Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space-Chapter 1800 - 1794: Bones Are Fragile
Chapter 1800: Chapter 1794: Bones Are Fragile
The person being discussed by Qin Gang and the others is currently listening to the doctor from his hospital bed. He tries hard to get up, but no matter how much he struggles, it’s of no use.
"Don’t move carelessly. Your bones are very fragile now. If you move recklessly, you might fracture them." The doctor did not expect to treat such a patient, whose bones are surprisingly brittle, unlike a normal person’s. Initially, they hadn’t noticed this, but even a slight movement from the patient resulted in a sound, which frightened everyone observing from the sidelines.
"Doctor, you have to save me. I’m still so young; I don’t want to spend the rest of my life like this." Although the man was paralyzed, he had no problem speaking.
"It’s not that I don’t want to save you. To be honest, yours is the first case in Hua Country, and possibly the first in the world, so we need to carefully study it and conduct examinations before we can determine the cause. Don’t be too anxious, because being anxious won’t help," the doctor, also taken aback, spoke frankly.
The doctor’s words chilled the man’s heart. Did that mean there was no saving him? What was he supposed to do in the future? He didn’t have children yet; he hadn’t lived enough. If he had to continue living like this, how was he any different from a dead man? The dead don’t suffer, but he had to face his condition day by day, watching himself deteriorate. The mental torment was more than anyone could bear.
Ji Dong was listening to the conversation in the ward from outside. He couldn’t quite describe his feelings. Early this morning, he first went to Qin Su’e’s husband’s house. Upon learning of the incident, he intended to return to the station, but he turned back to Qin’s village to learn more about Qin Su’e’s character.
Who would have thought there was so much more to the story? No wonder the woman acted so ruthlessly. As a man treating his wife this way, her revenge was understandable, but why didn’t she just kill him instead of torturing him like this?
Ji Dong felt that he needed to go back and question Qin Su’e about some things; otherwise, many aspects would remain confusing and unclear.
"Who are you?" the doctor asked as he came out and saw Ji Dong standing at the door of the ward. Who was he? What did he want?
"Hello, I’m from the bureau, and I’d like to understand the man’s condition better." Ji Dong showed his credentials to the doctor.
"Oh, let’s discuss this in the office, then." The doctor nodded after glancing at the credentials.
"Alright." Ji Dong put his credentials back into his pocket. He was in plain clothes today to gather more information from people.
People nowadays generally have a sense of fear, and since Ji Dong understood this, he chose not to wear his work uniform.
"Please sit." The doctor took his seat and looked at Ji Dong, inviting him to sit.
"Thank you. I’ll get straight to the point. Please tell me the patient’s condition directly." Ji Dong took out a notebook and pen to take notes.
"When the patient was brought in, he couldn’t move at all. Only his eyes could move, and his mind was quite clear. He could speak clearly, but the rest of his body was paralyzed. Additionally, any slight movement of his would make a noise, as if his bones might break at any moment..." The doctor slowly described the man’s condition.
"Could his condition be possibly caused by medication?" Ji Dong wondered, recalling that Qin Su’e had mentioned drugging her husband.
"We can’t rule out that possibility, but in my many years as a doctor, I haven’t heard of any drug that has such an effect. So, we can’t be sure if it’s due to some ingested drug." The doctor was aware that when drugs were involved, cases often resulted in brain paralysis, meaning nervous system damage, leading to an inability to live a normal life.
However, the man’s condition was clearly different from what the doctor knew, so he couldn’t be certain it was caused by medication.
