The atmosphere in the room changed at that moment.

Hillary eyebrows slowly raised to her forehead when she felt the sudden change in the surrounding. She was feeling an unknown aura.

Hillary raised her head up a little only to see the strange aura was coming out from Jonathan.

’What the hell is this!’

She sounded loudly in her mind.

The giant spider reached to attack Jonathan when Jonathan legs started releasing a grey form of energy, before the spider could even think of moving its claws, Jonathan was seen spinning in a resounding manner in the air. Although Jonathan quickly moved out of the ground, catching the spider off guard entirely, the spider was still quick enough to smash it numerous legs to Jonathan.

"No!"

Hillary voiced out as she took off from her spot, she couldn’t believe that Jonathan was making the same mistake as her.

What an old man!

Just as Hillary took off from her spot, Jonathan muttered beneath his breath.

"C ranked: Spinning Kick"

"Level 2!"

Jonathan’s legs released a massive burst of grey energy and it destroyed all the spider claws that were heading to him.

Boom!

Boom!

Jonathan crushed his way to the spider body region. The spider couldn’t move out of the way due to all its legs being destroyed so Jonathan smashed right to the spider head region.

BOOM!

The force smashed the spider to the ground. Everyone’s eyes burst open in shock as the impact vibrated the whole premises, including the instructors.

Hillary’s eyes were widely opened. She couldn’t believe that Jonathan had unlocked a C ranked skill.

How is this possible? Her hands slowly started shaking as she was starting to be afraid of Jonathan.

The spider was badly injured by the attack, but it wasn’t dead. It wanted to force its way of getting up when Jonathan booted it on the head, causing it head to explode and its entire body as well.

All the instructors were stupefied on their spots. Antonio couldn’t believe that his C ranked monster was defeated, but unlike the rest he quickly recovered from it by jumping down to the lower floor again.

He landed safely besides the scattered particles of his monster.

He looked at Jonathan with deadly eyes.

"Would you mind sharing how you were able to perform a C ranked skill? I believe you are part of this new recruitment as such, there is no way you would’ve been able to unlock a C ranked skill and advance it to the second level, moreover you also had a D ranked skill that I believe was at its maximum level.

Do you care to explain how you are able to do all these things?"

Some of the new recruitment that had fallen to the ground slowly started standing up to their feet. They couldn’t believe what they had witnessed, among those that were mystified was Luke, he couldn’t believe a martial artist could be this powerful.

He thought martial artist attacks wouldn’t be effective against monsters.

His expression darkened as he waited to hear what Jonathan had to say.

The rest instructors jumped down from the upper floor as well, all landing perfectly behind Antonio.

They had the same question on their mind.

’How did Jonathan do that and who the hell was he?’

Jonathan was calm when Antonio asked the question, unlike when Cecilia asked him at the temple. He casually responded to Antonio’s words.

"My instructor at Baythorn, Field Commander Greyson, gave me the skills as a present for my outstanding work. He awakened the swordsmanship ability and he came from a family of martial artists so he passed down his family abilities to me."

Antonio’s eyebrows raised a little when he heard that. He couldn’t believe that Jonathan got a head start. He knew Jonathan was a commoner so he never thought Jonathan would be able to afford a skill nor be given one.

Seeing that was the case, it was clear to everyone why Jonathan was able to produce a C ranked skill and was able to defeat the spider.

"I see. I would have made it stronger if I had known, but it’s okay. You did well."

Antonio said with a smile but his expression darkened when he turned away. He should’ve made it stronger.

Aaron was all smiles when he heard Jonathan’s words, he had no idea Jonathan had a head up, and Jonathan knew how to execute it perfectly.

He was starting to believe Jonathan would make a fine soldier, perhaps they might cross paths in the battlefield.

Seeing Antonio had left the scene, Aaron voices out after clearing his throat.

"Gather around everyone. Your special combat training is over, not the way I expected it to be, and I wouldn’t say you all did a good job because none of you did anything in the training.

May God protect you as you go onto the battlefield, this was your chance to shake off the fear of facing a powerful foe for the first time and you totally blew it away.

As everyone was coming closer to Aaron, Jonathan looked around to find Hillary but he couldn’t find her. He looked at the exit direction and he saw Hillary leaving.

Jonathan wondered why she was leaving and she seemed to be angry as well.

When everyone finished lining up again. One medal was brought in by one of the seniors and it was handed to Aaron.

Aaron continued again.

"Without a doubt, the best performance of today is Jonathan Hayes."

Aaron raised the silver medal up as he continued.

"As we promised, the highest performance of the day gets a 1X magical boosting item. Jonathan Hayes, come to me now."

Jonathan remained on his spot for a while before he came out to meet with Aaron. He saluted when he came out.

"Sir!"

Aaron handed Jonathan the silver medal with a smile. Jonathan received the medal with both of his hands, as a sign of respect before straightening up on his spot.

Aaron continued when Jonathan straightened up.

"This time, you get to keep the medal as well, your performance today made you the top performance of the new recruitment training saga."

Jonathan was stupefied when he heard that. He couldn’t believe he would get to keep the silver medal, that means his progression rate would officially be 30X

Jonathan’s lips slowly formed a half smile, just as he was smiling. He noticed a junior instructor was rushing from the entrance of the hall to meet with them.

It wouldn’t have caught Jonathan’s attention if it didn’t make him remember how Charles’ announcement was stopped that day when Alphacrest invaded.

The junior instructor came to the scene and saluted Aaron and the rest instructors.

"Emergency meeting immediately, Alphacrest has officially launched an attack at the borderline, and Baytorn state is currently being taken over, along with the entire Crimson Sunset Region."
