Reincarnated As The Villainess's Son-Chapter 524: Demon Shax and Tomb [1]
[Two Days Later.]
[Island of Sunset, Unknown Location.]
The Estate that belonged to the Hisoka family glowed in the shade of golden lights.
An atmosphere of festival hung over the island like a beautiful veil.
Music echoed through marble halls and open courtyards, soft and elegant.
Servants moved in neat lines, carrying trays of wine and glowing fruits.
Nobles from various factions and families came to the party.
They were here to congratulate the entrance of the Hisoka family into the Elite Class.
On a balcony overlooking the main courtyard, a young man stood holding a glass of wine.
He had a warm smile on his face that would melt a maiden’s heart.
He had short white hair and eyes of the same colour.
The young man was the heir of the Uzume family of Akasha.
He was Zavien Kurai Uzume and the [Villainess Maker] of Fall of Akasha, Core Two.
"Zavien." A voice called for him, making him look back.
It was a young man with long black hair and sharp features.
He wore a lavish dress with the Hisoka family’s symbol.
The young man was the heir of the Hisoka Household.
Damien Cad Hisoka.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, walking closer to Zavien.
"Nothing." Zavien replied, looking back. "Just looking for a target."
Saying so, his eyes lingered on a woman who walked below.
A hint of lust flickered past his eyes as he stared her down like a predator.
Damien followed Zavien’s gaze and frowned.
"Don’t think about her." He warned. "She is the daughter of a counselor."
"Well." Zavien said, sipping his drink. "It won’t be my fault if she invited me inside her room, right?"
Damien let out a sigh while rubbing his eyes. "I guess not."
Zavien smiled slightly as he asked, "Anyway, why were you looking for me?"
"Oh, right." Damien said, patting his shoulder. "Come with me, I want you to meet someone."
Zavien glanced at him but said nothing as he followed the young man.
It’s been years since Zavien had been living with the Hisoka.
It was only for his training, but Zavien, with his clever mind, made friends with the heir and got a grip within the family.
With the network of Hisoka, he also made a lot of friends throughout Kandam.
They stopped before a pair of tall doors guarded by two attendants.
At Damien’s nod, the doors were pushed open.
Inside was a smaller hall, quieter, filled with a handful of important figures.
Zavien’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Several nobles stood in conversation, but one figure stood apart.
He was a young man with an oppressive pressure around him.
Zavien recognised him instantly.
It was the Primordial God Elohim’s Avatar.
Dark hair, simple noble attire, calm posture.
If not for the overwhelming presence, he could have passed as just another guest.
Damien smiled as he walked closer. "Sir Ethan."
"Damien." Ethan nodded his head slightly. "And...?"
"Zavien." He extended his hand. "Heir of the Uzume household."
Ethan looked at the extended hand but didn’t take it.
Instead, his eyes studied Zavien from head to toe.
"...Uzume," Ethan said. "I have heard of your family."
Zavien didn’t pull his hand back; he knew how to please others. "I hope only good things."
After a brief pause, Ethan finally shook his hand.
The moment their hands touched, Zavien felt something. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
There was a look of disdain in his eyes, but he quickly hid it.
He pulled his hand back with a polite smile still on his face.
"Where is your father, Damien?" Ethan asked, glancing at him.
"He should be at the party as well." Damien replied.
Ethan nodded as he began to walk. "I will go meet him."
Damien quickly turned to look at Zavien as he asked, "So, what did you feel from him?"
"He is scared for his life." Zavien replied. "All this oppressive pressure and attitude is just to hide his insecurity."
Damien blinked. "Scared?"
Zavien nodded lightly, swirling the wine in his glass. "Terrified, actually. He just hides it well."
"That’s impossible," Damien said quietly. "He’s an Avatar."
"I have never been wrong about someone’s feelings." Zavien said, smiling. "He is definitely terrified of something."
Damien fell into deep thought as he mumbled, "Is this why he is going around creating connections?"
By all means, an Avatar should always be in the church unless important.
But Ethan has been moving around a lot, like he is scared of something.
"Either way, he is just a stupid child." Zavien said. "I am a thousand times better than him."
Zavien began to walk again and Damien followed behind.
"Oh, right. I will be leaving for Akasha soon." Zavien said. "Grandma has called me back."
"Why?" Damien asked. "Something happened?"
"I don’t know." Zavien replied, shrugging. "I think it’s about that Asura princess."
Damien began to lead Zavien now as he replied, "Just tell father before moving out."
"Yeah."
They passed through a long corridor lined with glowing crystals.
Laughter and music echoed faintly from behind them, but the deeper they went, the quieter it became.
A servant passed by them, bowing deeply before hurrying away.
"All three demigods are already in place." Damien said, "in case something goes wrong."
Zavien nodded, but there was a curious look on his face.
"What the hell is even going on?" He asked. "With so much preparation."
"We will know soon enough." Damien replied.
The atmosphere around them slowly began to change into something sinister.
The air began to tighten around them like a knot.
They stopped near a balcony that overlooked the lower levels of the estate.
A circular hall lay below with only one tomb lying in the middle.
Around the tomb were hundreds of thousands of runes that emitted a reddish light.
Zavien looked around as he found more people on different balconies, all looking down.
Zavien’s smile finally faded.
"...A tomb?" he murmured.
Damien rested his hands on the railing.
"An altar," he corrected. "That just happens to look like one."
The red runes below pulsed slowly, spreading like veins across the floor.
Zavien scanned the balconies.
He found many unknown faces, but a few known ones as well.
What stood out the most was none other than the father of Damien.
The head of the Hisoka family stood on the highest balcony, hands folded behind his back.
With a deep look on his face, he kept staring at the tomb.
His name was Ralph Cad Hisoka.
"Father has been preparing this for years."
"For years?" Zavien glanced back at the tomb. "How many?"
"...."
Damien didn’t respond as he kept staring at his father.
A pulse ran through the runes.
The light deepened, turning darker, thicker around them.
"Bring out the slaves." Ralph said, his voice echoing within the place.
As his words echoed, six doors opened from all around the tomb.
People, both men and women wearing nothing but rags, walked out.
The moment they stepped into the light, the atmosphere shifted.
The slaves moved slowly, their heads lowered, chains clinking softly with every step.
Some stumbled, others looked half-awake, as if their minds were already somewhere else.
"Pray for your god, slaves." Ralph said, his voice booming.
It only took the slaves a second before they all fell to their knees.
They began reciting prayers, which made Zavien frown.
"What is happening?" He asked again.
"....They have been in our custody since they were children." Damien replied. "We forced them to believe that they only have one god... the demon Shax."
His voice turned deeper. "We force them to genuinely believe that the demon is their real god."
Zavien’s fingers tightened around the glass in his hand.
Below, the slaves rocked back and forth as they prayed.
Their voices overlapped, forming a low chant that made the runes glow brighter.
Shax... Shax... Shax...
The name echoed unnaturally, bending the air around it.
The ritual circle pulsed once more....
...And all the voices stopped together.
"Look closely, Zavien." Damien spoke softly. "This is the ritual our messiah taught us."
