Reborn With A Technology System In A Fantasy World-Chapter 273: Void Crystal (1)
Adrian ignored the frantic, ecstatic commentary, his focus entirely on the glowing notification that had just flashed on his PAD.
<Congratulations! You have triggered a Special Condition.>
<Automatic Promotion to Platinum League has been granted.>
<Do you accept your promotion?>
[Yes/No]
’Of course,’ Adrian thought, selecting [Yes] immediately. He had some ideas as to why this had happened;bthe Clash system likely had protocols to fast-track anomalies like him to make things easier for them. Whatever the reason, it saved him a whole lot.
However, a seed of caution took root. He had dismantled STONEDESTROYER, yes, but only because he had the luxury of analyzing him first.
He couldn’t yet defeat a true Platinum-ranked fighter on a fair fight, and who knows if his acts attracts attention one day, resulting in means to stop him.
"I’ll take a break for now," he decided. "I need to consolidate my gains. And I need to see what the Factory has for me."
The white light of the arena faded, and Adrian reappeared in the Platinum League Lobby. It was a stark contrast to the chaotic, grimy waiting rooms of the lower tiers.
This space was sleek, quiet, and intimidatingly opulent. The floors were polished obsidian, the lighting was soft and ambient, and the few fighters present moved with a silent, deadly grace. There were no shouting matches here, only the heavy, suffocating pressure of elite power.
He checked his internal clock. He still had twenty minutes left on his Factory cooldown before he could re-enter. He couldn’t waste time.
"I might as well cultivate," he muttered.
From the Platinum League onwards, the lobbies offered specialized facilities for their elite fighters. Adrian navigated to the "High Energy Cultivation Zone," a popular area desired by everyone in the lower leagues. He approached the attendant, a multi-limbed being made of flowing, liquid metal.
"Price?" Adrian asked.
"25 credits per minute for a Public Room. 50 for Private," the attendant chimed.
"Public. Twenty minutes." Adrian transferred 500 credits without hesitation. It was expensive, but he needed to see if the density was worth it.
He was directed to a heavy, sealed door. He entered, and the atmosphere hit him like a physical wall.
The public room was a vast, square chamber, easily 500 meters long, with a ceiling that seemed to extend infinitely upwards into a swirling vortex of energy. But what was truly remarkable was the density of the mana. It was thick, almost liquid, a rich soup of power that was easily ten times denser than the ambient levels of the Nexus.
"I’ll have to come here more often," Adrian whispered, taking a deep breath. He walked to an empty spot on the floor and sat cross-legged.
There were three other aliens present in the vast room, but they were all deeply embroiled in their own cultivation, ignoring him completely. Adrian activated [Omnisense]. To his surprise, he could only sense a mana core from one of them; a slender, orc-like being. The other two, a hulking brute and a floating cloud of light, had no mana signatures at all.
They were cultivating different energies; perhaps Qi, or aether, or something else entirely.
"It’s a pity I can only sense mana," he mused. "The universe is full of power sources I can’t even touch yet."
He closed his eyes and began to cycle his own technique. The dense mana flooded into him, his Transcendent body drinking it in greedily.
The twenty minutes passed in a blink. He was pulled from his trance by a gentle but firm tap on his shoulder. A service drone hovered beside him. "Time expired. Please extend or vacate."
Adrian stood and walked out, feeling refreshed and slightly stronger. The three other cultivators hadn’t moved an inch.
He walked some distance away from the Cultivation Booth, finding a secluded corner in the opulent lobby. The timer in his mind had long hit zero.
"Visit Factory."
He vanished from the lobby and reappeared in the familiar, sterile white of his workshop. He didn’t waste a second. He strode directly to the Deconstruction Matrix.
The Void Crystal was gone.
Adrian couldn’t help but let out a small sigh of regret. That crystal was a rare treasure, a key to untold power. But he knew the trade was worth it. He navigated to the control panel, and his eyes widened.
The display was scrolling with gigabytes of data. It wasn’t just a report; it was an encyclopedia. He scrolled through pages of complex energy wave-forms, molecular structures, and theoretical physics equations that would have baffled the greatest minds of his old world.
Adrian’s eyes glowed with delight as he read on, his mind racing to keep up. He couldn’t hold it anymore.
"Assimilate Data."
The transfer took less than a second, but the impact was profound. When Adrian finally opened his eyes, he was trembling with excitement.
"This... these can pave a new path!"
He had learned the truth about Void Crystals. Unlike Magic Crystals, which were simple batteries for mana, Void Crystals were containers of Essence.
They held the crystallized concept of the being they came from. It could be a fusion of energies, Qi, Aether, Mana, Psionics, etcetera. but the defining trait was the nature of the creature.
The Oculon’s crystal, for example, contained the essence of "Observation" and "Psychic Dominance." A fire elemental’s Void Crystal would contain the essence of "Combustion." Only special species mostly those in this area of the Galaxy had the privilege of forming these crystals upon death.
But the most important revelation was something Adrian suspected the Concordat didn’t fully understand. Void Crystals weren’t just fuel. They were components.
With this knowledge, he could do more than just power a machine. He could imprint the essence of a Void Crystal onto an invention. He could build a surveillance system using an Oculon crystal that could "see" through stealth fields. He could build a weapon using a fire-beast’s crystal that didn’t just burn, but conceptually consumed.
The versatility was endless. He had the theory. He had the method. All he needed now were more crystals.
As he began to formulate a plan to hunt in the Platinum League, the System blinked, interrupting Adrian’s thoughts.
