Chapter 867: Chapter 751: Mr. Mei’s Illegitimate Child_4

As evening approaches, Mei Shuqing lets the younger generation and Mr. Mei return home first.

"Junzi, you take your grandpa and mom back. Once your mom finishes making the porridge, bring her back here."

"Got it, Dad."

"Shuqing, you and big brother and sister-in-law go to the hospital cafeteria first and grab some food. With so many people, it’s hard to bring food, so I won’t bring yours."

Mei Shuqing certainly feels for his wife. It’s not a big deal to be busy in the kitchen in such hot weather, but it’s not convenient to bring the food back.

Though he is a bit picky about food, he knows to consider the occasion.

When Lin Wan and Godmother return together, Aunt Wu has already prepared the meal and is waiting for them.

Godmother didn’t go back to her own place; she went into the kitchen in the old house to instruct Aunt Wu to cook a little thicker rice porridge for the old lady.

Chen Haichang didn’t seem to have any intention of leaving. After leaving the hospital, he drove his car following them, soon reaching the old house.

Without the oldest family here, the remaining people treated him like air. Instead, he sought presence by occasionally teasing Little Star and Hua Hua.

Everyone ate in this strange atmosphere, then Mr. Mei called him into the study alone.

Mei Lang Jun paid no mind to this. It didn’t matter what was said; the outcome is decided — his grandfather has made a third uncle for them.

Future matters are left for the future; he’s now heading with Mom to deliver food to Grandma.

After dinner, since it was still early, Han Yi’s family of three, unaffected, went out for a walk with Lin Wan and Little Star.

Mei Langchi, however, grew curious and after dinner, directly asked Ye Qing to take the children upstairs, sneaking to listen at the door of the study for a long time.

No one knew what Mr. Mei and Chen Haichang discussed, nor how much Mei Langchi overheard.

Ye Qing went upstairs holding the child, asking Aunt Wu to prepare some hot water for a bath. After playing outside all day, the child, both tired and hot, fell asleep after the bath.

Seeing Mei Langchi hadn’t returned yet, Ye Qing surreptitiously took out a package from her clothes. After confirming she quickly stuffed it back into her pants pocket.

Then she sat on the bed with her head bowed, silently pondering for a long time.

Ye Qing was unaware that, though Hua Hua had initially closed his eyes, he was not sleeping, and saw the packet she had opened earlier.

Hua Hua didn’t know what it was, only feeling puzzled for a moment before closing his eyes again.

Before, the nanny always tucked him in at night. Recently, Mom made him sleep on the sofa, and though he’s scared, he didn’t voice it, fearing Dad’s terrifying gaze when he instructed him to sleep on the sofa.

There were too many people, making it utterly inconvenient. After much thought, she abandoned the original idea, but Han Yi and Lin Wan scheming against her last time left her bitter — she couldn’t let them have peace. As Mei Shuqing returned with his family, the study door conveniently swung open.

Chen Haichang emerged energetic, while Mr. Mei inside appeared suddenly aged several years.

Mei Shuqing entered first, closely followed by Han Yi with Lin Wan.

Mei Langchi was calmly sitting alone in the living room, properly drinking tea, while Chen Haichang, eyes holding an inexplicable smile, lifted his chin at him and said, "Nephew, I just reconciled with your grandpa, we haven’t seen each other as father and son for dozens of years, we need to build a relationship. Arrange me a room tonight, I want to stay at your place for a while."

Hearing Chen Haichang’s words, Mei Langchi turned his head deeply to look at him, snorted, took a sip of tea and said, "You’re not welcome in our house. Find your own place."

"Oh, third nephew isn’t welcoming me, what a pity," Chen Haichang seemed unsurprised, showing no anger, instead turning to Mei Shuqing’s family who just entered, arms crossed smiling broadly, "The eldest family doesn’t welcome me. Second brother, second nephew, why not let me stay at your place?"
