Reborn In 17th century India with Black Technology-Chapter 818: The Royal Family
"Ahh... hehe... I'm first"
"Giggle" "Giggle"
A sweet sound of a young girl reverberated in front of a gigantic palace like the pleasant chirping of a sparrow and the melodious hymn of the Apsaras.
Tanvika Deva Raya giggled and quickly ran into the carriage, leaving behind her brother, a step too slow. Vedanta, who saw his sister running away, immediately realised that he had been tricked. His expression immediately fell, and he ran behind her with gritted teeth, "grr."
"Wait up, you liar"
Following him behind were a pair of middle-aged men and women, along with a young teenage boy with a stoic expression on his face, looking like a Greek sculpture who had come alive.
The pair were naturally Vijay and Kavya.
Vijay was already 41, yet he remained as handsome and majestic as ever. Rather than fading with age, his appearance seemed to have only grown more striking, now adorned with a refined aura of nobility and grace. Walking beside him in a golden saree, Kavya was as beautiful and virtuous as always. Even in her late 30s, she remained breathtakingly graceful. Interestingly, her weight hadn't increased much over the years. In fact, she appeared to have slimmed down, her figure now matching the elegant form she had when she was newly married.
In Vijay's last life, adult Indians had no choice but to work out in order to stay fit. It was inevitable that they would get fat, since the genetic sequence of Indians had been altered in such a way that they evolved to function with the least amount of energy while storing as much energy as possible for survival and not using it to form muscles. Famines had a lot to do with it, but now that no such thing has happened in the Bharatiya Empire, the majority of the people in the empire are fit and healthy, especially after each and every educational institute, from childhood trains its children and students in fitness to the same standards as small-time athletes.
So it wasn't very hard for either Vijay or Kavya to stay in shape. They both were in amazing shape and physique to begin with, and given that neither of them was into excessively eating fatty foods, they did not get unnecessarily fat either. If anything, Kavya finally got on board with the fitness wave that was going on in the empire for the women and started to do various yoga exercises early in the morning, which seemed to have slimmed her down and brought her condition to even more excellent proportions.
As the couple got closer to the carriage, the sound of the twins fighting was heard once more.
There wasn't much expression in Agni's eyes, as if he was already used to it. But Vijay let out an exasperated sigh. These two twins of his were like fire and water, always quarrelling with each other and bullying each other. Trying to make them reconcile—Vijay does not know how many brain cells he has lost. Thinking about it, he looked at his eldest son with some blame in his eyes, but he quickly covered it up.
This guy should have taken the responsibility to control his siblings, but no. Who knows where he learned about the Stoicism philosophy of the Greeks and ancient Vedic sadhus? He seemed to have taken a liking to the philosophy and started to live according to its principles, looking like a block of wood all day long.
Noticing his change, Kavya asked him to talk to Agni and have him change his ways, but after hesitation, Vijay denied the request because he knew that stoicism could be a powerful tool. If his son decided to choose this path, he would let him be. Stoicism is not completely about pushing away emotions; it is a philosophy that works by not showing emotions on the face and not letting emotions control your thoughts. It might have some drawbacks, but Vijay knew that it was important for Agni to make his own mistakes and find his own path.
Listening to the quarrel, Kavya's face darkened. She immediately got into the carriage and pulled the ears of her troublesome twins.
"Vedant, Tanvika, cut it out, both of you, or else I will tie you up together to the pillar!"
The two kids cried in agony. Their movements immediately stopped as they let go of each other's clothes and hair, while they held their mother's hand with tears in their eyes. Looking at those eyes, anyone would be melted, but Kavya had seen the true nature of these two brats, so she did not let go until they became seated properly.
"I dare you to try it again," Kavya threatened with her eyes wide open like Goddess Durga.
Vijay and Agni finally sat in the carriage, finally, there was some peace and quiet.
Vijay looked through the window and smiled. "You'll be releasing the last volume, won't you?"
Hearing the question, even Agni's eyes fluctuated a little as he looked at his mother with some anticipation.
Kavya felt proud and nodded. "Of course. I have already completed the draft. I am only waiting for the editor to polish the draft and get the proofreading done. I should be able to publish it in a month or so."
Vijay smiled. "I will be looking forward to it."
*Harish Putter* has become the most valuable IP in the empire right now, and it has already earned revenue of over 500 million Varaha in the span of 6 to 7 years for the Raya Media Corporation. It was also responsible for giving rise to a new magical realism genre that has become all the rage in the Bharatiya Empire as of recent times. *Harish Putter* has been released in five volumes already, and the 6th volume should be the last. Vijay remembered that there were seven volumes in the *Harry Potter* novels in his last life, but he did not feel surprised when Kavya mentioned that she would end it at the 6th volume because he could tell that the way Kavya was writing was more compact and more lean, taking away a lot of unnecessary plot points from the JK Rowling version.
Kavya smiled, "Depart and come back safely, husband, children."
Vijay smiled and nodded. The twins, although angry, still waved their hands. Even Agni, who had been sitting in the carriage like a rock, leaned forward and waved his hand.
The carriage swiftly moved forward with the escort of the Royal Guards.
If Vijay is being completely honest, travelling in such a way could be considered very dangerous, since if an accident happened to the carriage, then the royal family could be wiped out in one single day. But fortunately for the Bharatiya Empire, although it will cause some short-term chaos, Vijay is already certain that a new emperor will be elected among the kings of the empire, and the policies which he had put forward for the long-term development of the empire will go on, as no emperor can be in power if they do not respect him in front of his people.
And even if it is an unlikely enemy attack, Vijay could sense the danger beforehand and still has the power to protect his family. What's more, his youngest son seemed to have inherited his danger-sensing capabilities as well.
Vedanth is actually the person most proficient in martial arts among his children. Even the eldest would not say he could 100 percent beat his nine-year-old younger brother. Hmm, come to think of it, the eldest seemed to have picked up the philosophy of stoicism only a few days after he lost to his younger brother.
Looking at Agni's expressionless face as he read through some documents, for some reason, Vijay felt very amused.
Quarter an hour later
Vijay dropped off his twins at the same school his brother went to, while he himself got off at the Simhasana Bhavana.
"So you will be going to your dockyard?" Vijay asked.
Agni nodded, "I will be receiving the equipment today, and I have to hold interviews for the engineers. Also, Rajendra said that he would be coming to the company as well, so I have to be there."
"It's good, go ahead and remember to come back home next month."
"I will, thank you, Father."
Looking at the back of the carriage, Vijay felt a slight sense of loss because the time he could spend with Agni had become less and less. But he knew that children would eventually have to grow up. Letting out a sigh of relief, he entered the palace.
New novel 𝓬hapters are published on ƒreewebɳovel.com.
Agni had graduated from the college a few months ago and was officially admitted to the Raya University a few weeks back, and Vijay did not have to open any back doors for him either. Agni's performance in the final examinations of the college was extremely good. He even ranked 8th in the whole empire, so it was not a problem for him to get admitted without his help.
However, instead of reporting to the university, he actually joined hands with Rajendra, his cousin, to start a company focused on servicing naval vessels. In fact, when Vijay knew about what Agni wanted to do, he was shocked, because servicing the ships can indeed be very successful, especially since the way ships are maintained in the empire has become extremely crooked and does not make any sense.
It is for this reason that, despite Kavya's insistence on Agni going to the university, he resolutely supported his son.
Not to mention, Vijay does not even have to use his influence to grant his son any special privileges, since Raya University does not have a very strict attendance policy. It actually gives a lot of freedom to special students like Agni. As long as Agni does not reduce his performance in the upcoming mock tests, midterms, semester examinations, and practicals, the management of the university wouldn't care much about what he is up to.
That is on the condition that the university gets proof that whatever the student is doing in his or her free time is productive and is being used to better himself or herself.
