Reborn With A Technology System In A Fantasy World-Chapter 248: Genesis Garden (1)
Adrian’s eyes were fixed on the console as he began to search the marketplace. Having already discussed the broad strokes of Mara’s plan with the council, he had a clear idea of what he needed.
His choices were not random; they were a meticulously curated portfolio of life, a foundation for their new world, chosen for their efficiency, nutritional value, and, most importantly, their potential for rapid multiplication.
He needed a caloric base that was easy to cultivate in a controlled environment. Rice and Potatoes were the obvious first choices.
For protein, he selected Beans and other hardy legumes. To ensure a balanced diet and prevent the kind of nutrient deficiencies that plagued long-term survival situations, he added a variety of Vegetables, focusing on hardy greens and root vegetables like Onions.
For flavor, morale, and potential medicinal use, Adrian also sought out Spices and Peppers. And finally, for a long-term source of sugar and Vitamin C, he searched for fast-growing Vine Fruits and a cutting from a dwarf Orange tree.
After surfing through the console’s vast database, Adrian was thankful that the Mall had it all. But the prices were, as he had expected... outrageous.
<100g Rice: 100 credits>
<1kg Spinach: 500 credits>
<100g Chili Pepper: 300 credits>
Adrian smiled wryly after he confirmed the absurdity of the market.
"I shouldn’t have expected them to make it easy," he muttered to himself. The prices were a clear form of economic control, designed to make it nearly impossible for them to ever achieve self-sufficiency.
Despite the robbery, Adrian was left with no other choice but to buy. He considered it an investment. The future yields from this tiny, initial stock would be immense. It was definitely worth the cost.
’I’ll earn back every single credit, and then some,’ he thought, his mind already calculating future profit margins. ’It’s just business.’
By the time Adrian was done with his strategic ordering, purchasing just enough of what he wanted to start a viable breeding and cultivation program, he was slapped with the final sum.
<Grand Total: 60,800 GC>
He wasn’t too surprised, as he had been mentally tallying the amount. He simply transferred the credits from his PAD and grabbed the receipt.
With nothing more to attend to in the Mall, he accepted all the purchased goods from the collection platform, and stored them all safely in his [Inventory] before returning via the Transit Hub to their sector.

Adrian didn’t idle after returning. Instead, he got inside his Factory, and assembled a small group to meet him in the Simulation Chamber.
Seconds later, Jeffery, Charles, and Mara materialized in the endless, featureless white space, their expressions a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
"Boss? What’s going on?" Charles inquired.
"I have acquired everything we need for the farm," Adrian said, getting straight to the point. "It’s time we move on to the first phase of the plan." He turned back to him. "Were you successful with the evacuation?"
"Aye, boss," Charles confirmed. "The twenty-five houses in the outer residential block are now empty, as you instructed. We’ve relocated the families to shared housing. Your house is now the only occupied building in that entire section."
"Nice—"
"But Adrian," Charles interrupted. "You haven’t told me why we had to do this. It wasn’t easy moving those people. They’ve only just arrived, and we’re already forcing them to relocate? Some of them openly shared their dissatisfaction. They deserve an explanation."
Adrian looked at the three of them. It was time to reveal his seemingly insane plan. "We’ll be taking down the houses," he said simply. "That is where our farm will be located."
The three of them had their eyes widened in absolute shock. Mara gasped. It felt like pure insanity, hearing that Adrian planned to destroy their already severely limited housing for what they could only see as a risky agricultural experiment.
But they had followed him this far. They had no other choice than to trust him.
It was Jeffery who still voiced the most practical objection. "Uhm... Adrian, I thought we’ve already agreed on how strong those buildings are. It might not be so easy for us to just... smash through them."
"I never expected it to be easy," Adrian replied calmly. "And I don’t need you to simply break the houses. The material they are made of is too valuable for such a brute-force method." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
He paused, letting his true plan sink in. "I want you to uproot them, foundation and all, completely intact. Only then can I store them away with me. I’ll figure out how to make good use of the alloy later."
It was only then that Jeffery realized the true, multi-layered brilliance in Adrian’s decree. A slow, awestruck smile spread across his face.
Not only would this plan leave them with the perfect, cleared, and defensible space for their secret farm, but it would also provide them with an immense stockpile of an unbelievably durable, advanced alloy. It was a perfect win-win!
"Alright, boss," Jeffery said, his mind already racing with the engineering challenge. "I’ll commit all the Transcendents to follow through with your plan. We’ll get it done."
Adrian nodded his head. "Nice. But that’s not all I assembled you for."
He moved his hands, and a massive, detailed hologram of their housing sector appeared in the air between them.
They could all recognize the grid of identical grey houses. Suddenly, Adrian began erasing the twenty-five houses of the designated block, leaving behind a large, empty, and perfectly square section of cleared ground.
When the ground was free once more, Adrian turned to them, his eyes burning with a creator’s fire.
"This is why I called you here," he said, gesturing to the blank slate on the hologram. "The Genesis Garden is the most critical project for our survival. To optimize its functionality, to maximize its yield, and to ensure its safety, we will have to make the most out of its design from the very beginning."
