Reborn ghost seeing lady is pampered by her ex husband-Chapter 571: Identity of the pure human.
Phoebe made up her mind there and then to read every book or text written on guardians in existence. There was bound to be something that would help her save her daughter's life. She was not one of those people that were willing to sacrifice their children for the good of all mankind.
She was no angel!
Her baby had died once before and that was enough death. She deserved a chance at life too. After composing herself, Phoebe diverted the topic to something else that she was curious about. "The pure human that you were talking about." She raised her finger to stop the spirit from denying that it knew anything. "I saw your face Zephyra, this person does exist, so where is this person? Is it not better if we keep our eyes on him or her?" Questions spewed out of her mouth.
"I will not deny because you know me too well, yes you are right, and you do not have to worry because I am keeping my eyes on them." It confessed swiftly.
"Them....them?" Phoebe parroted the words that caught her interest. "How many of them are there? Holy lord! There is more than one? Who in the world decided to provide Ravana's minions with a buffet of victims to choose from?" She stared at the spirit, unblinking.
"The universe is complicated Phoebe; these things are cycles. The battle of good versus evil never ends, one side wins and things are put on pause while everyone recovers. Many years later, they pick up from where they stopped, that is how it works. As for the pure humans, it is not a buffet, there are two people. Twin girls but again like I said, you do not have to worry yourself, I have my eyes on them." The spirit reassured her.
Not have to worry! Was Zephyra joking around? Of course, she was going to worry because now there was not just one pure human but two. Two humans that Azur and his minions could use to free Ravana. She needed to get her hands on them and make them impure, as selfish as that sounded.
No pure humans, no keys, no supernatural war and no Star being sacrificed for the sake of humanity. Aunt Maureen was right, witches fucking sucked!! Why was her baby--an innocent tied up in all this?
"Shit!" A deep groan grumbled in Phoebe's chest.
"Mother focus on finding the other items that could be used in the sacrifice, they are important as well. Do not forget this." Star advised her.
Phoebe nodded. "Yes, yes, you are right, I hope that Connie and Sylvester who I sent out to inspect magic city artifact shops last night will come back with some good news." She shut her eyes and said a short prayer.
A knock on the door pulled her attention, it was Maria who was informing her that breakfast was served.
"Or do you prefer that I bring yours upstairs." Maria asked when she saw the position Phoebe was sleeping in. One leg was thrown over the back of the sofa and the other was dangling on the side.
It looked like they might need a tanker to move her!
"Do you need me to massage your back Miss Pheebs?" Maria asked.
"That will not be necessary Maria but thanks for offering. And as for breakfast, I will be down in a minute, please make sure that Andre does not eat all the banana carrot muffins like he did last time." Phoebe answered.
"I will fight like a special forces soldier." Maria joked.
"Thank you, Maria." Phoebe lazily raised her hand and waved the maid away.
It took her another six minutes to get up. Once she was
ready, Phoebe went straight to the dining room. Everyone was already sitting at the table and having breakfast. This day's preferred topic of conversation was all about was the academy. Those that had ready been there like Andre described what it looked like.
He had coaxed his aunt into passing by before they went to bed the previous night.
"I don't know why they don't shoot movies in that place; it is like an ancient but modern kingdom hidden away...a world of its own. I still cannot believe that it is just above Salt Lake, I never would have guessed. I have gone kayaking and skiing on that lake hundreds of times and never saw anything out of place." Andre spoke enthusiastically.
Grandma Mayfair's gaze drifted in Maureen's direction. "So how do you transport yourselves to the school, do you just go swimming and vanish? I remember Cillian used to go fishing on the lake for hours." She took a bite of the freshly made whole wheat bun and waited for the answer, chewing slowly.
Pulling her sleeve to reveal the mark on her arm, Maureen's eyes leveled to meet those of her mother. "You just tap on this, chant a spell and a portal like door will appear, there are levels to this mark though depending on your rank. There are places at the academy where ordinary hunters and junior guardians are not allowed to access. You have to work your way up." She elaborated.
"It is not fair." Rekha muttered.
Maureen shrugged, those were the rules.
"So where is father, if everyone is done, we should go now. I cannot wait to see this academy." Phoebe pushed back her chair slightly.
She had only managed to eat two muffins and half a cup of milk. With all the snacks she had in the space, she figured that she would eat later.
Jennie wiped off the grease from her lips. "Oh he is not back yet, Edward spent the night at the academy. He said that he would come back in the morning, but his face is yet to be seen in the house." She informed them.
Disappointment etched on Phoebe's face. "I guess that we have to wait until he gets back." The sparkle in her eyes died out and she decided to continue having breakfast. Maria gave her almond butter oatmeal, and she frowned.
Jennie pushed the oatmeal away and gave her another option, coconut rice porridge which made Phoebe pinch her nose. Maria presented option three, apple cinnamon oatmeal.
"How many meals have you prepared?" Old Lady Mayfair.
"I hired a new chef responsible for cooking for our pregnant women. There must be options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, between the day snacks, drinks and whatever they are craving." Jennie shared. fгeewebnovёl.com
It was not long because Shanna joined the table, and she received the same treatment as Phoebe from Jennie.
"Good morning, sweet sister-in-law." Phoebe greeted her.
"Good morning, Phoebe, I cannot thank you enough for stealing the spotlight at my wedding yesterday. People were focused on your pregnancy that they barely noticed mine." Shanna smiled warmly, offering everyone a greeting.
A chuckle escaped Phoebe. "I am glad that I helped but I think you are wrong, trust me, they noticed. Only that my pregnancy is gossip worthy as I am unmarried and living in sin as Dorothy Cook is telling everyone that has ears."
"Carnal sin I believe." Luke corrected and everyone laughed.
"She is a swinger, and she is talking about carnal sin. So shameful!" Old Mayfair said.
Gossip entered the conversation, and they continued to chat, soon finding themselves focused on the newlyweds that were about to leave for the honeymoon. Everyone wanted to know where they were going and what their plans were.
Collin was being secretive which made them all curious. It was not until a picture of Ophelia popped up in the fabulous ladies' chat group that they ceased guessing the honeymoon destination.
"We found her!" Jennie announced excitedly. "We finally found Ophelia. I knew the ladies would come through for me."
