luther with her.

Selena raised an eyebrow, "You two managed to make it too?"

Vivian waved her hand, pulling Clement to sit in the row behind Selena and her group.

"It’s the premiere of your new movie, how could I not come, even if it means skipping my beauty sleep?"

Clement ruthlessly exposed her.

"You were too excited to sleep since the morning because of the premiere."

"...cough, you just know too much, huh!"

Vivian glared at him.

Selena amusedly watched their interaction.

After Vivian and Clement sat down, Vivian leaned over to Selena’s ear and whispered.

"Old Anson came to see me before."

Vivian said.

Selena didn’t speak, so Vivian continued, "He asked me to plead on behalf of Roxanne, possibly unaware of what Roxanne had done before."

"I later told him everything Roxanne did. He understood and didn’t ask me to help her anymore."

Selena nodded.

It was good that Anson Sutton understood.

By not continuing to pester Vivian to help Roxanne, it showed Anson wasn’t completely blindly biased towards Roxanne.

"Alright, now you can let go of your baggage, can’t you?"

Selena smiled.

Vivian smiled and nodded, "Yes, I’ve let go."

After talking with Vivian, Selena turned around to face the front.

After a minute or two, the movie began.

The movie opened with the scene of Paloma Quinn’s Vorlag falling to ruin, followed by scenes set three years later in the Trinleigh of The Valerion Kingdom.

The movie, nearing two hours long, narrated the journey of Paloma and Rhys Kidd from initial manipulation of one another to eventually supporting each other and staying together for life.

During this, it also interwove the lifetimes of Ian Kaye and Quincy Goodman.

From their initial stunning presence to their eventual demise.

The film concluded after running for almost two hours.
