Luke wanted an answer immediately. Jonathan was already at stage two that everyone was crying about and he did it in just one day.

How could that be possible?

The lady was surprised about Luke’s words. Seeing Jonathan was at the second stage, she immediately thought Jonathan was one of those early awakeners.

At the age of fifteen some people already have the magical connection to awaken their ability, while others have to wait until they turn eighteen.

Twenty years was the maximum age for magical connection, if somebody passed the age of twenty without having any magical connection then that person was a regular human being.

The lady couldn’t believe that Jonathan awakened his ability yesterday and was already at the second stage of his magical path today.

"Do you care to explain what we are seeing here, soldier?"

"Of course."

Jonathan said as he removed his hands from the lady’s shoulder. He turned to face the crowds. Since Hillary was already at the fourth stage of her magical path, Jonathan believed she had awakened her ability earlier than the military awakening ceremony, so there were chances for some people to be younger but have progressed significantly in their magical path. Although this doesn’t count to his problem, it gave him an understanding that the magical path had nothing to do with age so he could tell the lie he had come up with without any fear of being exposed.

Jonathan sounded confident.

"I am in stage two because I awakened my ability a few days before the invasion, if you don’t believe me then could you explain why my body didn’t absorb the rune stone right away.

You all thought I wasn’t a martial artist, the truth is, I was considering whether I should participate in the invasion of those scumbag or not, and I decided to."

Everyone was dumbfounded by Jonathan’s words. Luke wanted to say something but he didn’t know what to say. The awakening process works instantly. The moment the person touches the compatible ability, the awakening process begins immediately, but for some reason Jonathan awakening didn’t work instantly. In fact it doesn’t even work that way. He never thought Jonathan was playing games and that he had already awakened before then.

What a joke!

Seeing nobody from Baytorn was saying anything, the lady’s heart beat went back to normal.

"I will keep to my words. Find a seat to sit on."

Jonathan’s lips formed a half smile seeing everyone believe what he said. He was very lucky that his brain could cook that credible story that fast, despite having only a little knowledge about the world.

Hillary’s expression went back to normal. She thought as much, but however she had somebody on her tail now.

Now that she thinks about it, she didn’t just lose to an average joe. She lost to the second best person in the class, and if she had known about Jonathan yesterday, she wouldn’t have consumed all her energy. She would’ve reserved some for the physical drills, anyway, she wouldn’t lose tomorrow.

Jonathan sat down at the back. He would make sure he doesn’t come late again, and he must restrict himself from progressing on his magical path until they leave, which was seven days from now. He heard from some superiors that they would be leaving for the border to fight Alphacrest seven days from now, which was a good thing, because he wouldn’t be under the watchful eyes of anyone by then. He could progress as fast as he wanted during the war.

Since everyone knew he was at the second stage of his magical path, he could advance to stage three without anyone raising an eyebrow. The thing that would cause people to look his way again was if he progressed to stage four, so he wouldn’t do that until they left the headquarters.

Seeing Jonathan had taken his seat. The lady continued.

"Back to where we stopped. I would like to go back to the main topic of the day. If you want to enter the magical path, you must first feel all the energy within you, then slowly you will channel that energy to your heart region and you will instantly appear at the magical path."

Everyone slowly nodded to the lady’s words. She wanted to continue when Jonathan suddenly raised his hand to ask a question.

"Go on with your question."

She said as she gave her attention to Jonathan. Jonathan stood up before saying the question.

"Ma. I would like to know when is the perfect time to create a skill. I heard that it’s bad to create a skill at the first point of creation so where do you think is advisable to do so."

Jonathan voiced out publicly to further reinforce his claims of earlier, not that anyone would suspect that he was lying, but this would give them the understanding that he actually knew one or two things that they didn’t know, however, he truly wanted to know about this.

Hillary’s lips formed a half smile when she heard that. Jonathan’s question meant that Jonathan hadn’t created a skill yet, and that was good for her. It was an advantage.

Jonathan sat down back before the lady responded to his words.

"That is a good question. I must warn you immediately. It’s not advisable to create a skill at the first point of creation, otherwise you will get an E ranked skill, while it might not be a bad thing because having a good arsenal of low ranked skills is better than having one or two high rank skills.

High rank skills take a good amount of energy to perform, and given the size of your energy core, that is not a good idea.

There is a war coming so you need to have a good selection of skills on ground. With that being said, it’s not advisable to create a skill at the first point because you will only get E ranked, but if you do it at the second point of creation, you would start having chances of D ranked and miraculously a C ranked skill."

The lady looked at Jonathan and continued.

"If you ask me, I think having a skill is very important now, regardless of the ranks, so back to your question. I think the best place to create a skill would be at the fifth stage of the magical path. You would have fully escaped drawing out an E ranked skill, the chances would be between a C ranked skill and a D ranked skill, but you can miraculously get a B ranked skill as well."

Jonathan was a bit disappointed that he had to wait that far to get a B ranked skill and it wasn’t a guarantee one, well, perhaps with his 10X progression his luck could shine and he would be getting only B ranked skills.

The lady calmly voiced out as she walked to the middle of the hall.

"The further you go, the higher chances you will have in drawing out good skills."

She stopped close to Jonathan before turning back to face the stage of the hall again.

"Now that I have explained that, how about you all show me that you can enter the magical path now."

Seeing the system message, Jonathan thought of entering the magical path, but he wouldn’t be advancing on his stages. He doesn’t want to end up ascending to the third stage in front of everyone.

Since he would be restricting himself on that. It was time to make sure all his skills had the plus sign.
