Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 667: The Sword
Shuri stared at the flashing lights in the sky with a mix of apprehension and excitement.
She shouldn’t be happy that these lions were coming. After all, she was merely supposed to be here to guide the evacuation of her hyena kin.
But since a fight was inevitable, she would embrace it.
As the tension in the atmosphere increased, blaring sirens could be heard from below.
The hair on Shuri’s body stood on end as she felt the killing intent rising into the sky. It was like the caress of a lover she had always known.
She could feel the hyena kin below also detecting the incoming hostile. The hyena population of this planet was advanced enough to possess a high level of magic-based technology.
Of course, they could detect incoming objects through their low orbit and ground-based satellites.
The sirens that resounded everywhere were the alarm systems going haywire after the revelation of these incoming enemies.
Weren’t they supposed to be packing up so that they could evacuate? How unlucky could they be to be present at this particular moment?
"You, President Musty will not be happy. You are not supposed to draw attention to yourselves!" The Horse Governor chastised.
Yes, his status was much lower than these Primordials, but that didn’t mean he would not say what he wanted to say when he wanted to say it.
It wasn’t like they could kill him.
Ren shook his head, "Stop worrying about the past, Governor. There are enemies ahead," He said.
The Governor snorted.
All three of them didn’t seem to be that serious about it even though they talked in a serious mood. They were not panicking.
They were confident in their power.
Ren, gaining a divine presence due to his white robe fluttering in the wind, raised his hand up.
Instantly, it was like the world was forced to stand still.
The blowing wind became sharper and more intentional in its movement.
Ren flipped his palm slowly, allowing the surface of his palm to face the sky.
And then, Sword Essence converged.
Streams of light began to collect at the center of Ren’s open palm, forming into a long object that grew to the length of his leg.
The light kept on condensing and it could be felt that this object that he was creating was really dense.
Soon, the light faded away to reveal an item that was widely known but hardly used in real-world scenarios.
A sword.
Ren clasped his fingers around the ordinary-looking handle. The sword seemed to be made of a material that looked like a mix of metal and glass.
This was a manifestation of the Sword Essence.
The only material that was fit to be made into a sword.
Not metal, not wood, but Sword Essence.
Ren brought the sword down to his side gently. That simple movement of his caused the air to tremble.
"Allow me to test their strength first," Ren requested very politely.
"Sure," Shuri shrugged her shoulders and agreed, knowing that this was most likely just going to escalate the matter.
Exactly what she wanted.
Ren flew ahead slowly and brought the sword up to his chest again.
He kept one hand behind his back, keeping an elegant stance that would make any human sword master fawn over him unhealthily.
By now, the flashing lights were mostly gone as the metal hulls that were reflecting those flashing lights could now be seen clearly.
So many.
There were two arkships and tens of thousands of magic shuttles coming their way.
No cannon blasts were fired yet, probably because the lions had not yet sensed any significant threats that would warrant that they blast hell to the planet.
Ren took a deep breath, keeping the translucent sword close to him.
He scanned the sky with one eye and kept watching his blade with the other. He was in the zone, he was in the moment.
Suddenly, his expression was no longer gentle. His gaze seemed to cut all the air particles in front of him.
Ren leaned his body forward slightly and moved his sword-holding arm.
He moved.
It was instant.
His arm waved forward and the sword acted as an extension of his arm and will. It projected his power to the world.
"Universal cut..." Ren muttered to himself.
*SLASH!*
The sky was split into two.
Among the formation of magic shuttles that were coming down, a long line of them that stretched from the east to the west was cut apart.
Their metallic hulls separated from each other cleanly, the edges of the cur so spiffy that one may see their reflections on the edges.
It was only after a second that the shuttles realized that they had been cut, and they finally exploded.
Bright lights filled the sky once again, but they were not the mesmerizing glow of the hulls of shuttles reflecting light from the day’s star.
It was the warm glow of engines and magic reactors after they exploded into bits.
Some of these shuttles had already torn their way into the atmosphere so the sounds of explosions could be heard clearly.
Soon, there would be a rain of falling metal debris.
Meanwhile, Ren just stood there with his sword held to the side. The wind had picked up, forming a mini cyclone around him just because of the might of his arm movements.
His gaze was sharp, measuring the sky and making sure that he had hit all his targets.
One sword to cleave the world, a playful smirk appeared on his lips before being wiped away fast.
Composure and stance must be maintained at all costs and at all times.
Ren turned his head to the side slightly. At that same time, a gust of hot wind slammed down from the sky, blowing his black hair to the back and pushing the hems of his white robes.
"Let’s wait," Ren said, his ordinary-looking eyes revealing a playful look.
This individual called Ren might look normal but he hid a nasty and psychotic desire to cut things down with his sword.
Shuri looked at all the explosions caused by her colleague with a wide smile.
"Hmm," The Horse Governor was also watching this when he noticed something. His spirit sense had been spread out all this time and he was very sensitive to everything happening around him.
He was now just wondering why it looked like the air particles were moving in reverse.
How was that even possible?
"You guys, be careful..."
Alas, it was too late. Memphis appeared like a ghost in front of Ren and grabbed his smiling face before he could react.
