Reincarnated in the Royal Family with a Plunder System-Chapter 32: Healing after Training Hits Different
Chapter 32: Healing after Training Hits Different
"Okay, for now, today’s physical training is over."
Ryan wanted to barf.
He wanted to cry.
He wanted to laugh.
He wanted to sleep.
He wanted to scream.
What was this?
Is this what people call dizziness?
The first training session had been hellish. It felt absolutely disorienting. Now, he couldn’t even see straight. All he could think of was about falling to his death somewhere. It was exhaustion taken to the extreme.
He leaned against Seraphina, sweat trickling down his cheeks. "How long did I train?"
"About two and a half hours. It’s late morning now."
I had only trained that long?
Then why had he become such a mess?
Seraphina walked while supporting him. First time training was always a bitch—it was never an easy entry barrier. Most people quitted at this phase, but those who remained became stronger.
But she had been harsher than normal for Ryan.
Normally, one wouldn’t be asked to do a 100 pushups on day one. Nor would they be made to train by being beaten up to a pulp. But she had made him do all of that, plus teaching her mathematics on day 1.
That was more than a normal newbie could handle.
It was surprising that he was still standing.
She had not pulled her punches. Ryan even had nasty bruises all over his handsome face—in fact, he no longer looked handsome.
He asked: "Is training always this hard? Does it get easier?"
Seraphina shook her head. "It doesn’t get easier, but you become stronger."
He felt an immediate relief wash over him. So what if it was hard? What if he felt like shit? This was going to make him stronger. He would no longer be that weak-minded idiot. This was the sacrifice he had to make in order to live the way he wanted.
Even with a single day’s training, he could already match up to Seraphina’s simple attack pattern when she was only using ¼ of his own strength.
This was progress!
"I feel like dying, Sera. Never knew training was this hard—I always thought it was going to be like playing football or badminton till exhaustion."
"I have never played those things. And don’t worry, Mom’s healing will fix you right up."
If he had gone to their mother earlier, Lysandra would have definitely noticed his increased strength. But now, that was no longer a worry. After all, Ryan now had complete control of his own strength.
He had Inner Authority passive skill for a reason!
Ryan did not know what happened after that. At some point, he had lost touch with reality. He had abandoned his human vessel, become zombie.
Random facts that he had heard in the internet kept echoing in his head.
There are more trees on Earth than stars in the Milky Way.
If you took all the DNA in your body and uncoiled it, it would stretch from the Earth to the Sun and back — over 300 times.
"Oi my brain, will you let me stop thinking?"
His brain replied: "You are thinking about stopping to think."
"Why are you so annoying, my brain?"
"I am your brain, you are me. Me is you. Return to monke."
"Why are you quoting memes for no reason?"
"Because I have ADHD. I brought it with me to isekai."
"Oh no."
Seraphina, who could read his thoughts, had a weird expression appear on her face. What a weirdo.
...
When Ryan woke up again, he was sitting in his mother’s room, her hand gently resting on top of his head. "All clear now?"
"Damn, when did I appear here?"
"Language."
"Oh shit... yeah."
Shaking her head, Lysandra looked at Seraphina. "What kind of brutal regimen are you putting him through?"
"Nothing that will break him."
"This is not healthy for his mind, girl."
"Ask him whether he wants it or not," Seraphina shrugged. "I am not forcing anybody here."
Ryan nodded, stretching his muscles to look whether he had got six packs yet. My dear six packs, where are you?
"Healing really is overpowered mom, I feel like I just woke up. Damn these powers rock."
Lysandra smiled. "You know what, Ryan?"
"What?"
"You don’t have to be too hopeless about walking on the extraordinary paths. There is one way for you to gain a lot of exceptional physical power—though it might still not match upto Martial Artists."
"Oh, how?"
"Training till your body breaks, healing yourself, training again. This is a much cruder path, but since your body can constantly break down and heal itself, it will gain sizeable strength. And theoretically, there is no limits to growth."
Seraphina blinked. "Actually, that is a valid path. But it will take too much time. How much time do you think he will need to gain even the strength of a Rune 10 Martial Artist?"
Lysandra became silent for a spell. Then, she said: "At least ten years to reach that level. And that’s with super intense training. This path is crude and slow, but it is the only option we have for now."
Ryan and Seraphina looked at each other.
Then, they looked away. Seraphina said: "Mom, can you do me a favor?"
"What is it? And don’t ask me to go beat up random princes."
"Can you retire Barbezz and his son?"
"With salary?"
"Yeah. With salary. Or proper land and assets of equal value is fine as well."
"Why should I do that?"
"They have been good to us for years, mother. They deserve it."
Lysandra smiled gently at Seraphina. "Tell me the truth or I will remind you both why I am the mother and you my children."
Seraphina looked away. "I did a mistake."
"What mistake?"
"I experimented on Miguel’s soul using my soul magic and ended up harming it severely."
Lysandra’s face changed. "Elaborate. Did he end up becoming a fool?"
"No... his mind should still be intact. But he lost one of his Class skills."
"Inner Authority..."
"Yeah."
Lysandra stood up and passed by her two children without a word. But before she left, she placed her hand on Sera’s shoulder. "Sera, your curiosity regarding the soul is fine. And I am alright with you experimenting as well, but don’t do that with our own people. I almost fear that you are too cold, my girl."
Sera pouted. "It was an accident. And I was curious about someone else who had the same Inner Authority as me."
"I will handle the repercussions for you. But this is not a small matter. This experiment of yours is too dangerous—keep it under the lid."
Seraphina became nervous.
After all, everyone in Mugen would be afraid of an experiment that could potentially remove one or more of their Class Skills. This was a dangerous power. If they learned that the class skill was not merely ’removed’ but ’stolen’...
It would become even more dangerous.
Lysandra looked at Ryan. "Why do you look so pale?"
Seraphina locked her hand around his neck. "Our baby boy is frightened at the term of Soul Experiments."
Lysandra smiled at the words and left with a chuckle.
Seraphina breathed out.
"Why did you lie?" he asked.
"We need mother’s help in covering your tracks. But you don’t want to reveal your new class to her yet, right?"
That was true. Ryan hadn’t been able to surprise Seraphina with his class, so he at least wanted to surprise his mother one day. And Seraphina had known that.
That’s awfully considerate.
"Hey Sera, you asked for a massage—I never gave it to you. I don’t mind giving you one now, if you want."
Sera chuckled. "No need. I also got Mother’s healing. Anyway, now that your physical training is over, it’s time to start mental training..."
Just as they were about to speak about that, a knock came on the door.
Ryan turned to look.
It was the Goblinette, who was being pushed into the room by a worried maid.
