Reborn: The Return of the Villainous Mr. Liu-Chapter 1194: Face to face
"Shuiiiiiiiii!!"
Mr. Yang approached her with tearful eyes. "The day is finally here! O-Oh my God I am so nervous. You know I totally believe in you, right? B-but what if Mr. Zhong Sihan remains stubborn!"
Shui looked into pitiful big eyes and sighed. "Nothing like that is gonna happen. Everything will be fine."
"People can also act, you know! What if he pretends to not like your art?" He sniffled.
"You cannot really hide your emotions if you are moved, you know? And I am pretty sure Mr. Zhong hasn’t taken any acting classes. So cheer up!"
"If Shui is confident, then so am I!" He suddenly gained the lost confidence he needed. "Like hell I will sell Blooming!"
"You had already decided to sell Blooming," she folded her arms.
"W-Well..." he averted his gaze. "That man can build up a lot of pressure you know! I-I gotta go! Have to look after so many arrangements! I will get a heart attack if something fails!"
"Or you are just running away."
"Ba-Bye!"
As soon as he hopped away, Shui exhaled a deep breath. She clutched her chest with trembling hands. Though she supplied a full dose of courage to the Blooming’s owner, her own heart pounded with doubts and apprehensions. It was like the entire fate of Blooming lay on her shoulders. That was a terrifying aspect to think about.
"Ahh I need some cold drink. I will die of this heat."
Shui decided to divert her apprehensive thoughts and hopped straight to the entertainment section - the entertainment section being the collaboration of Lin’s cafe and Jian and Nuo’s Natsukashi. As soon as she climbed to the upper floor where the arrangement of tables was going on, she felt an invisible pressure in the air as Lin and Jian stood in a faceoff.
"What’s happening?" She chirped in a happy mood or at least tried to.
"He hurt my heart!" Jian pitched in with his grievances before Lin got any chance to speak. "You know how fragile my heart is, right?"
Nuo made a face and went back to tending to her son’s needs.
Shui tried to smile. "Of course, Bro. You were always such a softie."
"I knew you would understand me so now make this stubborn man understand!"
Lin plainly said, "I am not being stubborn."
Meanwhile, Cai was slowly inching towards Nuo, eager to get a closer look at her toddler son, Muyang.
"You are! I am telling you my pesto sauce would work the best!"
"It’s the aioli that would go better."
Lightning crackled between them and both refused to back down.
"Do you want to hold him?" Nuo asked Cai, to which he beamed.
"Can I?"
Meanwhile, both siblings had no interest in this ongoing war of sandwiches.
Shui asked, "I think both would taste good. Why can’t we have both?"
"That’s a weak compromise I shall not surrender to!"
Lin peeked at Shui and after a moment’s thought walked up to her. "How is your ankle now? You shouldn’t keep standing."
"It’s much better now, thank you!" She then cleared her throat.
Probably I got too excited...
After their last meeting in the office, they hadn’t met face to face again so now both stood in awkward positions of striking a conversation.
We just fell on top of each other, it’s no big deal! Shui furiously tried to convince her own mind.
But she didn’t understand why she had a hard time looking in his eyes
"Lin, my boy!"
Lin turned to find none other than Zhong Sihan walking toward him with a shine in his eyes. Behind him in the distance walked his brother’s side of the family, who he was surprised to see in the art gallery.
Cai, who was happily cradling Muyang in his arms, slightly stiffened when his gaze fell upon Ruyi.
Lin slightly bowed. "Mr. Zhong."
He glared. "Didn’I I tell you not to call me so formally!"
"Then what should I call you?" He asked, not matching his zealous energy vibe.
"Dad!"
Shui looked dumbfounded.
Didn’t he want to adopt him as his grandson?
He blinked. "Not that I agree with your adoption proposal, but didn’t you want to adopt me as your grandson?"
"I promoted you! Isn’t that great?" He grinned.
"I don’t want to become your son either."
He sneered. "You won’t have a choice. Like how your dear friend will lose her today and Blooming will be sold, you would eventually yield to my offer too."
Jian only listened to their conversation with a raised brow. His gaze fell on the family lagging behind, who had no interest in joining Zhong Sihan.
"Ugh, we did have to come here?" Ruyi’s brother asked with a grimace.
Zhong Sihan smiled. "Why are you so frustrated? Oh I forgot. You were eyeing this place, or should I say, land for a long time now. But now it will be mine and of course you will be salty to see your precious crush being snatched away from you."
His gaze darkened.
Zhong Sihan clicked his tongue. "Ah, Heng. What kind of a son have you raised? How come he is my brother’s grandson? Aren’t you supposed to be shameless and vicious just like he was?"
His wife, Zhong Anrui, could only listen in silence while clenching her fists.
Zhong Heng’s gaze hardened. "Shameless were you who threw your own brother away from the business and forced him to kill himself. Even so, you have the confidence and audacity to show your face to the world as if you did nothing."
Shui stared at the son in silence.
Zhong Sihan chuckled. "Ah, I see how you have inherited my brother’s ignorance. No wonder your son turned out to be like that too."
"Stop it, Sihan."
Han Tian just reached their side and squinted his eyes at him. "So much bitterness will make you sick, you know?"
"Heyyyy, look who’s here?" He shone. "The softie painting fairy Tian!"
His brow twitched and so did Shui’s
"And what sick? I have spent so many years in prison now that bitterness just pumps up my blood now~ You should try it and tone down on your pathetic sweetness too, you know?"
