Chapter 1010: Chapter 1004: Parents Return Home_1

Qin Xue only started cooking once her family had finished their meals. Mainly, she was craving for something different, so she was inspired to cook by what her sister had said.

“So this is how you use the sweet potato,” Qin Jiale watched as her sister mashed sweet potato into a paste and mixed it into the rice flour, adding water and green onions to make a sticky paste. She then applied a thin layer of the paste onto a mold, placed a couple of shrimps on it before covering them with more paste to prevent them from falling off. She fried them in hot oil until they turned golden brown, sprinkled some chili salt on it, and placed them on clean lettuce. The appetizing and visually appealing shrimp pancakes were quickly served to her.

“Sis, these shrimp pancakes look even better than the ones my classmates had. They smell so good,” Qin Jiale said after serving her grandparents and parents. Only then did she take a bite herself, the taste was superb.

“Of course, we make our own with ample ingredients. The ones outside are made just for the sake of survival, how can they compare, right?” Qin Xue felt happy seeing her family enjoying the food she prepared.

“Yeah, if we sold these, we’d definitely do better business than them.” Qin Jiale really thought her sister’s cooking was delicious.

“Forget about that idea. Mum and Dad are already working hard enough in their current business. There’s no need to start a new one. Moreover, your uncles are already busy with their own things. It’s good enough for us to enjoy it occasionally. We should focus on doing what we do best. Quality is more important than quantity, you know? By the way, didn’t Granny just shell some peanuts earlier? Go grab some to put on top, it’ll be really tasty,” Qin Xue suggested, believing there was no need to stick to a single flavor all the time.

“Okay, I’ll go get them. You guys better not finish it all before I come back. I still want some,” Qin Jiale reminded her family before she left, for fear they might finish it all up while she was gone.

“We know, we won’t forget about you. Hurry up,” Nangong Shulan couldn’t help but laugh watching her younger daughter.

“Xue’er, let me take over, you can sit and eat,” Chu Molin had been watching his wife cook and felt that he could do the job as well.

“Alright, then I’ll leave it to you,” Qin Xue readily handed the task over to her husband. She was all too happy to let someone else take over and enjoy the delicious food.

“It’s not a bother at all, I’m happy to serve you,” Chu Molin whispered to his wife when he saw his mother-in-law and the others were not paying attention.

“Well, I look forward to your service,” Qin Xue smirked playfully. He’s quite a fast learner.

“Wow, this smells so good! We could smell it from outside. And you wouldn’t believe how many people outside are sneaking peeks at us,” Qin Chaoyang and his wife had arrived late, so by the time they got there, Qin Lei’s family had already eaten half of the food.

“Uncle, Aunt, you’re here. Hurry up and grab some before it’s all gone,” Qin Xue called out as soon as she saw her uncle and aunt.

They couldn’t help it. None of the family had tasted this before, and once they started, they couldn’t help but keep eating.

“My, Qin Xue, you’re so talented. You’ve invented so many delicious dishes. This looks even better than the ones they sell on the streets,” Lin CuiPing commented as she examined the shrimp pancake in her hand.

“Right? I told my sister that she makes it really well, but she said we’re all too busy to start making these. It’s a shame,” Qin Jiale spoke up when she heard her aunt agreeing with her.

“But your sister has a point. We all do have our own jobs, we’re pretty busy as it is. We don’t really have time to take on this as well,” Lin Cuiping agreed after mulling it over. If they weren’t busy with anything else, they might be able to start selling these. Now, however, they had their own work, and business was good. They were even bustling when there were lots of people, there was no time to take on something else.
