Chapter 1143: Zhan Yahui (2)

Alix lay nestled in his arms, staring at his handsome sleeping face unblinkingly. It was the middle of the night and though the ecstatic moments of their passion had left them both exhausted, mysteriously, she failed to get sleep. Tired as she was, she had this strange urge to simply look at Jin and absorb this moment together with him.

She felt as if she thought about nothing yet a million thoughts bounced back and forth like the game of ping pong. She slowly lifted her hand and ever so lightly touched his cheek. Her fingertips brushed against his hair and faintly traced his cheekbone. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

She had come far was what she realized in the peaceful silence. The serenity in this present moment felt similar to the time she woke from the coma. She had stayed still on the hospital bed just like tonight upon realizing her reincarnation. For a long time, she wasn’t even sure if she should feel happy or loatheful.

It felt great that she was breathing again but what was she supposed to do with her new life? Make up for her horrible past deeds?

That felt like a joke to her. She was irredeemable. Doing good things in her new life wasn’t suddenly going to undo what was already done. Yet when she had stopped Cai Lingyun from hurting Ai during the Business Summit, she felt a million times lighter as if she was a feather floating in the air. It was just one simple action yet it changed the entire course of the way she felt about her existence.

Business Summit...

"What are you thinking about?"

Her eyes slightly stretched wide seeing Jin awake and staring into beautiful eyes. She immediately withdrew her hand thinking that woke him up but he stopped her and let it rest on his cheek again, placing his hand on top of hers.

"I’m sorry."

"There’s no happier feeling for me than my wife ogling me," he chuckled.

"You make me sound like a pervert."

"A pervert just for me," his eyes twinkled. "What were you thinking?"

Alix was silent for a beat. "The evening of the Business Summit suddenly popped into my mind."

"The first time we met."

"Technically, it’s the second time after how you had poured water down my - Alix’s head in Guangzhou."

Jin cleared his throat. "Okay, those circumstances were different back then..."

"You weren’t so amicable years later either."

He coughed.

"But you did become cuter and cuter. Seeing you grumpy is actually fun. I remember your face from the time I took that check from you. You looked like you were forced to drink some bitter medicine."

"..."

He harrumphed. "And I did take revenge. You shamelessly barged into my space so I shamelessly barged into yours and now I’m your husband you cannot escape from."

She smiled and pulled him closer, wrapping her arms around his neck. "I don’t want to."

Her sweet whisper made a tremble pass through and he dropped down to kiss her lips. After a long stretch of passion with his tongue, she urged him downwards to rain kisses on her neckline. Along the way, Jin propped himself up, climbing on top of her with his fingers softly clenching upon her waist. The more they kissed, the more the dormant heat riled up within them, stirring them breathless.

After a sweet but fiery onslaught of kisses, Jin plunged himself into her, escaping a pleasurable groan from his lips. He held her tighter, increasing the pace of his thrusts. It was the realm of ecstasy they had touched upon many times now but it still was never enough for them.

More so for Alix, who felt her world sparkling at the moment. She couldn’t distinguish between the fact if she was sane or drunk anymore. But the drunkenness felt more inviting to her so she joined in the momentum, wanting him to reach deeper and deeper within her.

She felt his fingers tracing the curves of her body in reverence as if Jin held her like a Goddess. She felt his face buried in her chest, his mouth licking and sucking the wonders out of her breasts. She felt his hand glide at the back of her neck and clutch onto her hair as he kissed her hard, warm and sweaty.

"I love you..."

He whispered again and again with each thrust pushing her to the point of no return.

"I love you..."

"I love you...Yahui..."

Tears slid out that plopped on the pillow. The wave of emotions that engulfed her heart was indescribable. She had started to loathe her old name the moment she woke up as Ren Alix. She had wanted to bury that identity in the deepest confines of the abyss. She happily donned upon Ren Alix’s face, yet at times...she would feel a part of her missing from her. She felt like an imposter, undeserving of Alix’s share of happiness.

Yet even after everything that happened in the past, there was a man now making love to her who was calling out her name with utmost respect and love. The real Zhan Yahui who had gotten lost in the darkness by her parents’ death and by the madness of revenge.

It was tonight that she realized how much she had actually wanted to hear her name all this time, but she had crushed that hope herself before it got any chance to hurt her. There was no person in his or her right mind who would like to remember her as Zhan Yahui. That name only invoked pain, resentment and suffering.

Yahui held his face in between her trembling hands and arched a bit to kiss him on the lips. She hated tears, but she let them flow freely tonight. She hated it more if anybody saw those tears, but she let Jin wipe them away with his gentle touch.

"I love you, Jin."

Though such flowery words always made her hesitant, she couldn’t stop herself from speaking her mind tonight. She didn’t want to leave any regrets of being unable to express to her love because nobody understood it better than her how limited time was.

Jin shuddered and came inside her with the sweet melody of her confession brimming his eyes with tears. He felt like he would never get tired of it no matter how many times she said it.

"I love you too..."

They hugged, letting each other’s warmth seep into them as they relished the moment of this blissful night.

Because time was what they both didn’t want to lose. Ever.
