Regressing Through the Apocalypse with the Third Male Lead-Chapter 43: Volume 2.
Chapter 43: Volume 2. Chapter 43
The tension was palpable as Freyah looked up at the monster standing beyond them. This monster had evolved seven times more than the others, with its four eyes looking intensely at them, growling menacingly. Its reddish-brown, muscular skin and a height of 100 feet were truly intimidating.
The Gargantula.
It was on standby as if studying them as well.
This was not good, if they would fight here the whole village would suffer consequences. "Let’s divert its attention from the village to another place" Freyah spoke firmly, turning to face them, everyone was still on high alert as they faced the current enemy threatening their place.
"Do I need to run and get its attention?" Harley asked, suggesting. he was already in the position to run towards the monster and do what was on his mind just like everyone who is also eager to do something to protect the village at all cost. After all, it would be a waste of their efforts if they were to let it be destroyed.
Cherellyn stepped in, determination etched on her face as she looked at Freyah, "I have been practicing this since then." She stepped forward and raised her hand with her two fingers in front. Then she closed her eyes, focusing. The wind started to circulate her as letters and characters started to appear midair dancing around her.

The letters and characters started to glow and
as it collided and mix with each other it formed into one huge gigantic snake. It was black and white in color, its scales glistening, It was around 60 ft, almost half the size of the Gargantula but just enough to attract its attention. It flew in the air. Then Cherellyn started to control it midair in front of the monster, like a puppet following her movements.
The Gargantula’s shifts attention as the snake captures its eyes. It roared terribly, echoing in the sky and making a strong impact to the lower ground, sending shivers to Cherellyn and all those who heard it. Its eyes fixed intensely to the snake as if it had seen it as a prey to hunt. Then with a swift of its hand the fight started and it was trying to take hold of the snake. However, the moment it touched the snake, it passed through its body and the letters and characters dispersed. The strong force was palpable in the air. When it retracted its hands, the snake’s body became whole again.
The monster roared again, enraged, but Cherallyn smirked proudly. She immediately waved both hands, and the snake, controlled by her wave, fled from the monster, initiating the chase. The monster, clearly furious and enraged by this, followed the snake with heavy steps, each heavy step causing the ground to tremble.
The Gargantula was roaring intensely as it chased after the fleeting snake eager to destroy and take it down.
"It’s getting away now!" Cherellyn yelled to them in success, breathing heavily as if she had just run to a marathon. Her voice was hinting of exhaustion but pleased with her successful jon as she watched the Gargantula move away from the village walls to chase the snake like a fool.
"I thought you were creating a dragon?" Cheral asked, almost teasing as he patted her shoulder as she stepped beside her. Her expression was full of pride towards her sister.
"A Dragon will take more of my energy than this." Cherellyn shrugged, " besides my snake works" She added with a smirk, but they can’t afford to waste time now. "Do your thing now. This is as far as I can control the snake." Signaling Cheral who gave her a nod.
{Name: Cheral Magsombol}
Title: Third-Year BA in Graphic Design, younger twin of Cherellyn
Skills:
Psychic Skill: Inanimate Creation Manipulation
Physical Skill: Locked
Soul Skill: Locked}
"Alright. Alright. It’s my time to shine. Everyone! Behold!" Cheral smirked, excited as she called out to them confidently and then flicked his right fingers. Then it was the same with Cherellyn. Letters appeared midair glowing as they danced in the air then it started to form into 90 feet thick pillars. One by one it surrounded the Gargantula, like it was locking it in place, cornering it. Then Cheral waved his hand. Below the monster, mannequins started to form one by one, each one glowing in their position.
The snake then dispersed The Gargantula momentarily went confuse but it roared again and now the Gargantula’s attention was caught by these fake mannequins, It gazes was intense, enraged.
"I have read it in the manual." Cheral said. "Level 7 evolve monster. Gargantula. It’s really freaky seeing it now. It has tremendous strength but despite having four eyes, it could only see blurred images. Its brain was on its right chest." She claimed with her eyes fixed on the Gargantula’s right chest as if she had locked her target.
Cheral and Cherellyn then both slumped on the ground, exhausted while taking their time to regain their strength back because using these two skills at once took a lot of energy from them even now that it was their first time using it for real but as they looked at the Gargantula, their face was filled with a sense of satisfaction, they already put it on place.
"You two did an excellent job." Freyah praises a hint of pride for them, then she turns to Harley "Harley, bring these two back to the evacuation rooms. Then return here to assist us." She commanded without hesitation.
"I can still fight!" Cheral and Cherellyn with eyes widened exclaimed in protest at the same time, The fight was just starting but Freyah wanted them out already, No way they wanted that, they didn’t want to be left out just like that when they’re starting to have fun.
Freyah nodded her head looking at the twin as if she was considering their words but she then turned back to Harley who got the signal and nod, getting her command. He approached the twins and grabbed both their arms before Cheral and Cherellyn could protest more, Harley whispered something. In an instant, the three of them disappeared at a lightning speed.
"The three of them improved tremendously." Eman said and walked beside Freyah with his eyes narrowed at the Gargantula, watching while it was still roaring intensely at a safe distance pouring its anger and rage by smashing the mannequins in the distance like what other monsters would usually tend to do.
"Yes." Freyah replied in satisfaction, The three of them really improved and will improve more. "Are you good to go now?" She turned to Florence who had been seated all these times to the ground, still recovering.
"Well, that’s an unexpected hit. But I have faced many frightening enemies before. This is nothing, Milady." Florence brushed it off as he mustered all of his strength to stand up but he was still looking pale, His strength must have been really drained at the moment.
On the stories, it was always Kathleen who used purification magic when dealing with demons. So Mostly, Florence was focused on the battlefield all the time.
This might be the only time he used such huge spell of purification magic to exterminate the cocoon but although the sphere still doesn’t disappear in the air, it was reduced and became smaller than before and it helps by having the horde of zombies retreat for now making it much easier for them to focus on the target. For now they needed to make sure that the Gargantula would be dealt with as soon as possible so it would be much easier to destroy the sphere at once because It was attracting too many unexpected monsters.
"Stay here for now, I’ll face this one. I fought it multiple times before so Just back me up in the distance." At those words, Freyah said firmly and dashed towards the Gargantula leaving Eman and Florence on standby,
As Freyah took notice of the situation, most of the mannequins were completely smashed at this moment as the Gargantula continued to hit and destroy them. It was just a matter of time before it went back to the walls of the village. Freyah didn’t want to waste the kids’ efforts to divert its attention from the village and so the real fight will start now.
Freyah’s eyes narrowed as she glanced at the monster’s right chest. Each powerful smash created a strong force that made the ground tremble and sent smoke billowing across the scene. Freyah used the smoke as cover while she strategized her next move.
The ground continued to shake and tremble by the monsters’ continuous rampage, With a heavy force the Gargantula smashed the last of the mannequins and roared fiercely, claiming victory over the toys with it sensing Freyah who were now preparing to attack.
