Regressor Instruction Manual-Chapter 1144: A Slightly Early Timing (2)
Chapter 1144: A Slightly Early Timing (2)
‘Why are they here?’
A wave of indescribable nervousness struck me out of nowhere.
I was sure most of the people here had no idea who they were or how strong they were, but they probably had an idea.
There wasn’t a single ant in this ruined city, and three angels abruptly descended from the sky.
It was an unusual and incomprehensible sight, but it was easy to assume that they were responsible for turning Harizel into this state. Moreover, they had descended as if they were the mid-boss of a dungeon.
“A-Angels?” Lim Chae-Ryeong mumbled in a daze.
‘They are technically angels.’
Her reaction was only natural, as they actually looked like angels. They had pure white wings, delicate faces, and youthful features that made them look like the very angels humans had imagined. They were also exuding the purity of angels.
‘They’ve grown a lot.’
They looked like elementary school students when I left, but now, they looked like they were in their teens. Children truly grow fast. I saw Thronus expressing hostility with that teenage face of his.
Lim Chae-Ryeong seemed to have finally realized that Woo Hyo-Yeol was attacked just a few moments ago, as she took a step backward and took out her dagger.
Raymond Bolt also got ready to fight.
They labeled them as enemies before questioning where they came from and why they were here. Everyone was fully aware of the fact that they were enemies.
The sweat on Nam Goong-Seon’s face rolled down to her cheeks and dropped to the ground. They were kids, but the party members were aware that they had encountered beings who had transcended human limits.
“W-Why… isn’t… S-Sera here…” Jung Ha-Yan mumbled strange words with her head lowered, while the non-combatant No Dam-Hye just collapsed on the ground.
It was a tense situation where a battle could break out at any moment.
And that was when Cheru muttered, “Father.”
“...”
“Father.”
I pretended that he was a stranger to me. I widened my eyes, and I acted as if I was asking if he was referring to me. I acted kind of scared. I stepped backward and bit my lips, looking wary of them.
Of course, Cheru was disappointed.
Based on the situation, it seemed like he had already heard what happened, but…
‘Is he crying?’
He seemed to have a hard time controlling his emotions, and it wasn't that strange, as he still had the mind of a child. It wasn’t just Cheru. Thro and Domi frowned in surprise as well.
“We already knew this, so don’t be upset, Thro,” Cheru said.
‘Don’t say that when you have tears in your eyes, Cheru.’
“Okay.”
“Domi…”
“Auntie is here as well. Is it possible with just the three of us?” Domi asked.
“I’m sure her powers have been sealed, so shouldn’t it be enough? The three of them are weak and the remaining two… don’t look that strong either,” Cheru answered.
“Do you think she lost her memories as well?” Domi asked.
“I don’t know, but she’s likely listening to our father’s words,” Cheru replied.
“What about trying to convince her? If we talk to her—”
“We don’t have time for that. Father is here. You don’t think we have the advantage, do you? Our opponent is our father. Don’t forget that,” Cheru interrupted Domi.
“Father lost his memories. He's our father, but…”
“We still need to stay on our toes. Father is…”
‘What are they whispering about?’
“But… is it really okay to do this? To father…” Thro asked.
“Don’t think like that, Thro! We’re not aiming our swords at him. We’re fighting Rohen, the continent that took Father away from us. Our mothers and Master agreed to this…” Cheru retorted.
“...”
“So keep your guard up,” Cheru added.
‘You don’t have to keep your guard up.’
“What about… the others?” Thro asked.
‘What do you mean? You guys are being nerfed.’
The four Outer Gods were prohibited from killing humans, at least until Ji-Hye noona and I had come to an agreement.
“Father will be sa, so—”
“Yeah, I got it,” Thro interrupted Domi.
“Are you okay, Domi?” Cheru asked.
“It’s kind of complicated. Auntie is here… so I can’t use anything powerful,” Domi answered.
“Okay, then don’t overdo it and just support us from the back,” Cheru instructed her.
“Okay.”
‘Shouldn't we come up with a plan like what they're doing?’
There wasn’t a need to do that because our main objective was escaping this place, and the one giving out orders would be. Of course they would overestimate me, but no matter how much I thought about it, we were likely going to lose this fight.
Woo Hyo-Yeol could match their moves somehow, but…
‘The remaining three are the issue.’
If Domi really gave it her all, Jung Ha-Yan wouldn't be able to protect the other three.
Raymond Bolt, the veteran, would turtle up to ensure that the formation wouldn't shatter.
Even if those kids couldn't perform as well as during their peak… it appeared as though they weren't being nerfed. However, I had an answer as to why they could wander outside the Ashen Sunset Region.
‘So you guys got visas as the Outer Gods and snuck in here.’
I wasn’t surprised by that, as they sneaked into our continent as well.
What surprised me was that they were deployed as reconnaissance agents.
It wasn’t a bad choice if one considered it as an effort to expand their influence outside the Ashen Sunset Region. They were still young, but they were capable of making reasonable decisions, except for Sera.
Of course, there was no need for me to mention their strength.
Domi's teleportation, which was her special power, was suitable for this mission.
‘And Ha-Yan can hold off the chase…’
If I were to analyze each and every one of them, I believed everyone could get out of this alive, but I wondered if we really had to do that. After all, Woo Hyo-Yeol’s party needed to experience defeat. My time in Rohen was short, and I didn’t have a lot of time to work with Woo Hyo-Yeol.
Every episode was important, so sudden events like this were important for the story.
‘Is it too soon to lose comrades?’
He hadn't even gotten close to them…
There wasn’t much time to think because Thronus and Cherubim immediately charged at me. A member from our side ran out as if they had been waiting for them to make a move. It was obviously Woo Hyo-Yeol.
“Grandpa!” I shouted.
“Got it,” Raymond answered.
“Miss Ha-Yan, over there!” I instructed.
“Ah, okay, oppa!” Jung Ha-Yan said.
“Get it together, everyone!” I shouted.
‘It looks like someone doesn’t have any intention of escaping.’
Cherubim and Woo Hyo-Yeol's weapons collided with a loud clang!
Out of the Outer Gods, he was the most physically fit, so Cherubim had to have decided to take on the hardest challenge. The way he wielded his long scythe made him look like a rebellious teenager, but his combat style was anything but.
He had to have considered the fact that Woo Hyo-Yeol’s weapon was short, as he wasn't swinging his scythe with a lot of strength.
Woo Hyo-Yeol focused on using the tip of his sword to defend, but he hadn’t completely given up on attacking.
Cherubim swung his sword powerfully for the first time in a while.
After bending backward to dodge the scythe, Woo Hyo-Yeol slid toward Cherubim.
Cherubim spread his wings and moved backward. Then, he tried to grab Woo Hyo-Yeol by the neck. This was a basic but effective strategy—using mid-range attacks to control the enemy before closing in from behind, but…
Clang!
Woo Hyo-Yeol turned around as if he had been waiting for it and blocked the scythe flying toward him from behind.
“Huh?”
It was a beast-like movement, and he had actually used that momentum to charge at his opponent.
Woo Hyo-Yeol’s dual swords were shorter than normal swords, but longer than daggers, and his instincts made him use those weapons to target Cherubim's lower body.
The startled Cherubim had to have thought that he wouldn’t be able to block Woo Hyo-Yeol's attack because he wrapped his wings around himself.
Boom!
The attack was ineffective because Woo Hyo-Yeol’s level wasn’t high enough to pierce Cherubim’s Endurance.
“Cheru! Are you okay?!” Thronus asked.
“Yeah, don’t worry about me, Thro. He’s just a little tricky to deal with. He’s like a beast,” Cherubim answered.
“...”
“Can you beat him?” Thronus asked.
“Yeah, I don’t think I’ll lose. More importantly, take care of Father for me,” Cherubim requested.
‘I agree.’
Woo Hyo-Yeol was clearly more skilled. If Cherubim were the type to cling to the fundamentals like William, he would have struggled, but that wasn’t the case at all.
In fact, even Hee-Ra noona had acknowledged him as an equal.
‘He really likes to fight as well.’
Cherubim was just pretending that he had a good foundation.
He pretended to be level-headed and rational as if he were seeing things with a cold and logical mindset. The color of his hair made him look like a typical water-type character, but his demeanor made him look like a fire-type character.
Of course, he often hid that side of him.
Cherubim charged at Woo Hyo-Yeol and swung his scythe.
I couldn’t really see him this time because Thro was flying toward me.
“Miss Ha-Yan! Enhancement magic! Give me everything you got!” I shouted.
“O-Okay, oppa,” Jung Ha-Yan answered.
“Nam Goong-Seon, what are you doing?! Buff me! Miss Chae-Ryeong, get into formation now!” I shouted.
“O-Okay! What should I do now? What do I do now, Mr. Lee Ki-Young?!” Nam Goong-Seong asked.
“...”
“...”
“Run to the Adventurer Guild!” I answered.
“What?!”
‘If we’re going to fight, I need to change the map at least. This terrain puts us at a huge disadvantage.’
“We’re going to leave Harizel while moving toward the building! I’m going to keep supporting Mr. Hyo-Yeol,” I said.
Thronus couldn't use any abilities with huge AoEs, as he had to make sure that I wouldn't get hurt. Moreover, he didn’t have such AoE abilities in the first place.
He was strong, but his abilities were pretty simple.
He wielded a longsword rather than a typical sword. His prowess could be cut down by half in small spaces, and we could prevent him from flying around freely.
Thronus swung his sword at the party’s tank.
After taking a deep breath, Grandpa Bolt tensed his arms, but he lost his balance. If it hadn't been for Jung Ha-Yan’s enhancement magic, he would have been blasted away along with his shield.
“Don’t rush ahead, Miss Chae-Ryeong,” I ordered.
“But Grandpa!”

“He’ll be fine,” I told her.
Lim Chae-Ryeong looked worried. This was definitely the first time she had encountered a powerful opponent, so she had to be feeling helpless. I probably looked the same as her.
For some reason, I had a feeling that we were going to lose a comrade even though it was a bit early for that.
I could feel it…
The timing to sacrifice someone to help the party grow was getting close.
‘W-Who should I sacrifice?’
