Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 164: Amelia’s real history
Cyrus kept looking at the man, waiting for him to say he was cracking a joke and that he was just messing around with Amelia, but when he didn’t make any such move to clear the tension, he narrowed his brows at him.
"If this is a joke, I don’t appreciate it at all," Cyrus said.
The man, however, unfazed by his dark expression, just smiled.
"Why would I joke about something that is the reality of her existence?" Arnold asked.
Cyrus shook his head. He stood from his seat and grabbed Amelia’s hand.
The woman just looked at him interestingly but didn’t protest against his hold.
"Let’s leave, love. We came here for answers. However, it seems they take your condition lightly. We won’t get any answers here. We should seek the assistance of some Gypsy then," Cyrus said.
He turned around and was about to leave when Arnold held Amelia’s other hand.
"My daughter isn’t going anywhere near those cunning foxes." Arnold held his ground.
Cyrus glared at the man.
"You better leave my wife’s hand," he warned.
Arnold sighed and left Amelia’s hand.
Amelia looked between Arnold and Cyrus before walking back to the dining table.
She sat and started eating as if nothing happening around her botheried her.
"What are you looking at? You have some explaining to do. Do you want us to believe that? I mean, I do, but Amelia won’t," Amelia said.
Arnold nodded.
"I know you have your doubts, and it’s normal. So it started when —" Arnold started.
He told them how they had come to know that the baby who would be appearing in his wife’s womb was the legendary soul gifted by the moon goddess herself and was bound to unlock the mage’s powers that were lost when the magic rock broke into two halves.
They discovered the prophecy relatively late and needed to understand its dynamics to take measures to prevent harm to the baby.
Their mage group has been following the legacy, and perhaps that was the reason his wife was bestowed with this responsibility —to protect the baby.
For that, they needed to put her in a position where she wouldn’t be allowed to recover her mage’s powers before she was of age.
Her life was essential to the entire community.
When she died in her past life, it was due to a possession that had deep animosity with her. That possession had become the bane of the mage’s existence.
Thus, it was essential to shield Amelia from that possession’s influence. They had yet to discover whose evil soul it was, but one thing was for sure: it would return to harm her.
When Scarlett Everleigh was on the run with her father and others because people had discovered her golden blood, it was the Mages’ group that had helped her secure a place in the west and establish their healer empire.
In return, they had asked for one thing only. For Scarlett to help them with one demand.
She was supposed to keep the mage’s baby in her womb along with the son she was pregnant with.
Scarlett promised them that she would protect the baby with her life. When she was drugged with poison, she had used all the mana that she gained from keeping a mage baby in her womb and created a protective shield around Amelia through her wolf’s imaginary powers.
That was the reason Scarlett and her son died, while Amelia was the only one who survived that incident.
He told them how Amelia’s real, biological mother was also someone else, and she was still alive, waiting for the right time to see her daughter.
Cyrus didn’t say anything for some time. It was a hell of a lot to take in. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Amelia is a Mage’s baby with the rare golden blood that she got from Scarlett’s body. But that’s not all. She has a wolf that has been staying hidden inside her, waiting for her to turn eighteen and come over, breaking the chains if Amelia allowed her," Arnold added.
Cyrus gulped.
He took a long, deep breath and looked at Amelia, who looked unfazed by all the information, but his mark told him that she was equally anxious and confused about everything. It was her powers and mark that weren’t letting her take over.
"So why now? You said it was important to protect her until she was of age. Is she of age? Is she ready to take the responsibility now?" Cyrus asked.
Arnold looked at Amelia.
He licked his bottom lip, unsure if he should reveal the main reason why he appeared now.
No. It wouldn’t be alright. The chances were that if he told him that the mages planned on taking Amelia back to their kingdom, away from these wolves and vampires that were starting to roam around her.
"Because that demonic possession had made its presence known around Amelia. You met her, didn’t you?" Arnold asked.
Amelia nodded.
She remembered that day when she was wounded and had gone to the infirmary, only to meet the demonic possession that had possessed the doctor at that time.
"It’s true. She came to meet Amelia at the university a few days ago," Amelia said.
Cyrus raised his brows.
Something of this magnitude happened with Amelia, and he had no idea about it. Just how much was she hiding from him?
Was it all because he said he hated healers with a passion?
A hint of guilt enveloped his heart, and he thinned his lips.
"So what now? What’s the solution? You still haven’t told us anything about the mark. How can she ease the pain?" Cyrus asked, avoiding other things, as even thinking about them felt like a headache.
"The pain will stop when she is loved correctly, when she is respected like she deserves. Once Amelia opens her eyes to her strength, she won’t feel out of it, like someone possessed her. This energy is hers, just trying to protect her dignity and making people respect her," Arnold explained.
Cyrus hummed, looking at the girl who leaned back in her seat, looking all triumphant and smug about the situation.
