Reborn Regress Return: I Am the Heir of Shadows!-Chapter 78: The Fragile Moments of Peace
Julian sat on the edge of a concrete wall, wearing a casual hooded jumper, a pair of black washed jeans. The man's skin looked creamy, with a healthy tan and dark circles under his eyes. He swished a small glass of cola—not the cheap, off-brand garbage, but a full sugar, full-flavour original cola.
The bottle was half empty, glistening in the mid-afternoon sunlight as he waited for the two women who asked to meet him at the mall.
"To think the taste has changed this much since I was a kid..."
Despite its high sugar count and the empty calories, he didn't care. Because when working out at the rate Julian had been, it didn't matter, and most of all, it was because the world was coming to an end.
Enjoying the icy chill of the nostalgic drink, he raised the bottle and savoured the sweet caramel taste. Then, avoiding the passing glances, he guzzled the last of the cola... and instantly let out a sigh of delight.
"So good!"
Julian looked at the bottle, swishing the tiny amount left, curious about whether it was cola or just spit backs.
For a moment, he contemplated before tossing it with a measured force.
With the flick of his wrist, the glass bottle slammed into the recycling bin, shattering with a sudden smash on impact because someone had placed a metal toaster inside.
"Damn... who throws their toasters in the plastic and glass bin? Fucking savages."
Pretending to be an Eco-Warrior, avoiding the stern gazes of passing women with their children, hushed words about "Avoid becoming like that." and "So boorish."
Of course, in this sector, where the average resident belonged to the upper echelon of society, such acts might be seen as distasteful.
However, Julian wasn't from this Sector. It was just convenient for his meeting location today. Slipping from the wall, he tossed his hood back, revealing a face worthy of being plastered across the front of a magazine. The thick eyebrows arched above almond-shaped, long-lashed eyes that sparkled like jewels. His skin was tanned but smooth as porcelain, with just enough shadow in his jaw to add maturity.
"!!!"
The harsh gazes of the women faded and suddenly averted their gazes wafting their faces, maybe experiencing a hot flush. On the other side of the plaza, Julian's eyes landed on two familiar figures.
"They took their time..."
Sena wore a pair of jeans and a blouse, her hair tied in a tight ponytail. Her dark eyes met his gaze and held it for a moment before she raised her fist at him and mouthed, "You better have behaved!" Before breaking into a jog, rushing towards him like a dog meeting its owner.
Julian sidestepped gracefully and avoided the hug, but he still fell victim to Sena's enhanced motor skills as she stepped off the wall and jumped onto his back, hugging him from behind.
"Bastard, don't avoid my hugs!"
She licked his face before kissing his cheek, ensuring her saliva and tongue made it sticky and wet to annoy him.
"Oh god, Sena... We're in public!"
Another nasal voice with a sensual tone echoed from his front.
He set his eyes on the second woman, shorter than Sena... but not short enough to be called petite. She had a rounded face, wide forehead and soft cheeks, and full lips painted deep red. Two long, arched eyebrows framed her eyes and a thin nose, giving her an almost regal appearance.
Like usual, she wore makeup, with smoky eyes and thin black eyeliner.
Unlike Sena, she didn't wear jeans but a rather racy red dress that cut above her knees, made from white cotton and lace.
It was simple but expensive enough to show off her figure well, not to mention her black leggings with a thigh band that caused the flesh to bulge, an erotic sight as she shifted the slit in her dress to display them.
"Can you not be more graceful, Sena?"
Maria seemed confident, and the way she spoke allowed Julian to sigh with relief—the pair seemed to have made up after Sena discovered him cheating on her.
"Heh!"
Sena pulled her tongue out while hugging Julian's neck tightly, leaning on his shoulder.
"Don't just stand there, greet your lover," Maria said as she came closer and stood on her tiptoes to kiss him.
Julian didn't mind this affection despite being in public; it was a natural greeting for him.
The moment their lips touched, he felt Sena pinch his shoulder, but he ignored her.
"Not fair..."
Julian nervously chuckled before he turned to face Sena and winked at her the moment before he grabbed her chin. Because she was behind him, it was a little awkward, and his neck strained slightly, but the shocked look on her face as he kissed her was worth it.
The kiss wasn't like what Maria had given him; it was more passionate, especially since Sena's eyes widened, and then her throat rumbled with some erotic sound, the vibration causing him to part from her.
"You... Hmph, that was okay..."
Sena's cheeks turned red, the thread of his saliva dripping down her lip as she wiped it away.
"What do you think we're meeting here for?"
Maria disturbed them, maybe out of jealousy, but Julian didn't mind because the glances from others started to hurt.
After all, he just kissed two women in a row. This country didn't ban polygamy, but it rarely worked and caused too many issues unless in the highest level of society where it became messy without those foolish worries.
"You're right, Let's go."
He didn't kick her off his back and let her cling to him like some child, and for a moment, he imagined a monkey clinging to him.
It made it hard to walk because she had long legs that wrapped around his waist and kept brushing against his crotch, sometimes a pleasant feeling, other than it hurt like hell when she tapped his balls.
Forced to act like it didn't hurt like hell, he gritted his teeth and offered a hand to Maria, who gladly took it.
"So what did you want to do today?"
Julian asked because they weren't there to shop.
"Eh, didn't I tell you?"
Sena's voice hummed from beside his ear as he held her up with one arm under her ass.
'No, you just sent me a message to wait here after we got back...'
He thought, but didn't wish to cause another argument, so he remained quiet. But luckily, Sena seemed aware of the issue.
"Sorry about that," She muttered while burying her head into Julian's shoulder and kissed his cheek. "Forgive me, okay?"
"Yeah... sure."
Maria didn't interrupt when the two flirted in this fashion—rather, she seemed unaffected. Her thumb stroked the back of Julian's hand, and that was all she appeared to need.
Though they came to this mall the other day, today's visit wasn't for the shopping district but the entertainment district with various arcades, cinemas and other places. Julian preferred this side of the mall; it was more lively and relaxed than the main street, where people only cared about the price tag.
"So what do you fancy doing first?"
Julian asked the girls, wondering what they might like.
"Cinema!"
Sena shouted, her arms lifted in the air like a child, but Julian knew she only acted this way around him... different from her normal, restricted self. So, he didn't want to tell her off or correct her mannerisms but felt happy that she could relax and be herself.
"Why?"
This content is taken from freeweɓnovel.cѳm.
He inquired since they could stream any movie on demand inside their homes, so it was odd she'd prefer this.
"Hehe~"
She leaned closer to him and put her hands around his ears as if to hide the sound. "I want to kiss you in the dark"
Her lips brushed against his cheek, and she giggled softly before pulling back.
Julian didn't respond to the tease and just continued to walk beside Maria, who pulled close to him and snuggled into his arm.
"I want to do whatever you want, Julian."
"Ah! You snake!"
Sena pointed at Maria and huffed.
'This is quite relaxing...'
He couldn't help but find this situation amusing.
Julian only felt grateful that Sena forgave him, at least on the surface, and she accepted Maria into their relationship.
'If we weren't Returnees, I doubt either of them would accept this situation so quickly...' He couldn't help but think that such an arrangement wasn't natural for normal people, no matter what they thought.
But then again, they might be jealous, but he didn't want to leave them behind either.
