Reincarnated To Evolve My Bee Empire-Chapter 170: Preparations begin with giving due to the new Adviser

"First of all," I said, "I'm glad to announce that our Council is expanding again. And with the recent events, I already know who I want in here. This person showed an exceptional ability to persevere through the bleakest of times and keep bright not only her own spirit, but that of others."

I made a dramatic pause, then realized that declaring the new Adviser won't have the same effect if the person I wanted to name wasn't there.

"Ahem. Actually, if you excuse me—can you sit here for ten minutes and pretend that I'm not calling anyone over?"

"Father! Is this really the time to be dramatic? Just say it!" Tabletina exclaimed.

The rest of the Advisers looked either equally exasperated, or just confused.

Ambrosia smiled, shaking her head. She looked as close to laughing outright as she ever was.

"As your Culture Adviser, Necty, I suggest that if you want a dramatic ceremony, you can perform it later. There are always many daughters and granddaughters who would love to see you in person—you can show them their new Adviser with all the drama you want."

I grinned with relief.

"Amby, what a great idea! Formal ceremonies—why not? It's time for our empire's culture to grow. Neither of you ever got a formal ceremony of getting the title, either! Or any of my little princesses, who are literal landed nobility!"

I clapped my hands and continued with less grandeur. The words I prepared beforehand were over, anyway.

"I want Worriesgone, our Chief Artist, to become the Culture Adviser. Ambrosia should have never been a Culture Adviser to begin with—her place is at my right hand as the Empress, which is her new position in the Council."

<Creating the 'Empress' Empire Council position is possible. Do you confirm this, user?>

'Yes, system.'

<Understood. The 'Empress' council position has been successfully created.>

My decision caused some whispers. Most people in the Council only knew Worriesgone because of the First Train. The only exceptions were Things-Things, who worked alongside her on that project, and Ambrosia, who was Worriesgone's direct boss until now.

"Oh, this will be great, Father!" Things-Things clapped with both pairs of hands. "Working in the Council can be tough, but I'm sure Worriesgone will pull through. Maybe it will even put some extra wind under her wings and muscle on her bones!"

Ambrosia nodded.

"Until now, I could oversee my duties without leaving Hive Supremo; Worriesgone won't have to overexert her body. I will be happy to teach her the new responsibilities."

"Great. Now, we can actually invite her over!"

"I-I… I'm so glad that you think I'm worthy of this position, Mother, Father! I never even dreamed of being here… But I will do everything I can to keep making you both proud!"

Worriesgone was crying from happiness again, to the visible concern of other Advisers.

As soon as she formally accepted her position, the system notified me.

<'Culture Adviser' and 'Empress' Empire Council positions have been successfully changed.>

With a glance at the Empire Council panel, I could see the new bonuses.

〔Culture Adviser〕: increases total resilience by 5% and culture by 20%. (Worriesgone)

〔Empress〕: increases all total attributes and wellness by 5%. (Ambrosia)

Different Advisers had different bonuses on different positions. Clearly, Worriesgone was way better in the actual culture stuff than Ambrosia, but the unexpected resilience boost was great as well.

As for Ambrosia, her 3% overall boost grew to 5%—she was in her rightful place. My already good mood grew even better.

I vigorously patted Worriesgone's head, beaming when she blushed a little. The red stood out a lot on her pale face.

"You have already made us all so, *so* proud! And, since you are the Culture Adviser now, you can arrange your own and your fellow Advisers' installment ceremony."

"A ceremony? Oh, this sounds great, Father. When does it have to happen? I want to make it special for everyone!"

I shrugged.

"Don't be in a hurry. We, sadly, still have other concerns… Such as the future diplomacy with the green giants who are actually called 'humans', by the way."

Now that the Council was filled again, I could move to genetic stuff. Which meant bringing Worriesgone up to date with it first—but it didn't take long.

She was a smart girl, just like the rest of them!

At the mention of great giants, the Council's mood grew serious, and the new genes were picked with utmost efficiency. The system helped by not giving me much choice—most of what she suggested was the old and familiar garbage. The best choice was usually obvious.

Too bad seeing the genes bear fruit took way longer than picking them. But this time, I hoped we had time for at least one new generation.

I didn't bother putting points into strength this time. Our attack forces weren't going to dramatically change with new genes. They were going to change with the gene points I will put in Beemarines!

So I put two points into defense, and was rewarded with some of the best of today's genes—a stat boost. Heat resistance was good, too—both against humans, and for our metallurgic industry—but more importantly, it was better than radiation resistance which the system suggested again.

〔Heat Resistance I->II: reduces damage from fire and reduces the speed of overheating by 40%.〕

〔Enhanced Defense II->III: increases base defense to 30.〕

Then I switched to endurance, putting 2 more points there. That stat had some of the best genes, and it didn't disappoint me (too much).

〔Slow-Twitch Muscles: increases maximum stamina by 20%.〕

〔Reduced Sleep I: reduces the amount of sleep needed daily by 1 hour.〕

This was going to boost both the Empire's military might and its overall economics.

With the major stuff covered, I put the last point into agility out of interest if nothing else, and was rewarded with the most notable gene of today—but not the one I wanted, or even expected to see at all.
