Jonathan stared at his C ranked skill progression.
He did everything he could to progress his C ranked skill to a plus sign but he couldn’t.
He was able to advance the rest of his skills to a plus sign in less than two days. He used the remaining three days to focus on his C ranked skill and all he could do was to advance it to level five.
Jonathan could see the difficulty of leveling up a high ranked skill, as each level’s progression was becoming harder. If he didn’t have the system 10X progression rate he wouldn’t have been able to smell this close in achieving all these things, for this he was grateful to God, however, he needed more.
The war was only two days away now. Just two days!
Jonathan swiped all the messages away then. He took a deep breath and he appeared at the endless stairway of the magical path. He looked back and there was a passage behind him, meaning he had just gone through to another stage.
Seeing his C ranked skill wasn’t leveling up the way he wanted, he decided to focus entirely on his magical path and he was able to advance to the third stage of his magical path, just in time for the special combat training that the high ups had arranged.
Jonathan took another deep breath and he opened his eyes on the real world. He was starting to understand how the time in the magical path works, however that was only if he was at the training ground. If he was progressing on his stages, he had no idea how to keep up with the real world time.
As Jonathan’s eyes opened, his alarm started ringing but he shut it off. He could see that his roommates were already taking their bath so he waited for them to finish before entering the bathroom.
Jonathan took his time there, he hadn’t given himself a proper wash since he was reincarnated into this world, and that was because there was no time to waste. He had no idea what the battlefield would be like, but he knew they were going to be betrayed. According to his former world, the first strike force was ambushed and all killed. Jonathan remembered the location of the ambush so he would be waiting for it, and at the same time, he also knew the leader that was in charge of that attack, mainly the first attack.
That leader ended the lives of many people, since this would be the first assault on Alphacrest, to make it real, one of the five leaders would be available, so this would be his shot at taking one of the leaders down.
Jonathan had no idea how stronge a leader would be, that was why he was working tirelessly, but these goddamn instructors had to keep an eye on every progression on their magical path, so he couldn’t focus on that more, anyway, his skills were all in good shape.
Jonathan came out of his room alone. His roommate had left for the training ground. It wasn’t that they didn’t like him enough to wait for him or wake him up whatever he beats the alarm, they were simply afraid of him.
They were afraid of everything he did. If only they knew what was coming.
Jonathan arrived at the large hall which was meant for the special combat training. Everyone’s eyes were poker. The place was surprisingly quiet, with some people facing the ground due to the fear inside them.
Although Jonathan was the last person to be here, he wasn’t late.
The instructor on the stage was somebody Jonathan had never seen before. Each day was a different instructor for them, but the bald headed man from the beginning came twice and so was the lady as well.
The instructor standing on the stage had orange colored hair, and was surprisingly wearing orange colored glasses as well. His dominion was different from all the instructors that Jonathan had crossed paths with. He had a playful presence due to his sense of dressing. If this was the guy everyone saw at their first day here, they would’ve all been joyful and probably wouldn’t take the training seriously, but goddamn this was the D-day for the special combat training that the high ups had arranged, nobody was observant enough to notice the friendly appearance of the instructor, in fact, his stylish tone was making people more afraid of what was coming.
"Good day everyone, or should I say, good day ladies and gentlemen."
The instructor finally spoke. He waited for a laugh or probably something else from the crowds but nobody muttered a single word.
After a while of silence, the instructor spoke out again.
"Your time is finally up. You will begin with your combat training in a few minutes from here, but with that, I want you all to know my name, at least those of you that would be dying in this room would die knowing the person that killed you."
As he said those words, many people’s souls left their bodies out of fear.
The instructor’s friendly appearance suddenly changed, and that was when he finally released his energy which he had been hiding.
Everyone’s expression darkened when they saw that the instructor was a summoner.
"I am Antonio River and I will be summoning an endless beast that will keep you entertained until you die or until you end up passing the mission, which I believe would be pretty, pretty hard."
His words brought fear in the surrounding and people frightened voices were start to sound loudly from different corners.
The noise was increasing rapidly when a loud bang was heard.
Doom!
Everyone moved to the direction of the sound and they saw that the entrance to the large hall had been sealed. The motion caused the hearts of many people to stop working.
"We are all going to die...."
"It is over... it’s fucking over."
"We are going to die."
"We are...."
Jonathan couldn’t believe the words he was hearing. These people weren’t at the battlefield yet and they were already crying like this.
Pathetic!
In his former world, he didn’t have any superpowers but he died like a real soldier should on the battlefield.
Just as the entrance was sealed. Some instructors started showing their faces on the upper floor of the large hall. They were standing close to the parapet wall there.
The bald headed man was seen and the lady from the temple was also seen, along with some other instructors.
When they came forth in the upper floor, it only increased the panic that was bursting around in the down floor.
Antonio finally voiced out again, causing the noise in the surrounding to stop at once.
"Although I will be summoning endless beasts, you just have to kill a hundred of them before I will unleash the main boss. Once you can take the main boss down, then the mission is over."
A hundred was a big amount in everyone’s eyes. They wondered if a hundred monsters could fit into the hall, the place would be all crowded, nowhere to run to.
The noise was about to kick off again when Antonio raised one of his fingers up as he continued.
"While you all are panicking, the top performance of this special combat training would be given a 2X magical boosting item, and that is if the person awakened a special ability, while a normal awakener would be given a 1X magical boosting item"
The noise stopped at once and Antonio’s last few voices were heard correctly.
"And that would help you grow stronger before the war begins. Don’t you want to become the next big shot of Dreamway."
By the mention of the magical boosting item, Hillary’s poker expression broke into a smile, but she wasn’t the only person smiling, Jonathan was also smiling.
