Chapter 661: Chapter 661: Noel The Great

To the lions, Noel was the most righteous entity that could ever grace the essence of the universe.

He was not exactly benevolent, as he had his own moments of wrath against his own kind, but compared to Jin, Noel seemed like a genuinely good person.

Unfortunately, only the lions could share this outlook on Noel’s character. Other creatures did not see Noel as a being worthy of their admiration, they saw him and every lion as cancers that should be eliminated.

Even though every faction at this time was more or less the bad guy, the lion civilization could still be considered one of the greatest gatherings of villains ever.

One had to remember that before this great war, another war had occurred about seven million years ago, which was just as brutal.

The war that was sparked by the murder of Derylia, leading to Sakan, her lover and the son of the Primordial Dragon of that time, going mad with rage and promising to end them.

Unfortunately, Sakan died under the combined might of the top powerful lions of that time.

This was the final nail that cemented Ibadon’s strange mindset concerning vengeance.

The reason he was yet to let go of his desire for revenge was something else entirely.

Because of the first war, both the lions and the dragons suffered greatly, losing a lot of resources.

The dragons were still a bit better off as they had their Primordial Dragon around to help them speed run the recovery as well as some reserve dragon officials.

The lions were much worse as they had no Primordial to help them, there was even a growing resentment toward the existence of Primordial Lions starting to rise with time. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

They had been on the receiving end of this war, enduring as much as possible the rampage that Sakan and his officials had performed in Leonine Heaven.

To recover back to their peak was not going to be easy.

They had to replenish raw materials, re-establish Vassal factions, and set up tribute-gathering systems all over again.

Then there was the hassle of rebuilding many pyramids and arkships, both of which would take extremely long periods of time to build without a high-powered entity.

At last, they had lost a lot of their population.

They were reduced to just one-third of their peak numbers.

So many powerful kings had died.

Most lions would die before reaching tier 4, moreover tier 5 or 6.

The amount of time it would take for the tier 7 lions to return was scary as it could literally take millions of years.

Six million years later, while the lions were still recovering, Noel was born in the mortalverse.

The dragons had already fully recovered by this time and the lions were still trying to acquire more vassals to support themselves.

This meant that in the following one million years, Noel had to not only get stronger, but speed run the recovery of the lion race.

The presence of a Primordial was one thing, the presence of a competent Primordial was another thing.

Noel had basically done in one million years what had taken the dragons six million years to do.

The lifespan of a tier 7 entity, irrespective of whether they were a Primordial or normal, was usually one hundred thousand years.

It could be more or less depending on different factors but it was always around that number.

But the records say that Noel had achieved immortality in less than a thousand years.

Less than a thousand years.

This meant that by the time close to a million years had passed and the next great war had begun, Noel had literally spent most of his life as an immortal tier entity.

This must have given him enough time to rise from a weak immortal to a super-powerful one that could challenge Ibadon.

What drove him?

What drove him to achieve such feats?

Was it fear?

No.

The only fear Noel.was reported to have shown openly was his fear of not fulfilling his duty before he died, he feared not achieving anything in his progress of The Conquering.

So, it was his duty.

He saw it as his duty to push the lions to greater heights. Not only because he cared for the lions in a twisted way, but that was his purpose as the Primordial Affiliated with the Law of Conquering.

In the last moments of Noel’s life, no one knew what he had been thinking.

Even Kael who had his memories did not know as that particular scene was distorted.

He attempted to observe the battle of immortals through the eyes of an immortal when he was still a mere mortal.

It didn’t work.

For Kael, every scene was a headache-inducing blur.

He wanted to see clearly just what had happened.

And with the help of the time machine, he was able to see it.

The fight.

The shattered reality, everything happening within an instant.

Kael and Memphis were like the spectators to a forbidden game meant for only a select few eyes.

The pressure on their bodies at this moment was crushing.

How long have they been watching this battle?

They had to slow everything down so that it could be comprehensible for them. Even Memphis who was already on the brink of breaking through found it hard to keep up.

The interior of the time machine was gone, replaced with the environment of a shattered reality belonging to the Draconic Heaven.

Kael gritted his teeth, watching as the colossal Ibadon clawed his way out of the shrinking spatial bridge.

Kael could see through the gaps that a couple of galaxies had been snuffed out of existence.

At the same time, the clones of the mysterious Primordial Cat, which numbered in the thousands attacked Noel relentlessly.

The Primordial Cat was not as strong as Noel or Ibadon, but he tried his best. He was probably this audacious because he had some clones somewhere else that would guarantee his continued survival.

Ibadon practically crushed the distance between him and Noel, appearing in front of the golden lion in the blink of an eye.

It was also at this moment that a vicious light flashed through Noel’s eyes. A peaceful yet sorrowful smile adorned his golden-furred face.

His heart stopped beating.

And then...

*BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!...*
