Reincarnated to become a Demon Supreme-Chapter 12: A Demon Appears

The battlefield momentarily turned quiet. The fire power of that weapon brought a bit of nostalgic feeling to the soldiers. The fallen, though ready to fight to the death, still didn’t want to fight a losing battle.

"What was that?"

The demon in the cave was surprised by the sudden change in the battle.

"This is not good I have to act quick"

The next moment the Demon disappeared from the cave. Back at the battlefield, The head researcher was delighted that his theory was correct. Unfortunately the glass seal they had was the only one with the material they needed.

"As you just witnessed yourself, the purity in that substance is so potent that we could use this concept weapon to its full power. Unfortunately we ran out, this battle would’ve been one sided.

Malkov was currently in his thoughts, no doubt what he just witnessed was beyond his initial expectation, but the approach still mattered, the person responsible for that energy is an outsider. He has no affiliation to anyone in the settlement so he could just say no and leave. What then, should they lock him up and use him as livestock?

He had thought about that, but with the potential the kid has it would be practically robbing humanity of their potential saviour.

’Ok, I’ll have to speak to him first and see where we go from there. There is no need to bring violence to this negotiation’

As the enemy seemed to waver in their attack, the Jumper didn’t want to waste a second and attack while the morale was low.

Booom!

Suddenly a loud explosion came and threw back the advancing army of jumpers. Many got injured. The lucky ones were at the back. Alex was one of the unlucky ones to be thrown back, luckily for him, he was at the back only the shockwave pushed him back and his junior jumper physique tanked the remaining impact.

’Sure am lucky I absorbed those souls or this would have been entirely different outcome’

Then he took a look at the impact area. There was still so much smoke covering the area, making it hard to discern what just happened.

Gooo Go Gooo Go!

A sound like a drumming heart was heard all over the battlefield, what was shocking was where the sound originated from. Those near the body of a fallen Soldier or beast saw their chest rise with the beat. They instinctively walked back. The bodies started to rise like a string connected to their chest. The next thing their heart popped right out, leaving the bodies to fall right back down. Hundreds of hearts all headed right into the smoke.

Alex felt something unsettling so he quickly activated his spiritual eyes... Before him were hundreds of souls dragged towards the smoke. It appears though the heart served as connection to the souls so that they could be dragged from the bodies. What Alex couldn’t see though were the tiny hair like tentacles that were busy pulling the heart.

Mildread though saw the entire event from the moment it began. Soon all the hearts were taken, the smoke was starting to disperse. Slowly a silhouette started to take shape.

"You humans sure are interesting, I thought this was a done deal and I’m out. Who would have expected that sudden attack that took down most of my force"

Slowly the figure walked out from the smoke. A moment later they were witnessing what seems to be a fallen with red skin, two dark horns, but human features. This came as a surprise to all those around. Not once had there been a report of a fallen who could speak, and definitely not one who looks exactly like humans.

"Sir I might be crazy but isn’t that one of those mythical creatures spoken in the old religions?

Officer Yulo whispered into General Malkov’s ears. Upon hearing that Malkov’s eye grew in size. It just dawned on him.

’Demons. That is a real Demon spoken about in the old world, they actually exist’

Alex was stiff for a moment, He knew that he was a Demon himself... A corrupted fallen Angel to be exact but he never thought that he would see one of them so soon.

’Wait, it really is a demon, and there are angels too, does that make me a hybrid of both? Nah, I’m just overthinking’

The demon started walking towards the army. Each step felt intentional.

"No matter, they were just a means to an end, just as you will become a means to my end. Unlike other human settlements, I plan to wipe this one from the face of the world. You see, we demons aren’t supposed to be seen by human eyes. My sighting will enrage so many powerful beings and it just might bring war to us. So I hope you understand my situation"

Every word he spoke, there was a sarcasm laced within it, as if he was happy they saw him.

"Ok filthy hum...."

Just as he was in the middle of walking and talking he suddenly felt dizzy, like he might fall any moment.

Ahhhhhh!

Splat! Splat! 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

He threw up some hearts as if he was just poisoned. The pile almost made 80 hearts.

"What is this"

The Demon took one of the hearts and got a closer look. Then his eyes bulged out.

’There... There is no soul in this heart, what is going on, from how the heart looks, these beasts died today. So how is the soul already disappeared’

Quickly he looked up, his eyes shifting from one human to another as if looking for something. The ones witnessing this were confused by the change in attitude.

"Don’t just stand there, attack!!"

The General’s voice rang out. As if magic, the voice breaked down the fear that held them into place.

Bang bang bang.

Attacks came and disrupted the demon from his search, It tanked attacks from weaker opponents while it dodged attacks from Senior Jumpers and above.

"Pesky flies"

He waved his hand, strands as thin as human hair came out, easily blocking any and all attacks coming his way. Then with a grasp, the strands tied around some unfortunate soldiers.

"Die"

Splat!

Like a grape, he pinched them out of existence, Seeing this the soldiers started to waver. An enemy who showed no weakness or impervious to attacks.

Bam!

Suddenly a fist came, sending the demon back a few meters. Which landed perfectly on its legs.

"Ow, it appears there is at least one of you pests with a bit of strength"

General Malkov was the one responsible for that attack. Then he threw something towards Alex.

"Here kid, this could help us get a chance to take down this abomination."

When Alex caught the object, he was surprised to see something so high tech in this day and age.

"You saw what it can do, that was your energy serving as the power source. It’s fairly easy to use"

The device appeared like a metal square box. Oy had no feature or anything to speak about.

"Ow, it is a weapon capable of turning itself into any sort of weapon the wilder desires"

While the General was giving him some explanation. A screen appeared right before his face.

Weapon Detected. Want to equip?

Notice, all equipment will be enhanced by chaos energy.

Alex didn’t even waste a second to choose "equip". Upon selection the weapon suddenly got consumed by chaos energy. Then like a sinkhole the weapon disappeared right in front of his eyes.

Mouha Anti Matter Equipped

Checking his stat window, he could see the N/A changed to Mouha anti matter. He willed it to reappear. In his hands the box appeared but its appearance had a chance somewhat. Instead of metallic like before. Now it appeared like a box purely made dark matter, with some intricate design on it. Some metals stood out a bit. One thing is certain. It was steadier than before.

Alex thought for a moment before changing it into a scythe like pickaxe.

’I think this will do’

When he looked on, he could see the General and the Demon had already started their showdown.

"Kid, what is taking so long!"

Frustrated by the quiet back up. He had planned this attack with Alex in his calculations. Alex didn’t waste a second. He charged in, making it 2 against 1. The demon didn’t seem bothered by the new arrival. It continued to charge forth to the general.

Alex quickly hit the ground with his new weapon, a wave of chaos shadow laced with anti-matter came out. Forcing the Demon to retreat. The aftermath of that attack left the ground agape.

For a moment the demon seemed to contemplate something,then it quickly changed its attack from the General to Alex, just as it was about to touch him. Alex’s whole body was covered by a shadow then disappeared from its location.

"You there, What are you ?"
