Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?-Chapter 1684: Family Dinner
Chapter 1684: Family Dinner
-----
Aquarina, her family and friends began cooking dinner. And they decided to cook mostly everything the villagers offered to them anyway, as it was quite necessary, or it would go bad pretty quickly, unless it was stored. However, it would be better to eat it all now than to leave it for later, as a showcase of gratitude towards their kindness.
The fish was prepared in a myriad of ways, and there were many fish Aquarina had never seen before too, some were long resembling eels, others were small species of sharks, and a few were even armored and as hard as crabs.
The crabs and large lobsters or shrimps were all boiled together into a large pot too, and to accompany this seafood feast, they also cooked some of the roots that they harvested before, large white colored seeds, and also made a lot of salad.
At the end, Aquarina also ended baking some bread for her friends, who had grown to like bread quite a lot, who had barely tasted it before. The delicious bread, freshly baked from a homemade oven, was ready once everyone sat down to enjoy the meal together.
"Oh wow, this bread is somehow even tastier than the other before!" Said Silvia. "Hmm, it goes so well with cheese and grilled fish!"
"It’s delicious by just dipping it on the sauces too," said Justicio. "The sauces are all absorbed inside the bread, it’s incredible."
"Hmm, I wish we could eat bread every day..." Agua said, munching on the bread happily.
"You cannot grow wheat in here?" wondered Nepheline, as she ate the meat of a large lobster claw.
"I think we could, but the space in here is quite limited, and we would rather not cover the beauty of the jungle with other plans. The food we have is fine and delicious as it is! We’re creating new dishes every year as well, as we grow quite bored sometimes, but not to the extent we need to plant foreign plants for our own amusement," explained the chief.
"Y-Yeah, I meant it like... the bread is very delicious, I wouldn’t want to harm the forest just to eat every day," said Agua, nodding affirmatively to not make her mother think otherwise about her.
However, her mother knew her way too well...
"I know you want to explore the world out there, dear. And I know you probably also want to taste all kinds of things," said her mother. "Through these last days I’ve learned a lot of things about you and what you really think deep inside that little head. I think... once you grow up into an adult, it wouldn’t be bad."
"M-Mom..." Agua muttered, feeling moved by her mother’s words. "But..."
"First of all, you need to finish the trial right? Then do the inheritance trial! And then, train and wait until you become a complete adult, which is at the age of eighteen," said her mother. "Alright? Once that’s done... well, we can see what might happen."
"O-Okay! I will keep working hard, mother, don’t worry about me," Agua nodded. "I... I really do want to explore the world... The places Aquarina has visited, whenever she tells me about them, I really begin to wonder just how big the world is... beyond this crater, and beyond the desert."
"I see..." Her mother nodded with a smile, although she was a bit sad her daughter might leave the nest earlier than she would have wanted. "I’m glad you made such great friends, Agua. Thank you for being her friend, and making my daughter happy, and also help her find a new purpose... I might be a bit sad but... If that is what she wants, I’m okay with it. After all, I always knew that one day, she would have to leave the nest."
"Ah, well..." Aquarina felt embarrassed. "I don’t really know what to say, but I’ll try to be the best friend she could ever have!"
"Yes, of course," nodded Silvia. "We’ll work hard together!"
"Yeah," Justicio nodded. "I’ll protect Agua too, don’t worry. As long as she’s with us, no harm will come to her."
"I don’t know if I have much of a saying here... but Agua has been a good girl to me," Pyuku said. "She’s a good friend I will protect with my life."
"Everyone..." Agua felt moved, as she saw her friends speak and nod, smiling gently at her.
In all her life she had never felt this way before, with such a big group of friends willing to go to hell for her, and how she felt the same about them.
It was... as if she finally had a bigger family aside from her mother, or perhaps the villagers, that due to her status, were quite distant to her due to their reverence to the priestess title and the spirit of the oasis.
"Thank you... I really mean it! Thanks a lot!" Agua giggled adorably, smiling.
Like that, the night came to an end and after dinner, everyone went to sleep. Aquarina had no time to see her system status today, so she decided to check that next morning.
As the night passed, and as the stars shone brightly above the dark sky, Nepheline, Shade, and Aguarapida talked while sharing a liquor drink made of tropical fruits that grow in this area.
"Kids really grow way too fast, don’t they?" Aguarapida wondered. "I still remember when my baby Agualinda was just born... Then how she slowly grew up over time. Back then, I really thought she would remain a child forever as I taught her everything she knows now."
"Yeah, Aquarina can be a handful sometimes but..." Nepheline said. "She is our treasure as well, and we felt a bit sad how she grew up so quickly..."
"We’ve shared all sorts of adventures with her as well, being a parent has been a journey by itself, one perhaps harder than going against the demon king in some aspects," Shaded smiled lightly.
"Ah, well, it’s not like we’re not going to experience that all over again soon enough, haha," Nepheline giggled, as she rubbed her big belly, and kissed Shade.
"I’m happy for you two, I hope the baby is born healthy and has a wonderful future," Aguarapida said.
"Thank you."
"We really appreciate your words, Aguarapida."
