Chapter 27: Chapter 27: The entrance!

"Think this is it?" Marcel asked with some excitement in his voice. The opening was wide, a chilling howling air coming from deep inside. The darkness before them was all consuming, with no bit of light sneaking inside.

"I don’t see any other opening besides this one, and the fallen was focused more around this area, I’ll take a guess and say yes." Bruce answered. He then turned to look at Alex. " Since shadows are your domain will you guide us?"

"I’m afraid this is where my shadows meet their match, despite how it seems. That before you is darkness, not shadow, and touches are out of the equation, the air blowing from the cage will turn it off immediately"

The group looked at each other, lost in what to say. "Don’t lose hope just yet, I have another way to navigate the cave, though I don’t know how realisable it is." Alex shrugged his shoulders as he explained. He was planning to use spiritual sight, but he never used this ability outside devouring souls, So if there’s one thing he knows, Spiritual energy is everywhere in the world. The rocks, the trees, even himself.

So if there was something that could help identify the darkness it was this ability.

Spiritual Sight!

Everyone suddenly felt their souls shudder, as if they just got exposed and completely naked for the world to see them. When they turned to look at Alex, they saw two voids on his face, no light could pierce through them. It was as though light got absorbed as soon as it got near his eye sockets. Trister’s face turned pale, she felt as though it was her soul not her eyes looking at Alex.

"Follow me"

Alex started walking forth, his theory turned out to be true, he was now looking at a brand new world, experiencing colours he did know was possible. Before he used to only look at the souls, now that his focus has shifted to everything .He felt as though he has been missing out. The air filled with wind elementals, the moisture within the cave had a thick presence in water elements, not even forgetting the earth elements present in the wall structure.

He felt like he was looking at the building blocks of reality, looking at something humanity has been wondering about all these years. As they walked in, they made sure to tie a rope around one another so as not to walk into walls or fall into pits along the way.

The team was quiet at this moment, the scare Alex gave them was still fresh, they could feel their souls still shaking as they walked. It was as if they were walking into a giant beast’s mouth and they willingly tied themselves nicely and gave it the other end of the robe.

Soon the wind was getting stronger and stronger. Marcel was feeling chilly because of his outfit choice. Shots and Vest. But his large stature helped him fight off the cold, even if it’s for a second. "It seems the fallen want something from within but fear something, I wonder if the thing generating the wind is something they want or fear?" Bruce wondered... 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

It didn’t take long to find the answer to Bruce’s question. From a far a spark of light started to show, like rays fighting to get out of a seal. They walked closer and closer, in no time there was no need for rope. The light was bright enough to see everything.

"Do you think any of the jumpers have already gotten here yet?" Alex wondered. Bruce squatted down, the ground was covered by flat rock, making it easy for to walk. Because of how the floor was, Bruce was able to find dirt, fresh dirt from multiple sources." From the looks of it, the ones who made it are in the hundreds, perhaps thousands. There air is just good at swiping away the dirt"

Looking in front of them was something that appeared to be a gate or door. It was quite thick. It should have taken quite the number of people to open it before it closes back on itself. "Anyone hav..."

Grrrrr....

"..."

The door was slowly and smoothly opening as though there was some mechanism at work. That is what they would have believed if Alex didn’t have his arms spread out and seem to be guiding the stone gate. Marcel walked next to Trister and whispered in her eye." Hey, how many abilities does this guy have, is this what someone without a mystica could do?" Trister just shrugged her shoulders in defeat.

On the other side of the gate, there seems to be a window that keeps changing scenes, but most of what they saw was white area filled with snow. The wind seems to be originating from this window. "Lady and gentlemen, I believe we finally found the portal to jump to another Dimension. Let’s begin" After the shot sentence from Bruce, they all held hands.

Charged in and passed through the mirror. Something unexpected happened, unlike the pictures they saw on the mirror, they were now looking at endless sand with scorching heat frying their brains. "Some Dimension of truth this is, why are we in a barren desert without a..."

Just as Marcel spoke, the ground beneath them shook, soon a scorpion as big as a semi-truck emerged from the sand. The group froze for a moment, not because of the size, but because they were seeing a regular scorpion. No strange changed heads, the tail isn’t made of the snake’s head and it’s not going to suddenly blast them with an energy beam.

They were hit with Nostalgia, making them almost not see the attack the scorpion was throwing right at them. Alex didn’t waste a second, He used his Mouha to take down one of the scorpion’s legs. It disregarded the pain, and came back for another attack, in which Alex took the fallen leg and aimed right on the chest, the leg making a clean cut.

But unfortunately all it did was enrage the beast more.
