Chapter 670: Chapter 670: Knee-To-Face

The crater in the ground trembled.

The hyenas that were running over the molten rocks were shocked to witness a being shooting out of the ground at insane speeds.

"WORLD SPLITTING SLASH!"

Ren declared with the voice of heaven, his words seemingly causing the immensity of his attack to increase by several folds.

In the moment he had bashed his way out of the cooling crater, a new sword had appeared in Ren’s right hand.

It was the same translucent sword with a mighty aura.

As soon as he declared the name of his technique, the sword had already been swung.

Instantly, the world appeared to be split in half.

Tier 6 or not, the true might of a Primordial was not to be joked with.

An invisible and tangible slash literally flew out in the direction that Ren had slashed.

Most especially, Memphis was in the direct line of this attack as well as many unfortunate shuttles and lions that had jumped out of their shuttles.

Before the slash got to Memphis, many lions were split into two parts and many shuttles exploded into two mushroom groups.

The void itself was being cut asunder as the world screamed in agony.

The inhabitants of the world all stopped for that moment to watch this world-splitting slash.

However, Memphis reacted the same way a human would view a large ant attacking him or her. Such a minor inconvenience was amusing at best.

Even when she was tier 7, Memphis would have thought of or prepared many ways to counter this attack.

For now, Memphis just flicked her fingers.

The world stopped everything it was doing at that moment.

The tangible world splitting slash that stretched its edge across the wide sky stopped a couple of hundred meters away from her outstretched finger.

Ren was frozen in time with his arm still stretched out in a funny way.

It had to be known that this time freeze wasn’t restricted to Memphis sight and environment. Based on her will, she had frozen time across the whole planet and its low orbit.

Even the bubbling magma deep in the ground had paused.

Memphis sighed.

In theocal.sky and earth of this world, she alone remained a vector quantity, everything else was static.

She looked around, suddenly enveloped with a feeling of loneliness.

Was this what it felt like to be too powerful?

So being too powerful was an actual thing?

With a snap of her fingers, she could easily render everyone on this planet incapable of defending themselves.

What was the point of fighting then?

She was to endure an eternity of this kind of easy activity when she could just maintain her introvertedness on her mountain.

Or, she could spend her time close to Kael. An Eternity with the All-King seemed rather exciting, especially if he became an immortal too.

Memphis’s green eyes flashed with desire. She wanted Kael to become an immortal so that she would not be lonely for all of eternity.

Boredom was the number one cause for suicide among immortals who had lived for too long.

There was no boring moment with Kael, or the lions in general.

Then, Memphis took her mind away from the casual thoughts to the matter at hand.

She flew away from the trajectory of the World Splitting Slash, flying toward Ren’s frozen body.

With an arm coated in the tangible glow of time, she grabbed Ren, preventing him from bursting into a cloud of blood as she moved him through frozen time.

She positioned him at the same spot that she had been at the start of the battle, directly in front of the incoming world-splitting slash.

Ren’s expression was still frozen in that serious and slightly playful look that he always had.

Memphis chuckled at how chaotic things would be once she had time to move normally.

And that was what she did.

Once she was some distance away, Memphis snapped her fingers.

Time started moving normally again.

"What the..." Life returned to the atmosphere and it was as if nothing had happened.

Nothing seemed to change besides Ren suddenly finding himself floating in a different position without his will.

Obviously, Ren was able to sense where his own Sword Essence was moving so he instantly saw his own attack coming toward him.

What blasphemous sorcery was this?

Quickly, Ren raised his sword vertically with both hands gripping the handle.

This time, he did not announce the name of his technique. He just defended.

As soon as the tangible slash of the World Splitting Slash came in contact with the sword, Ren was blasted backward.

Although he successfully cancelled out the existence of the World Splitting Slash, his body pierced through multiple unlucky shuttles, leaving them in terrible conditions before coming to a stop.

Unlike before, Ren was utterly shocked right now.

Using physical strength to push him hard into the ground was astounding but he would still wrap his head around such a thing happening.

But now, Memphis had somehow switched positions with him and he didn’t even feel the space around him getting distorted.

Was that possible?

Memphis was supposed to be a Time Lioness.

One would expect some kind of time bubble technique or super speed action, not this one that made Ren feel completely vulnerable.

There was no way he could even defend himself.

"Tell Mr President to send someone to save you. If not, you’ll be coming with me to Leonine Heaven.

I’m sure Katari will teach you a thing or two about playing with sharp objects," Memphis said casually as she turned her back to the battles and the stunned Ren.

Her words reached the ears of Ren and everyone in the aerial battlefield.

Unfortunately, Ren could not comprehend the heavy threat contained in that final sentence.

"Hey bitch!" Shuri’s shout came from the east followed by the sound of something breaking past the sonic barrier.

The earth, trees, and air were split apart as Shuri charged from the horizon with an arm positioned to throw a devastating punch.

As she moved, she absorbed War Essence from her surroundings, empowering herself with various traits that turned her into a perfect fighting machine.

Unfortunately, she would not be able to show off these traits.

Memphis, still acting casual, had already sensed Shuri coming. That punch was coming straight for her face.

And it was coming fast.

*BAM!*

Memphis’s blonde hair blew back as the fist landed squarely on her cheek.

Her head was tilted to the side slightly, meaning that a punch would have actually caused significant damage to a small planet if that was its target.

But Memphis’s head merely tilted to the side a little.

Shuri was the one who reacted like she had been attacked.

The bones in her arm trembled, feeling numb and pain-filled at the same time.

Shuri couldn’t feel her shoulder.

As someone who had grown up as a warrior, she was a master at enduring pain so all she did was groan while gritting her teeth.

She reacted fast, pulling her fist back and preparing to deliver the second punch which was sure to be much stronger.

Memphis’s green eyes rolled.

"Bitch?" She asked, not forgetting the insult Shuri used to season her attack, "That’s ironic coming from you."

Then Memphis leaned to the back very casually, dodging the second punch.

With Memphis’s head out of the way, the fist shot forward with its angle aimed slightly at the ground. The condensed air pressure of the punch erupted and blasted a wide hole into the earth.

"A maiden of war, how pathetic," That was what Shuri heard before the world started spinning.

Memphis grabbed her by her mohawk and brought her head down with force. At once, her knee was raised.

*BAM!*

Memphis’s knee smashed Shuri’s nose inward and cracked the sides of her skull.

Everything happened before Shuri got the chance to retract her second fist.

Brutal and fast.

It was a pity that Shuri would be the first to find out why Memphis had more friends than enemies.

An introverted lioness was still a lioness.

"Uugrh!" Shuri groaned as Memphis let go of her mohawk. She tried to scream but some parts of her jaw were sticking to her neck and preventing her from producing any meaningful words.

Suddenly, Memphis disappeared from her position just as an invisible slash rushed toward her from behind.

"Shuri!" Ren shouted and exercised supreme control over his Sword Essence, preventing the slash from harming Shuri.

Shuri’s mind was not in the right place. As her face healed rapidly, she still fell from the sky, collapsing to the ground like a bag of sand.

That knee-to-face smash was devastating.

Ren hissed as he observed her face. He also kept his senses out, looking for Memphis but couldn’t find her anywhere.

"Now look at this one?" Memphis’s voice thundered from the west. Ren’s eyes grew sharp and he ’saw’ Memphis floating in the sky and watching the Horse Governor.

The Horse Governor had already recovered and was actually busy using his superior spirit powers to fight against the lion invasion.

A tier 6 governor against these weaker invaders. Was that fair?

"That’s not good, let my lions play, hehehehe," Memphis chuckled but the Horse Governor felt a cold chill go down his spine.
