Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 678: You Are Ignorant
Emperor Zain was not crying, he just wanted to mourn a little bit more.
Who was he mourning? It was none other than Victoria.
Emperor Zain had been here, on this mountain for the past one week.
He had actually planned on staying here for at least a year, but he was interrupted by the arrival of Memphis and Seth.
His face was dry, and his cheeks showed signs of agitation. The long silver grey beards and eyebrows quivered ever so slightly at the wake of his little movements.
His two hands were pressed ceremoniously on his lap, his head was bowed, and his aura was frightening.
Memphis and Seth stood in silence, Seth did not dare to do anything. From the fluctuations in Emperor Zain’s aura, he guessed that this transformation was a recent event.
"When I came back," Emperor Zain started, getting the attention of the two other immortals, "I was flooded with many questions.
My people asked their emperor, ’Where is his most loyal disciple?’
My most loyal disciple.
I sacrificed her.
How could I tell them that?
So, I lied to them.
Their emperor lied to them.
I have forsaken the oath Victoria made to me the day she became my disciple.
What kind of Emperor am I?
And the others.
They don’t know that I also do this for them.
If I don’t achieve full embodiment, they will all go extinct.
They cannot see beyond the veil of the universe.
We the immortals, are the only ones who know just how cruel this universe is!
Oh, Victoria...
Your sacrifice truly wasn’t in vain.
But it pains me that this was how you had to go."
Emperor Zain said calmly.
If not for the fact that Memphis and Seth had enhanced vision, they would wonder what he was saying.
That’s because he wasn’t talking to them, he was talking to Victoria, the azure dragon. Or at least, the memory of her was what he was talking to.
"Spawn of House Luthor," Emperor Zain said as he tilted his head to the side to address Seth.
"Yes, Emperor Zain," Seth answered with the minimal level of politeness needed.
"Tell me, you have been closer to those powers than I was back in Original Heaven.
Do you think Victoria will be reincarnated?" Emperor Zain asked.
Seth thought seriously for a moment. He was genuinely contemplating what to say before opening his mouth.
"To be truthful, Emperor Zain, I don’t know.
Although we hear that it usually depends on His mood, we know for a fact that the reincarnation cycle only lasts as long as six rotations.
If you ask me, it depends on whether she had completed six reincarnations before her last demise."
Emperor Zain sighed, "You speak as if you don’t know that most souls get lost or obliterated before their third cycle.
Very few are privileged to reach the sixth cycle."
Seth thought for some more seconds before sighing. Emperor Zain was not asking him for a detailed lecture on how the reincarnation cycle worked, he was asking for assurance.
Assurance that his disciple would get reincarnated.
"Emperor Zain, if you want to secure a spot, you would have to meet Him personally. That is the only way you can get full assurance?" Seth said.
"Have you met him yourself?" Emperor Zain asked.
At this question, Seth’s shoulders slumped in defeat, "No, apparently, he is very selective of who he wishes to speak to.
Very selective."
"I see," Emperor Zain muttered before going silent.
Once again, the three of them were present in silence. Their little noiseless kingdom for a few minutes before Emperor Zain moved again. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
He turned his head to the other side, looking at Memphis from the corner of his eye.
"You have cheated death time and time again, time lioness. Fortunately for you, it was in vain." Emperor Zain said, referring to Memphis’s new power level.
"Thank you," Memphis said.
"At least, you can now see the world the way I see it.
However, I’m sure you didn’t come here for me to give you a lecture. And I’m also certain that you two didn’t come here to internationally interrupt me," Emperor Zain said calmly.
Memphis looked at Seth who also looked at her. She was curious about what they had been talking about. Reincarnation, cycles, and a certain Him. What was all that about?
She guessed that it must be something related to where they all came from.
They talked as if they had similar backgrounds. Like two rich kids who grew up in the same estate and saw themselves outside by coincidence.
"No, Emperor Zain, the All-King wished to speak with you."
Emperor Zain stood up, his face slowly blending to form that perfect smile. His body was tall and lankly and his two horns cast faint shadows on the water.
"The All-King, where is he?" Emperor Zain asked.
Meanwhile, Memphis had silently been chatting with Kael all this time through the lion system and had told him about the situation here.
Kael was ready to come forward.
"I’m here," Memphis opened her mouth to answer but the voice that came out wasn’t hers, it was the voice of the All-King.
Deep, powerful, and Majestic. The time literally changed the vibe and atmosphere of their surroundings.
Seth frowned harder. He observed Memphis and saw that her green eyes had turned gold and her aura was now mixed with the essence of a law.
Another notable thing was that her power level had increased slightly.
No, she didn’t enter the Mid-Level Immortal stage but she was now a little stronger than any Low-Level Immortal.
"Oh," Emperor Zain raised his eyebrow and turned around to look at Memphis with a curious look.
He saw that the expression on Memphis’s face was no longer calm and serene. She now wore a face that was cold, dominant, and firm with eyes that spoke of brutal tyranny.
This was a testimony to the might of the All-King.
Emperor Zain and Seth were thinking about the same thing as they scaled up the power that they were witnessing.
Could the All-King be everywhere at once?
They weren’t just thinking of Memphis, they were thinking of the other subordinates and lions the All-King had under him.
Did it mean that the All-King could be using the lions as a way to see through their eyes?
This was a really terrifying ability.
"I wanted to speak to you about some matters, but it seems we are not alone," Kael said through Memphis.
Hearing this, Seth also spoke up, "Actually, I’ve been meaning to speak with you too about some matters," Seth said.
"I’m all ears," Memphis said rather calmly.
"The Primordial Rat," Seth stated, not bothering to beat around the bush.
"What about it?" Memphis asked.
Seth took a deep breath, annoyed that Kael was acting as if he didn’t know.
"I know that you are hiding the Primordial Rat with your power.
The Cat Prophets said so.
You know fully well that your Ancient Cousin was going to need it and you still took it."
Memphis looked dead into Seth’s eyes, showing a bit of confusion and fierceness, "And what exactly is your point?" She asked.
Seth was fuming.
"Give us the Primordial Rat, All-King." Seth declared.
"Are you stupid?" Kael asked genuinely from the bottom of his heart, "Because you talk like you are stupid."
Seth was shocked at first, but calmed himself down.
Emperor Zain on the other hand who was listening to this merely nodded his head slightly to confirm his theory.
’Intent blindness, indeed,’ He thought to himself.
"You didn’t even offer anything and you still want to make demands..." Memphis said, her eyes glowing a bright gold as a fierce tyrannical intent washed forth from her body.
Hearing the term ’Offer’, Emperor Zain visibly winced. Such a cruel word when it was used by the All-King.
Seth took a deep breath, "If you give us the Primordial Rat, we can stay out of your business for the next ten thousand years.
You can do whatever you want and we will not interfere."
Memphis seemed to enter a state of deep thought, then she spoke, "Ten thousand years? Only?
No deal."
Seth nodded, he thought as much. Ten thousand years was what he could offer because that was how long the Ancient Council of Feline might be willing to stall before they did anything serious.
"It seems you don’t understand just how deep a trouble you and your lions are in," Seth said.
Memphis folded her hands, "Why don’t you enlighten me, maybe I will become more submissive if you told me just how high the heavens are or how deep the abyss is," She said mockingly.
To this, Seth chuckled, "Oh All-King, the heavens are really too high and the abyss is probably deeper than you can fathom.
You do not know of the cosmic currents that flow beneath the veil of reality. You do not know of the Original Heaven and its internal systems, you do not know of House Luthor, and you certainly don’t know just how much power is concentrated in the blade hanging over the heads of every lion in existence.
So perhaps, the reason why you are so arrogant is that you are ignorant.
Whether you conform or not, it won’t change the outcome that has been set in stone.
Even the Highest Will cannot save you.
So it is either you bow your stupid head and see if you can prevent the worst from happening, or you resist and face the consequences of your actions.
Either way, you will still lose."
