Chapter 1159: Sketch

Shui woke up with a jolt and dazedly glanced around her. Letting out a yawn, she rubbed her sleepy eyes. Feeling something covering her, she looked down and found a small blanket wrapped around her shoulders and chest.

"..."

Did I fall asleep in the cafe!? Oh my gosh, this is the second time now!

First at the gaming plaza and now...Why am I such a sleepyhead!?

Whispers of some customers chuckling reached her ears who were enjoying her panicky reaction and embarrassment.

"You are awake?"

Lin stopped by and placed a tray with a glass filled with fresh juice.

Shui felt she had no face left to show. "I’m really sorry..."

"Are you not getting proper sleep?"

Her brow twitched.

Is he referring to the plaza time too?

"I just spent too much time thinking about my painting ideas last night, so I didn’t get much sleep..." she coughed. "I do get proper sleep though."

Lin blinked. For a moment he wondered if her lack of sleep...might be due to Jin and Alix’s relationship. She loved Jin as much as he loved Alix. There were times when he couldn’t sleep properly either because he kept thinking about her.

Was Shui the same?

Though at the moment, it didn’t look that way. He didn’t pursue further.

"Okay."

She cleared her throat. "Thank you for the blanket. I’ll take my leave..."

"Can I have that drawing?"

"Drawing?" She looked at him, puzzled.

"My sketch you drew before falling asleep."

Her eyes widened, horrified and she looked down at her drawing pad. She had captured the moment of Lin serving the customer, back slightly arched and with a smile on his lips. Even the window lighting and shading were to the point.

Shui pressed her lips, wanting to kill herself at this moment. She slowly looked back at him, waving her hands in a nervous dismissal.

"This is...I just randomly start drawing at times."

He blinked.

"It was just the right setting and pose, that’s all. But I definitely respect people’s privacy."

Lin frowned. "Why is Miss. Han explaining herself?"

"Well I understand if you are angry at me for sketching you..."

"Why would I be angry?"

"Because I didn’t ask your permission?"

"Are you going to use this to defame me somehow?"

"Of course not," she was stunned.

"Then it’s all okay. I just asked for it because it’s really good. Also, Cai asked."

From the corner, Cai was peeking from the kitchen. It was him who had first caught the sketch and then he ran to his brother’s side.

’That sketch is really cool, Bro! A-Ask her if we can keep it with ourselves...?’

He immediately disappeared the moment Shui’s gaze landed on him.

"Of course, you can keep it! You don’t need to ask."

She tore the drawing page and happily handed him over to him.

"Thank you," he nodded.

"Who is he! Who is that bastard!?" One of the customers suddenly rose from his chair and exclaimed. He was trembling with fury, facing the woman seated before him.

It was evident that the woman was trying to hush him and calm down the moment everybody’s gazes landed upon them, but her company was in no mood to listen. She grew frantic every passing moment.

Lin walked over and asked, "Is there a problem, Sir?"

"Stay out of it!" He glared at him.

"This is my cafe and you are bothering the other customers, not to mention your companion, so I won’t stay out of it."

"You don’t have to show any pity towards this bitch! She is a cheater!"

Lin threw a glance at her, who looked visibly shaken. She almost half-turned her head to look to the other side but stopped.

He calmly said, "I would ask you to refrain from insulting a woman in a public space. Whatever the argument is, you can discuss it privately."

"No, I won’t! She is a cheater! She was just using me all this time to get her ex’s attention!"

"Sir, I kindly ask you to leave," Lin plainly said.

"Fine!"

The man threw a vicious glare at her. "Let’s talk someplace else!"

The woman was clearly hesitating to leave with him and she remained where she was, tension creasing her brows.

"She can stay. You can leave."

"What nonsense is this!? You only told to discuss it privately. That’s what I’m doing!"

Shui grimaced.

That ’private talk’ would surely get violent...

"Sir, the conversation cannot be one-sided and if she doesn’t want to talk to you right now, you cannot force her. Clearly, she is uncomfortable."

He angrily laughed. "A cheater should feel more than just uncomfortable!"

"Please leave."

"No, I won’t!"

He threw a disgusting glare at her. "Come with me!"

"I..."

Irked with impatience, he reached out to grab her hand when Lin held it back. His gaze darkened. "You are just an owner so stay like an owner!"

"This is my cafe which is why I’m stopping you. No violence and chaos in my cafe," he said expressionlessly, but his grip on his wrist was becoming firmer.

The man could feel a numb pain building up, but it felt too humiliating to respond to it. Lin didn’t look like he could fight the man but his strength was no joke. The more terrifying part was an absolute lack of any expression in Lin’s eyes.

At that point, some young onlookers had taken out their phones to record them, and he didn’t want to be captured to become a viral spectacle for the whole world.

He shook his hand away and glared. "Fine! I will leave!"

He threw another angry glare at the girl and stormed off the cafe.

Lin bowed before the customers. "I’m sorry for the disturbance. Please carry on."

He looked back at the woman. "Are you okay, Mam?"

Shui hopped by and poured her a glass of water. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"Thank you..."

Lin noticed her anxiously darting her gaze to the back. "Is there a problem?"

"No, no! I’m fine! Th-Thank you so much for your help..." She faced him, embarrassed.

"That’s alright," Lin said, "Will you be alright leaving here on your own?"

He wondered if her stubborn boyfriend would be waiting on the sidelines to ambush her once she would leave the cafe.

"I have my brother working in the kitchen. Should I ask him to drop you off?"

"N-no, no! I will be fine!" She hastily said. "Thank you so much!"
