Reborn With a Money-Making System: Ruined Actress to Nation's Treasure-Chapter 167: Almost Didn’t Make It To The Studio
I scrunched up my nose and couldn’t help but sob a little because I could no longer hold back my embarrassment. "You’re such a bully!"
The moment Lando saw me starting to cry, he quickly wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a hug. "I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to bully you," he said in a panic. "I’m really sorry. I heard everything you said."
I puffed out my lips and whispered, "Then what did I say?"
Lando smiled and gently brushed my hair away from my face. "I love you," he said softly.
It didn’t sound like he was just repeating my words. It felt more like he was confessing his love all over again. I stood on my tiptoes and whispered into his ear while placing my hands around my mouth. "I love you too, husband."
After I whispered those words right into his ear, Lando finally pressed his lips against mine. One of his hands moved to the back of my waist as he deepened the kiss until I struggled to breathe.
He kissed me again and again until I forgot what we had been planning to do earlier. When he finally released me, I was sure my face had turned completely red, because when I touched my cheeks, they felt unbearably hot, as if I had a fever.
"W-We’re still going to take our wedding photos, right?" I asked shyly.
Lando nodded right away. "Yes." His voice sounded a little unfocused, and his eyes kept staring at my slightly swollen lips. "But if you don’t want to go, then—"
"I still want to go!" I blurted out.
No matter how much I wanted to stay at home with him, I still felt this was the right time to take our wedding photos. Besides, I wasn’t sure I could control myself if we stayed alone at home.
Well... if we really ended up having sex, I would be the one riding him, right? I still didn’t have the courage to do that.
The embarrassment in my heart was so overwhelming that I knew I would probably run away if Lando asked me to sit on top of him.
And honestly... I wanted to be the one being ridden—yeah, yeah, I know that was impossible! But let this woman fantasize for a moment!
"Alright..." Lando said as he slowly released my hands from his grip. "If that’s what you want, then let’s get ready first and meet outside in thirty minutes."
I nodded quickly and immediately rushed to my room. When I accidentally passed by Henry, I couldn’t even greet him or answer his question when he asked why my face was so red.
Oh God, thank goodness no one saw us kissing in the dining room. Well... the CCTV might have caught it, but I would ask Lando to delete it later.
Once I stepped into my bedroom, I screamed and jumped in place because I was so happy. The kisses still felt unreal, and the confession we had just shared also felt so sudden.
Even so, I was truly happy. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Not only had I been able to express my love to my husband freely, but one of my main missions would soon be completed.
[Lando’s favorability won’t go up anymore, Host, unless you two sleep together,] Penny said suddenly.
"You pervert system!" I shouted. "Why do you have to make sure we sleep together first before completing my main mission?!"
[...Because Penny doesn’t want you to die as a virgin again, Host.]
I snorted and muttered, "What’s so wrong with dying as a virgin, anyway?"
I didn’t want to deal with Penny anymore, so I quickly changed my clothes. Since the studio would be doing my makeup and hair, I didn’t do anything on my own.
Thirty minutes later, Lando and I were already sitting inside the car. For some reason, today he didn’t use his wheelchair and only brought his crutches instead.
That was why we used a different car, one where there was no barrier between the seats.
"W-Why aren’t you using your wheelchair?" I asked. "You were standing for so long earlier. Won’t your legs hurt?"
Lando held my hand and said, "I’m fine. We’ll only be at the studio, so I won’t need to walk much."
Well, he had a point. But for some reason, I believed the real reason he didn’t use his wheelchair was because he wanted to sit so close to me.
He had even wrapped one arm around my waist and pulled me closer to his side until our arms were pressed together.
Neither he nor I said anything along the way. However, I could feel his hand repeatedly stroking my waist and back, making my stomach feel like it was filled with fluttering butterflies.
If another man had done that, I would’ve slapped his hand away and kicked him in the balls. But when it was Lando, I couldn’t help but lean even closer to him.
I honestly still wanted another kiss, but I didn’t have the courage to do something like that with other people inside the car.
Fortunately, the photo studio wasn’t too far from our manor, so I didn’t have to endure the torment of wanting to kiss him for too long.
Or so I thought.
At the studio, it wasn’t just me who got a makeover, but Lando did too. He wore a fitted black tuxedo paired with a dark gray shirt underneath.
I bit my lower lip, and my legs almost went weak. In my eyes, he looked unbelievably handsome, especially with his hair neatly brushed back.
The moment our eyes met, I felt my heart pounded so loudly.
Lando was already looking at me, his gaze quiet but deep. For a second, I forgot where I was. I forgot that we were in a studio full of people. All I could see was him.
"Do I look strange?" he asked softly.
I quickly shook my head. "No... you look too handsome," I said honestly.
His ears slowly turned red, and he looked away in a shy way that didn’t suit his strong image at all. "You’re the one who looks beautiful today."
My face instantly felt hot again.
I then turned to the side, looking at the large mirror in the dressing room.
The wedding dress I wore was pure white and soft like clouds. The top hugged my body perfectly, showing my waist in an elegant way. The skirt flowed down in smooth layers, as if it would move with even the smallest step.
Tiny crystals were sewn along the edges, catching the light and shining like small stars.
A long, thin veil fell from the back of my head, trailing softly behind me. It made me feel as if I had stepped out of a dream.
My makeup looked soft, with pink and nude as the dominant colors. As for my hair, it had been carefully styled into a soft half-up look.
The top was pinned neatly while the rest fell in loose waves over my shoulders. A small silver hairpiece shaped like tiny flowers was placed among the strands.
Even though the wedding dress I wore was only a rented gown, it somehow managed to capture my beauty and truly made me feel like a bride.
Honestly, this created mixed feelings in my heart. I couldn’t help but wonder, maybe if I had held a proper wedding ceremony with Lando back then, I really would have been able to see myself as a bride.
But forget it. Back then, neither of us had developed any feelings yet, and the only thing I wanted to do at the time was escape from the Davenport residence.
Besides, whether with a formal wedding ceremony or not, in the end, we would still become husband and wife.
"Ms. Orszebet, we have several studio concepts you can choose from for your wedding photoshoot." One of the studio staff handed me a tablet and asked me to choose what kind of theme I wanted.
Honestly, I didn’t really know either. The only thing I wanted was to have a wedding photo with my husband.
"Husband, which one do you like?" I asked Lando as he stood beside me. But instead of paying attention to the images on the tablet, his eyes kept drifting toward my face.
"Anything you like," he said.
I hissed softly, thinking that asking him was pointless. But I could understand it, since in most cases, the one who chose the wedding photo theme was the bride, while the groom simply followed along.
I then turned my head toward the staff. "I actually don’t want a concept that’s too serious. Do you have any recommendations for a theme that... I don’t know, makes the pictures look more lively?"
Most wealthy couples’ wedding photos were either too formal or focused on showing off their wealth, but I didn’t want that.
I wanted to have fun with my husband, something we could remember for many years to come.
The staff tilted her head slightly, then smiled as if she had just thought of something. "If you’d like something more fun without changing the outfits," she said, "we can also provide some playful props instead."
