Reincarnated to become a Demon Supreme-Chapter 17: A visit from Corruption
After a week passed
The front line felt more of this push than anywhere else. It used to be just random beats coming in and just deciding to attack whatever they could put their eyes on. Now it felt more calculated. Each creature’s strength was used in full effect.
"Sir I hear the higher ups plan to send jumpers in one of the large dimensions in order to extract knowledge that could help up train more Senior Jumpers into finally becoming Silver Ranked Jumper"
The Chief commander currently incharge of the Army camp of Eldoria was robust in size, appears as though he never took a day off in gym. 7 feet in height, dark skin, shaved head and an eye patch.
Eldoria was the smallest country on the Andorra Continent, once famous for producing the world’s strongest jumper, it currently fosters two powerful jumpers, named Lady Cindy and Master Mat. World’s heroes. But other than that, they were falling behind in the ranking. Though they had two most powerful Jumpers. Other countries had more jumpers who had already got past the Senior jumper Rank. Once known as the barrier of man kind, 99th level.
Other countries have even minimised the stress of their jumpers. Their increased number in Silver Jumpers had made it easy for them to manage the dimensions and fallen. Which also meant they had also increased their wisdom of mistica.
Though the world faces what might be described as a planet ending event. The countries managed to adapt then keep the old traditions alive. Matter of fact now it would appear greed of power seems to be the main driving factor. Instead of stocking nuclear bombs. Which are nothing but camp fire sticks now. They increase the power of their jumpers.
"That’s right solder. The situation seems to be getting bad. What they call a seal appears to be a switch that has turned a wheel that keeps on unravelling reality as time goes. So our current man power won’t cut if if we wish to get past whatever we satanic party we are in"
The officer put his hand on his chin, and looked at mountains on the far side. Currently that mountain was their mission. There’s a door that will allow them passage to another dimension but that mountain was infested with type 8 fallen going all the way to Mark 1 Type 1.
In the camp there were thousands of senior Jumpers from level 54 all the way to level 97. And only a dozen silver ranked jumpers from level 105 to Level 118. The highest being the chief commander.
"I hear a command was sent that each settlement should send at least 4 senior jumpers each. Won’t that cripple the security of their home. What are the higher ups thinking?" The soldiers asked. He was currently helping the commander with his documents. His eyes tracing the mountain out the plastic widow of the tent,
"Kid I like your courage but I’d advise you to abstain from getting used to talking bad of the higher ups. The law is far more loose in this day and age. And no one has the time to try and investigate the murder of a random soldier with no background"
The soldier felt a chill in the spine when he realised he got too comfortable and let his mouth run wild. While they were talking Alex was also receiving a command from Dr Selly.
"Will going to this dimension help with anything?"
Alex was confused by the sudden mission. He was at the research department, most of the week was spent there. First he was skeptical if he will ever enjoy being a guinea pig for a bunch of old bones who probably don’t understand anything about the mystery of the jumper phenomena.
But he was proven to be wrong and he was the ignorant one. Over the years, the wisdom collected of Mistica and jumpers had turned them into experts. That and also his chaos power had allowed the thinkers to go wild with their imaginations. What they once only thought as theories was quickly proven. Allowing them to jump leaps ahead in their field.
As for Alex, he had also learnt so much about his power and how chaos energy works. Though limited, the knowledge has increased his power by a large number.
"I thought we had already established that I won’t be doing anything that won’t benefit me"
Dr Selly sitting on her chair behind the desk. The General quiet on one of the couches, careful not to say a word, what transpired a week ago still fresh in his mind.
"This dimension will play a vital role in your journey. You will understand once you get there. You might even gain something you never thought you’ll ever have"
Alex, skeptical of her words, He walked back to one of the couches. The General made sure to stay clear of his path. Once he set down Alex thought of his plans. Through this week, he had realised just how divided humanity has become, the loss of technology has made the separation that much wider. He thought of the family he had before he died. The friends that betrayed him and the rage that still bubbles within him whenever he thinks about it.
So far it seemed as though he had lost all motivation since he returned. And most importantly he had no idea why he was reincarnated in the first place.
***
Why am I not surprised.
Suddenly everything around him froze in time. Dr Selly and General Malkov appear as though they were left behind by time. A voice so deep it rang within his stomach suddenly came about. It was as if the air itself was speaking. It jolted him into alertness.
"Who said that"
Though a Demon, you still operate like a human. A heart full of rage but old commands still run rampant in your mind
Around the corner of the office, a hooded figure phased in. The moment the entity walked Alex felt as though he was thrown into oblivion, Nothing made sense anymore. It was as though the moment the creature entered the space. All his urges, principles, desires and social programming left his body.
Within you is the opportunity to stand beyond all beings, To reach the pinnacle of reality itself. To understand the game of life yet here you are. Contemplating futile things.
"Then what is it that you think I should strive for? My place on this earth is still a mystery to me. Why is it that power seems to be the factor that demystifies the questions that I have."
You are still burdened by the human mind you possess. But no matter, it is through breaking this limitation of yours should you understand what is worth striving
"Then you tell me a mysterious figure, what should I strive for?"
Strive to become an obstacle. Do you know what is at the top? Do you understand what life is? You are pure potential made form but you still feel the need to waste it through helping lesser beings. You weren’t built to become a tool.
"What do you know about Demonic Fallen Angels"
You are a curious one, I admire that, but some things are for you to find on your own. Think of me as merely your guide.
The creature held out its hand and used its finger on Alex’s forehead. A dark light suddenly penetrated his mind. Alex started seeing all sorts of imagery. He saw a world run by Jumpers. Regular humans are treated no different from animals. Feminine spread all around, the less fortunate begging for food but there are Jumpers who could quickly grow a field of vegetation in a moment but still chose to capitalise on it.
This is how humanity was a hundred years ago and still the cycle still repeats itself. If you think yourself a human, you will be ruled by their laws. If care is what you possess, the misery will continue to follow you. Your weakness once got you killed. And here you are once more trying to play the same role.
The figure turned around and started to walk out the room. As it moved away from him. He felt all his emotions return back to him like a flood. He now understood why that creature stripped him of his emotions before it spoke with him. It had to make sure nothing blinds his judgment.
’If I live my life like I did before it really would be a waste of a second chance. I always thought that compliance with the rules of mankind meant making the world a better place. Now I understand, saving people under the current world system won’t get anything done’
"The word needs fixing"
Alex dazed, muttered under his breath.
"Alex! Alex!"
Dr Selly trying to get his attention. She finally got his attention.
"What?"
"You were saying something?"
He thought for a moment, and a look of resolve washed over his face.
"No nothing, I was probably day dreaming"
Selly narrowed her eyes as she looked over towards him
