Chapter 893: Chapter 758: Eldest Aunt Causes Trouble (Part 4)

"Stop playing dumb," Lin Wan scolded him with a smile, then asked, "Has Grandma woken up?"

"Not yet. But she had a full body check-up this morning. Grandma already had trouble with her legs, and this time she probably hurt something important when she fell. The doctor says the outlook isn’t optimistic."

She had just heard her aunt say, "Ai Yi, it’s okay, we are here. If Grandma really can’t move, we’ll take care of her. We definitely won’t let Grandma suffer any indignity."

"Hmm, thanks, Xiao Wan."

"Don’t look at me so affectionately like this," Lin Wan felt a bit shy under Han Yi’s sudden deep gaze. She hurriedly changed the subject, "You stayed up all night watching over Grandma, are you tired?"

"I’m alright, I dozed off for a bit last night. I’m not sleepy now."

"Okay, Ai Yi, do you know the phone number for the department in S City? I want to call my parents."

Han Yi raised her hand to check the time, then took Lin Wan to the nurse’s station to use their phone to dial the number for the department.

When they got connected to her dad’s phone, they found out he was at the department.

When Dad heard that Grandma was sick, he said he’d bring Mom over to visit tomorrow.

Lin Wan didn’t stop them. After hanging up, Han Yi took her back to the ward.

They didn’t mention anything about paying the fees, and planned to deny it if it was discovered.

Mother-in-law didn’t expect she would come over, thinking she should rest at home with her big belly and because it was cold.

No one expected she’d come on her own.

Because her other uncle had just scolded her, her aunt had quieted down a bit.

At noon, her cousin and his wife brought over some food for them. But it was all soup, just in case Grandma woke up.

As the day was about to end and everyone was worried, Grandma finally moved and gained consciousness a little after five in the afternoon.

It made the family overjoyed, and they quickly went to get a doctor to check her.

When they heard the doctor say that she was out of danger, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

"What happened to me?" Grandma asked, slightly confused, when she just woke up.

"Mom, you forgot? You slipped while going downstairs and fell from the stairs," her other uncle leaned beside her and gently explained.

Grandma sighed, dazed for a moment, then remembered. "Look at me, causing trouble for you guys in this cold weather. How could I be so careless?... Why is everyone here?" Grandma said, glancing around the room. When she saw her and Han Yi, she quickly reached out and said, "Xiao Yi, Xiao Wan, you’re back too? I just took a fall, your uncle also, how did he call you all over?"

"Grandma, I just happened to have a break and planned to come see you," Han Yi held Grandma’s hand, feeling uncomfortable seeing Grandma, who used to be plump, now withered down in just a few days.

"Why come back? It’s cold here, and Xiao Wan is pregnant. You’re just running around for nothing."

"Grandma, don’t blame Ai Yi. I asked her to bring me back because I missed you. Who knew you’d be so careless, taking a tumble that worried us to death. Grandma, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere now?"

"Yeah, Mom, if anything’s uncomfortable, you must tell us," her aunt and other aunt said, walking to the bedside.

"I’m not uncomfortable, I’m very well," Grandma smiled. She didn’t notice anything amiss.

Her cousin’s wife quickly asked if Grandma was hungry. The doctor said she could have some soup after waking up.

She shouldn’t eat too much, as more tests were scheduled for tomorrow.

With Grandma awake, the family finally felt relieved. But Grandma wasn’t aware of her leg condition yet.

Her other uncle, seeing her uncle come over after work, quickly pulled him outside.
