Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 161: Coaxing her
After an eventful trip that ended with Luna Dianna being taken to the hospital. Amelia left with Cyrus right away as the man informed everyone that she wasn’t fit and needed to see a counselor due to anger issues.
Yes. That’s what the king said to everyone. He thought that would make people wary of her, but he didn’t expect his little wife to actually throw a fit the first thing they returned to the Grand Palace.
"Oh, come on, love. You know I didn’t mean it like that. I only have the best for you in mind," Cyrus said, his lips twitching a little as Amelia refused to enter the palace, demanding he apologize for his actions and contact the authorities right away, clarifying things.
Miss Quinn, who didn’t know what happened, walked out, looking between the King and their Princess with furrowed brows.
"Why are you standing there, Princess? You must be tired. Come inside. I’ll prepare a hot bath for you," Miss Quinn said.
Amelia thinned her lips before looking away.
Cyrus suppressed the urge to chuckle at his little volcano, who was exploding with cuteness.
"Come on, love. You need to come inside now. We need to check up on you, too. What if you have internal injuries?" Cyrus tried to coax her, but she didn’t agree. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Fabian informed Miss Quinn about what had happened on the trip, and the lady couldn’t help but sigh in frustration.
Why do these people with high IQs have a sponge’s EQ? Why are they slow in these things?
"Mr. Cyrus, you practically told everyone that your wife is unfit for social interactions when she is in a fit of anger, thus eliminating her chances of having real friends at the University. What do you expect after that?" Miss Quinn asked.
Cyrus looked at Amelia, and when he saw that she didn’t make a move to correct Miss Quinn, he realised that maybe in his haste to bring her back, he had said the wrong words.
"I am sorry, love. I didn’t realise that things would be taken like that. Blame it on my possessiveness when I saw those alphas talking to you, or my obsession with how you should only talk or look at me. I’ll take my words back. But for now, can you come inside? Please?" Cyrus asked.
He walked to her, took her hand, and massaged the back of her knuckles as his gaze forced her to look into his eyes.
Amelia sighed.
"I am not angry at you because you said such words. I worked so hard for you, beat the shit out of that Luna, but you didn’t even keep your end of the promise," she said.
Cyrus narrowed his brows.
What was she talking about? What promise was she...
Cyrus’s pupils dilated. She was talking about the dance.
A smile appeared on his lips before he shook his head at her.
"My dear princess, why are you so cute?" He pinched her cheeks and was about to pull her inside the Grand Palace when they noticed a car coming inside the gates.
From the familiar unique number, it wasn’t hard to guess who had arrived.
They furrowed their brows, waiting for the person to step out of the car.
"Did I come at the wrong time? Are you guys going somewhere?" Grayson asked when he saw Cyrus and Amelia standing outside the palace.
Amora stepped out elegantly, passing a small smile to their grandkids.
"No. Instead, we just returned from somewhere," Cyrus said, and he nodded at Miss Quinn to arrange for snacks and drinks for the elders.
The two of them entered the palace hand in hand, sitting on the couch before the elders.
"You both are here at this time. Is everything alright?" Cyrus asked, holding Amelia’s hand while playing with her bangles.
Grayson smiled at his grandson, who was unknowingly falling deeper in love with his wife, and couldn’t help but sigh when he looked at Amelia.
If only they knew about the destiny that awaited them.
He shook his head to shoo away the negative thoughts.
"Well, I wanted to give the first invitation to the protagonist of the event," Grayson said.
Cyrus leaned forward to grab the invitation card from his grandfather’s hand.
He opened the envelope, reading its contents with a satisfied look on his face.
Amelia peeked over his shoulders, and a smile tugged on her lips.
The event was none other than the crowning ceremony for the king before the entire kingdom’s alphas, who would be invited.
Amelia was about to say that it was terrific when she read the line printed in red about the initiation of the Queen trials.
It wasn’t the fact that they were starting this week, but the fact that it was starting right on her birthday.
The memories from her past life jogged her brain, and she remembered hearing about Grayson’s demise on that day, due to which Cyrus, who had found her, had left her and let her go.
That was the reason he didn’t throw her into the dungeons, because the man was broken inside out.
Tears welled in her eyes as she raised her gaze to meet Grayson’s.
She was so revolved around Hannah and Alpha Killian that she didn’t even know what killed Grayson or if it was a natural death.
She fought the tears before taking a deep breath.
Grayson, who saw her face go from all smiles to ashen, thinned his lips.
He knew the girl was sad about needing to fight for her position in Cyrus’s life when they were already in love with each other. It was like mocking her marriage.
It was unfair to her. But that was the tradition they had been following all along. That was how Luna Queens were chosen.
It wasn’t always the winner. The queen was chosen from the top three. Thus, it was important for Amelia to enter the top three, or people would talk.
"I know it’s saddening to read—" Grayson started, but Amelia interrupted him.
"Grandpa, if you don’t mind, can you live with us this week?" She asked, her question surprising everyone.
Grayson looked at Cyrus as if trying to ask what his wife meant by that question.
Even Cyrus was taken aback by that kind of wish.
"Is something the matter, Princess Amelia?" Grayson asked.
Amelia shook her head.
"You once said that you treat me like your daughter and would be there if I needed you. For the next week, until the queen trials commence and I become the queen, can you stay here before me? I don’t know why, but I feel like being with you would give me strength," Amelia said.
Grayson’s eyes moistened at her words.
Gloria. She was just like Gloria. He took a deep, shaky breath before nodding his head slightly.
"If Cyrus doesn’t have an issue, I would love to," Grayson said.
Everyone turned to look at Cyrus, and the man turned his head towards his wife.
He looked at the soft plea in her eyes and sighed.
"What can I say? I am whipped for her. Look at how she is looking at me. Can I deny it?" He shrugged, and everyone smiled at him, making him smile in return.
