Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 731: Final Evolution
The sound of something sharp tearing through the fabric of reality echoed into the Gap and resounded into the space of other heavens.
If very few knew about the ongoing war between the dragons and the lions before, almost every powerful being knew it now.
The screech was the sound of the universe complaining as one of its heavens was being torn apart from the inside.
The screech was so loud that even those mighty entities trapped in the Original Heaven also heard it. One by one, they cast their senses and gazes down to the mortalverse, watching the universe through the eyes of their subordinates so that they could see what was going on.
Meanwhile, in Leonine Heaven.
There was almost nothing.
The sky that had once been golden and the void that had once been seemingly bottomless were gone, replaced with a desolate abyss that remained still and chaotic at the same exact time.
The lion swarm, the massive black pyramid, and most of the planets and floating continents in the central coverage had been erased from existence.
It was as if nothing had been here before.
The whole place was sorrowful and had this melancholic vine that would make an immortal feel extremely lonely.
The only source of light in this place was the golden glow from the distant coverages.
The Crystal Throne had been detonated with Ibadon’s power as its source of energy, hence why it erased everything in its path.
That was how the crystal throne worked. If a fire-type creature used it, the resulting power would be based on fire, and it was so for other power types.
So many Gap cracks appeared at the edges of this abyssal space that it was frightening.
Every single one of the other realms of the Heavenverse could be seen at this point, all of them forming a ring of reality-shattering paintings that circled the central coverage.
If not, the abyssal aura from the Leonine Heaven was extremely oppressive, even to immortals, perhaps some creature would have rushed into Leonine Heaven from the other heavenly realms.
Unfortunately or fortunately, the width of the explosion did not collapse the entire Leonine Heaven. That would have been catastrophic and may have caused a lot of unwanted consequences.
The width of the detonation had only been up the edges of the Central Coverage. And even then, it wasn’t the whole central coverage that had been destroyed.
Some shockwaves had escaped to the other coverages but it wasn’t fatal.
All the power was concentrated in the central coverage.
The Apex Continent and the still rising Apex pyramid had also been in the Central Coverage. It was unknown whether Kael had made some preparations for something like this or not.
The fate of the Apex Pyramid was to be known.
As for Kael himself.
He was lost.
After a few seconds, those very few objects that had managed to survive the blast made themselves known.
These things were not material like wood, metal, and flesh. They were ethereal, dark, and almost transparent.
In the darkness that was illuminated by the distant golden glow from other coverages, this object was nearly imperceptible to the ordinary eye.
That was because this object was a soul.
To be precise, this was Ibadon’s soul. The final bits that remained after the stunt he just pulled.
A layer of oblivion surrounded this soul, having protected it from the blast. This was Ibadon’s final bit of preparation.
Just in case the crystal throne was not strong enough to finish the job, he would protect his soul long enough to do it.
After his fight with Noel, Ibadon had thought of ways like this to prevent himself from dying.
Not only had Noel sacrificed himself without killing Ibadon, but Ibadon himself had nearly died because both his body and soul were damaged.
One could only protect the body to a certain extent, but not the soul. As long as the soul was fortified, there was even a guarantee of experiencing a nice reincarnation.
As Ibadon existed in his soul form, he sensed his surroundings, spreading his mind across the gaps and cracks of the shattered reality to understand what had happened.
"Did...I...do it?" Ibadon asked himself.
He searched around and he still couldn’t sense any life form. They were all gone.
"No..." Ibadon shook his illusory formless head.
In the last moment, he had seen something absolutely shocking, something that filled him with doubt and...fear.
In that final moment, he had seen two things.
First, he had seen that Emperor Zain ran away pretty fast and with him, a few tier 7 lion kings had disappeared as well, probably tagging along after the Conqueror’s Mode Avatar effects wore off.
The other thing that he saw was what actually filled him with dread. He saw Kael transform.
What manner of atrocity the All-King had transformed into at that final moment, Ibadon could never describe.
What was that? He screamed in his head just before everything was destroyed.
That thing.
It couldn’t be ordinary, even by the standards of abominations like Ibadon.
If Ibadon had a description, it would be Eldritch Lion. But even that was too simple to describe what he had seen.
It was a physical manifestation of so many laws in the loose image of a lion. That was the best description.
Even if one was to see it, they still wouldn’t be able to describe it. That was a being whose form transcended the laws of physics and the universe.
If an ordinary mortal had glanced upon that entity with their ordinary eyes, they would have dived into a state of madness before dying shortly after.
That was just how terrifying that being was.
So terrifying that Ibado, just looking at it at that point, felt that everything about Kael was just...not correct.
The All-King, in Ibadon’s opinion, was the ultimate universal error, an error that would shatter the universe if left to grow.
The dread that Ibadon felt within him was not because he truly feared Kael in that moment. It was because the dread came from a primal side of him, a side that all creatures had.
It was the dread that all creatures had when faced with the raw might of the laws.
Because of those things that Ibadon saw, he was unsure if he had actually succeeded.
Well, there was no sign of any lions around. He could not see the All-King either.
Ibadon was fine with Emperor Zain fleeing away. He could rest in peace because the lions were the only enemies he truly hated down to his soul.
Ibadon was glad that all those lions had swarmed him, it would mean that he got all of them.
Still, Ibadon’s main goal was the total annihilation of the lion race. He doubted whether he had killed everyone.
But at least, he had killed the All-King and many of the most powerful lions in the civilization.
This was the fall of the lion civilization, it had been long-awaited.
Now, Ibadon could just take some effort to recover his strength while he hunted down every last lion in the universe.
With the Primordial Lion gone, and many powerful lions dead, nothing would stop him.
Ibadon had hoped to capture the All-King so that he could use his powers to locate all the lions everywhere, but things did not go as planned.
Ibadon would have to settle for the manual method.
Ibadon calculated that it would probably take him a few decades or a century at most to hunt them all down.
Developing satellite technology trained solely for the purpose of tracking mortal lions was not impossible, just very hard and not convenient.
Ibadon could even modify his senses if he were very serious about it. He could modify his senses to search for the stench of the lion race.
Either way, Ibadon had finally done most of the major genocide stuff that needed to be done. The rest was relatively easier than this battle he just had.
Once he was done, Ibadon would be able to die and rest in peace.
A calm, blissful nonexistent smile appeared on Ibadon’s formless soul. He was relieved. He could see the end, he could see true inner peace.
Finally,
He got what he wanted.
Just as Ibadon was thinking of what to do, he sensed something had changed in the vicinity.
A new presence.
And another one, and another one, and another one.
To Ibadon’s greatest dismay, the faint, almost imperceptible auras of multiple souls could be felt.
Ibadon counted, there were about a hundred of these souls. All of them possessed the undeniable stench of a lion.
And then, it started getting stronger, and stronger, and stronger.
The auras emitted by these faraway awakening souls showed that they did not just survive this ordeal.
They were actively in the process of evolving.
No, that should be wrong. They were almost done evolving.
About one hundred Lion souls were evolving at this moment, leaving Ibadon greatly confused and unsure of what was happening.
How?
Anyone would ask that question.
Whereas Ibadon’s soul had survived and would require his own efforts to recover his physical body, these souls were already rebuilding their bodies automatically.
Suddenly, Ibadon came to a ghastly realization.
This should not be possible unless...the souls were immortal.
It shouldn’t be possible unless all one hundred of those souls were evolving to the immortal tier stage at this moment.
"No," Ibadon exclaimed, understanding what had happened. He understood what Kael had done in that final moment after that transformation.
"That sneaky bastard!" Ibadon’s soul rushed toward the nearest of these souls with malicious intent.
