Chapter 32: Chapter 32

Jonathan couldn’t help but laugh in his mind. The asshole was thinking he was a valuable asset to the military, if only he knew that the leaders of Dreamway cared about nobody but themselves, even a base commander was useless, let alone a mere summoner that hasn’t entered the first stage of his magical path yet.

Jonathan entered his room. His three roommates stood up when he entered.

"You did really great, Jonathan. I never knew you could go head to head with that monster girl. You sure have experienced the war, unlike us.... We are just newbies."

They burst out laughing when Kevin finished. Jonathan didn’t buy into their laughter. He simply voiced out calmly.

"You are only a loser if you say you are. You are a newbie if that is what you call yourself. Nobody can call you something different from what you call yourself."

The men stopped laughing when Jonathan said those words. Seeing they had stopped laughing, Jonathan approached his bed and continued.

"This war isn’t going to go the way you think. There are going to be different sets of catastrophes before we even face the enemies.

Instead of calling yourself names that wouldn’t help you in the war, you should start focusing your energy on getting stronger so you can pass the obstacles we will face before we will face the waves from the enemies."

The men didn’t know what Jonathan was talking about, but they understood that there was no time to sit around, they had to work their butts off otherwise they would die on the battlefield.

"See you later."

Jeremiah said as he left the room. Jonathan gave him a small nod before sitting on his bed. He thought of asking Jeremiah to show him around the headquarters, but the war was coming. There was no time to play around for him. Every second was important for him, and with the help of the magical boosting item he was given, he would be able to level up even faster.

Jonathan brought out the bronze medal from his pocket and put it on.

[Magical boosting item has been improved by 10X 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

New progression rate: 3X]

He entered his bed fully and started channeling his energy to his chest region. He had to continue his magical path training immediately.

Jonathan closed his eyes and found himself in the endless stairway of the magical path.

A system message came right up when he entered the dimension.

[Energy has been recovered fully]

Jonathan cheeks moved a little. This would’ve come as a surprise to him, but it wasn’t anymore given the instructor had explained everything to him, he was simply wondering how his progression would be like now that he was putting on a magical boosting item.

Jonathan took three steps forward and it was easy, more easier than when he had only the system 10X progression rate. He took several steps forward again and he could tell there was a significant upgrade.

This made Jonathan cheeks raise to his eyes, however he wondered what it would be like if he could get his hands on the gold magical boosting item. With his system increasement, it would be 15X progression rate, that was more than the system progression rate.

Jonathan quickly placed his hands on his jaws. The difference was massive. He never thought about it, he wondered if he should approach one of the mages to steal their gold magical boosting item, after all they didn’t know what they were doing, he needed it more than them.

The future of Dreamway was in his hands, so it wouldn’t count as stealing, he needed it to level up quickly.

Jonathan thought about it more. After a little while, Jonathan cancelled the thought away. He wasn’t that kind of individual, perhaps that was the reason God chose him in the first place. He was pure in heart, and even if he successfully stole one of the mages magical boosting items, it would be reported and the instructor would conduct a search for it.

He had no idea how magic works in this world, perhaps he could be sniffed out in less than seconds. That would be a big slap in the face for him, and he might lose his spot in fighting in the incoming war.

When Jonathan was done analyzing all the consequences. It wasn’t a good idea. He decided he would work with what he had, after all, he was better than everyone in the new recruitment, and the world as a whole. All he needed was time.

Jonathan immediately swiped his thoughts away.

He ascended the stairway in a quick sensation that he couldn’t comprehend.

Jonathan climbed the stairway quicker and he received a message from the system.

[You have advanced to the second stage of the magical path.]

After the system message, Jonathan saw a transparent wall in front of him. He could see through the wall and what he saw was the continuation of the endless stairway. Jonathan believed this was the passage between the first stage of the magical path and the second stage, although the system had already prompted him, he still had to pass through the bridge in real sense.

Jonathan stepped into the transparent glass and he went through it easily.

When he entered the other side of the transparent glass. He could tell that the energy at the surroundings here was different compared to what he has been experiencing. The air was also denser, but it wasn’t threatening to Jonathan, in fact it felt like he had gone back to when he wasn’t using a magical boosting item.

Feeling like he had wasted enough time here already, Jonathan continued with his ascension. Just as he went through ten stairways, he received a notification from the system.

[Host can draw out energy here to develop a skill.]

Jonathan didn’t bother to think about it, he continued advancing the stairway. He moved past another ten stairs and the system message came right up again.
