Chapter 877: Chapter 754: Old Mei’s Defeat (Part 3)

Han Yi bought a chicken at the grocery store with Little Star and went home to make chicken soup for Lin Wan.

Little Star heard she was going to start school, and was listening to her dad while scrubbing her backpack in the restroom.

The child played for two months and also wants to go back to school to play with her friends.

The father and daughter were busy outside all afternoon, and Lin Wan slept for the whole afternoon. She felt much better.

Han Yi and Lin Wan were worried something might come up, so they went to the hospital the next day and had a cousin help with a check-up. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"The child is fine, probably just tired from all the traveling in recent days. Some rest will be good. Were you treated well at the Mei Family?" Lin Yuan said as she was busy with a lot of patients these days, keeping busy with overtime. "No, since they want to accept Han Yi, they definitely wouldn’t give us a hard time." Even Xie Lingzhi wouldn’t dare to act too outrageously.

"That’s good. You don’t need to take medicine, just eat more nutritious food. I’m off work early today, let’s have dinner at my place."

"Another day, Sister. Han Yi and I need to go to the compound shortly." Having returned from the Mei Family, Mom and Dad must be worried.

"Alright then, go ahead." Today there are finally fewer patients. Running into Lin Wan, I was planning to dine together tonight.

"Another day, Sister, you come to our house. I’ll make you some good dishes."

"Oh, please. With a man like yours at home, I’m afraid to trouble you."

Han Yi and Lin Wan heard the cousin say this and exchanged a smile.

Han Yi chuckled helplessly, "Come over someday. I’ll cook some dishes for the big sister-in-law."

"That’s more like it."

After leaving, Han Yi took Lin Wan to the store to check things out since they’ve not been there for a long time. Unsure of how Jia Tao is managing.

It’s almost September, but the weather hasn’t cooled yet. However, it’s time to start discounting and clearing summer inventory.

When Lin Wan arrived at the store, price tags were already marked down.

This Lin Wan has taught Jia Tao. The first markdown at the start of the season is 80%, followed by a second markdown in a few days at 70%. Ultimately, items are sold at cost, or slow-selling items are handled at low prices because the intended earnings have already been made.

"Manager, you’re back! Yesterday I was talking to Sister Qing about calling you."

"What’s up?"

"Our neighboring stores are offering even bigger discounts, affecting our store’s business significantly."

"...Oh" Lin Wan frowned slightly. She walked to the store entrance to check out the nearby clothing stores, confirming quite a number of people indeed.

Han Yi, with Little Star outside, also noticed a kid’s dress priced at just one unit. The price was indeed very cheap.

"Is it greatly impacting business?" Han Yi asked quietly as he worriedly came beside Lin Wan.

"The impact is there, but not very serious." Running a business entails competition; one can’t scoop all the money for oneself. Others deserve a share too.

She noticed those children’s clothing with good quality fabric. The cost should be around five to six units, and selling at this price means they don’t earn much. It’s mainly because of the season, getting rid of clearance stock.

Lin Wan returned to the store, instructed Jia Tao to continue with their markdown strategy, and see the situation in a few days.

After giving instructions, Lin Wan left with Han Yi to visit Mom.

Mom recently trained a new store manager, so she won’t have to work so hard in the future.

"You have been gone this long without calling home. Your godmother called me saying things there are quite chaotic." Liang Hongmei saw her daughter and son-in-law arrived and quickly had the kitchen prepare some food and opened a private room. It was already dinner time.

"It’s precisely because it’s so chaotic that I didn’t dare call and worry you and Dad. Besides, it’s nothing to do with us; we were quite relaxed over there."

Liang Hongmei picked up Little Star and kissed her granddaughter on the cheeks, leading them towards the private room. "Your dad and I aren’t worried, but your grandpa and grandma are afraid you’ll suffer at the hands of Old Mrs. Mei and her daughter-in-law."

Once inside the private room, Liang Hongmei checked Lin Wan’s belly and asked, "Is the baby okay?"

"Everything’s fine. I just had my sister perform a checkup at the hospital."

"That’s good. I heard from your godmother that Ye Qing is also there, I fear she might meddle with you if she finds out."

"Mom, things aren’t going well for her at the Mei Family right now, she doesn’t have time to bother me. Besides, she doesn’t know I’m pregnant." Lin Wan smiled as she chatted with Liang Hongmei and exchanged a knowing glance with Han Yi while her mom couldn’t see.
