Chapter 440: Chapter 440: She Is Like an Angel

Nancy Allen saw the panic in Julius Shaw’s eyes and knew what he was thinking.

Julius Shaw, in front of others, seemed like a mysterious and unpredictable demon king.

But in front of Nancy, his thoughts were transparent.

Nancy said coldly to Alva King and her daughter, "This incident serves as a lesson for you. I will keep the surveillance video. If you trouble Ruby Carter again, it won’t be just me coming to your door."

Alva lowered her eyes, hiding the malice in them.

The middle-aged man quickly said, "I know, I know, I will make sure to educate Alva properly, and never let her behave out of line again."

After speaking, Nancy pulled Julius Shaw away with her.

As they both left the market, Nancy gave Julius a thumbs-up.

Julius Shaw, still in a state of shock, stared blankly.

Nancy interrupted his wild thoughts, smiling as she said, "You did great. That father and daughter duo needed to be dealt with like this."

Julius was a bit dazed. Whenever he had handled such matters before, he would only receive fear and cautious looks from those around him, as if they wished he would disappear quickly.

Even though it was others who first harmed him, no one ever said he did well.

Nancy knew about Julius Shaw’s past.

She said seriously, "I actually wanted to teach that father and daughter a lesson too, and you did it better than I would have."

Julius clutched the cotton candy in his palm.

The wooden stick of the cotton candy pricked his palm slightly, causing some pain, but it felt real.

Being trusted and recognized, Julius couldn’t describe the feeling; his heart felt sour but full.

Nancy and Julius returned to the greenhouse together.

As for the man pursuing Ruby Carter, Nancy didn’t think much of it.

It’s normal for a young and gentle girl to have admirers.

When Nancy returned to the greenhouse and saw Ruby’s bleeding had started again, her expression changed slightly.

Ruby’s illness is something that ordinary doctors can’t handle. Nancy decided to take Ruby back to the Imperial Garden, where Mr. Bailey was still present.

Nancy turned her head to Luna Summer and said, "Let’s go, take her back to the Imperial Garden now."

Luna instinctively looked at Julius Shaw.

Julius Shaw glared at Luna Summer, "Why are you looking at me? Hurry up and help her."

Luna felt aggrieved. Was she voluntarily doing this? It was Second Young Master who usually didn’t allow a single person to be brought back to the Imperial Garden.

The group got into the car.

Julius generously sat in the front passenger seat.

Nancy and the other two women sat in the back.

Seeing Ruby’s increasingly pale face, Nancy felt a bit gloomy.

Ruby whispered, "Miss Allen, I’m sorry for troubling you. I’m actually fine; I’ll be better after a nap."

As she spoke, blood trickled from the corner of her mouth again. Ruby hurriedly tried to find tissues to wipe it, anxiously afraid of soiling the car.

Nancy took some tissues to wipe Ruby’s mouth, whispering, "You did nothing wrong. Never take others’ mistakes as your own responsibility. Rest, you’ll be fine soon."

Ruby wanted to say something more.

Nancy gently placed her hand over Ruby’s eyes, "Be good."

Ruby, already anemic and having lost a lot of blood, was feeling faint.

The hand over her eyes was warm and trustworthy, and Ruby closed her eyes.

By the time they returned to the Imperial Garden, Ruby had already fainted. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Luna looked at Julius, wondering who would carry the unconscious Ruby.

Julius didn’t even bother to look and just walked ahead with Nancy.

Luna then looked at Hailey Smith, who had come running to greet them.

Hailey stood far away, maintaining a standoffish attitude.

Resigned, Luna picked up Ruby, feeling that she, despite her age, had to bear it all.

Hailey was someone who adamantly believed men and women should keep their distance. During training, she treated Luna like one of the guys, even putting her arm around her shoulders.

Luna ran into the Imperial Garden with Ruby in her arms, shouting, "Mr. Bailey, come out quickly, it’s an emergency!"

Ian Bailey was resting on a lounge chair and nearly fell off when he heard the shout.

He rushed out, expecting something had happened to Nancy again.

When he saw it was the girl with aplastic anemia, he examined her and then glared at Luna Summer, saying, "She’s just dizzy from blood loss. The wound isn’t big; stop the bleeding and it’ll be fine. What’s all this fuss about? You startled me."

Luna scratched her head, "I was just worried because she couldn’t stop bleeding!"

Ian quickly treated Ruby with medication and acupuncture, and this time, the bleeding inside her mouth finally stopped.

When Ruby opened her eyes, she saw herself surrounded by so many people, and she felt at a loss. In the past, she only had her brother by her side, never so much attention.

Nancy reassured her, "Don’t be afraid. You’re in the Imperial Garden, and the bleeding has stopped. With Mr. Bailey here, you’ll be alright."

Ruby looked at Nancy in a daze.

In Ruby’s inner world, there’s no unmotivated kindness.

All acts of goodwill could be ulterior motives, like the man who had been pestering her recently.

But Miss Allen was different.

She was the first to gently stroke her head and tell her to live well.

Miss Allen was like an angel.

Ruby’s issue wasn’t serious. Once it was confirmed that she was okay, Nancy told someone to notify Thomas Carter.

There’s surveillance in the greenhouse, so Thomas might already know Ruby had an accident. To avoid worrying him, he should be informed to come and pick her up. In her current state, Ruby wasn’t suited to go out alone.

Meanwhile, Thomas did find out. Seeing the surveillance nearly scared him to death.

He hurried to the greenhouse, where his sister was not, but there was a new shop assistant.

Upon receiving the news, Thomas immediately rushed to the Imperial Garden, seeing his sister’s pale face.

Thomas directly said, "Sister, you’d better not go to the greenhouse anymore. Stay by my side. You’ve been unhurt for so long with me, and look what happened just a few days at the greenhouse. You scared me to death."

There was faint blame in his words, though it was unclear whether it was directed at Ruby or Nancy.

Luna frowned upon hearing this.

Previously, she thought he was a nice guy, but when it came to his sister, he didn’t seem right.

What’s with that tone? Could he be blaming her mistress?

The mistress sheltered his sister, let Mr. Bailey diagnose her for free, avenged her when she was beaten, and even allowed her to use such precious life-saving blood. What more could he want?

One shouldn’t be ungrateful.

Luna was just about to speak when Nancy gently shook her head, making Luna hold back her words.

Nancy, understanding Thomas Carter’s mindset, noted that when someone was extremely concerned, they sometimes lost their composure. She just didn’t like it when her help was met with suspicion. If Ruby wanted to leave the greenhouse, she wouldn’t stop her.

Nancy’s gaze was somewhat distant.

After Thomas spoke, Ruby immediately frowned and said, "Brother, don’t say that. I like being in the greenhouse. This was an accident. I didn’t handle something well myself. Miss Allen helped me teach that woman who hit me a lesson and brought me back to the Imperial Garden to let Mr. Bailey treat me. Brother, we are adults; we should know right from wrong."
