Reincarnated With a SSS-Rank Hypnosis Skill in Another World-Chapter 35 - Ultimatum
"Argh..."
I could feel the insides of my body twisting in suffering within seconds as I woke up.
I had no idea what was happening to me, but even now that I had woken up, I was still in terrible shape. It was as if I could be dying in the next second, out of completely nowhere. It was honestly troubling, to say the least.
"W-What’s happening to me?" I muttered as I looked around, trying to see the faces and figures standing around me.
Aria was the first one I saw, her beautiful eyes and face entering my sight.
I turned my head to the left, and Elena was there, crying, her tears falling onto my shirt and wetting it. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
And before me was the king, looking at me with a frown. It was hard to tell if he was happy or angry about the fight I had just put up.
After all, he had probably expected an easy win. For me to struggle so much against such a weak opponent, he was probably disappointed. Though, what he didn’t know was that I hadn’t fought against Vex but the God of Poison, who had taken control of his body.
"Y-You’re alive!" Elena screamed out of nowhere as I felt her arms wrap around my neck, pulling me closer to her. "W-Why did you do that... Why did you go into that powerful poison?"
She muttered in my ear, still crying.
I glanced at her face, her red cheeks, her beautiful eyes, and I was stunned. I didn’t know what to tell her. I just did what I had to do to win.
I knew that I had Last Stand. But right now, it looked like I was still affected by the poison because as she continued to hug me, I felt something coming up my throat. Something unpleasant and smelly, to say the least.
A strange-looking green substance came out of my throat. I coughed some of it onto Elena, who was losing her mind in real time.
"Where’s the healer!?" she screamed. "He’s clearly still sick! What the hell are you guys doing? You’re supposed to be the best in the entire world. How can you struggle to cure him of this poison cast by a 3rd Mana Circle Mage!?"
"Heal him! FAST!"
She screamed the words coming out of her mouth without a thought in her mind.
That’s when I realized that Elena really liked me. She wanted me to survive above everything else. I could see it in her eyes as she moved away from my body, letting the healers come over.
I stood on the bed, surrounded by another batch of healers. All of them looked extremely serious and powerful. I could barely grasp their power from this close range. There was no doubt that the king had used all of his influence.
"This poison... How is it so potent?" one of the healers muttered under their breath.
"I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s as if all of our powers are useless against it. No matter what we try, it keeps coming back and attacking him from within even more ferociously than before."
I heard their words as I slowly started realizing that even now that I had beaten Vex... there was a very good chance that I would be dying. All that because I had infuriated a God.
I felt their hands and power all over my body. But the pain was still there.
But that was only then that I saw yet another message sent by the system.
[The God of Poison wants to have a talk with you.]
[Do you accept?]
My eyes widened.
I looked at the healers around me and I knew... that they were completely lost as to what they were supposed to do to completely heal me. They had no idea; they had just muttered it. They had no idea what kind of poison this was.
There was probably only one man who could save me from this dreaded situation, and... unfortunately, it was the same person who had put me in this dire state.
I thought for a few seconds of a way out. But there was nothing.
’Yes. I agree.’
Instead of my body leaving this time, it was my consciousness that left my body as I felt it moving through space faster than ever before.
And then, within seconds, I reached the same place as before, where a lonesome man with gray skin stood by the edge of his land, his legs dangling in the sky. However, this time his entire vibe was different than before.
He turned toward me and smirked.
"Look who’s here."
He started laughing.
"Losing hope, are you?"
I clenched my teeth. I knew what he wanted. He wanted me to receive his powers; only then would he be curing me. But even now, I didn’t want them. I didn’t want to be alone in this new life of mine, forced to kill. It didn’t interest me at all.
"I’m sure you know what I want. But enough of that; I have a different proposition compared to before, one that might interest you this time around."
He continued to smile. "I was impressed by your will and strength. You even managed to beat me, even if I was inside the body of a weaker being. Not many otherworldly beings could have managed such a thing. That’s why... I have an opportunity for you. Become my apostle; if you accept, then I will cure you of this poison slowly killing you from within. What do you think?"
I could see it in his eyes. He was convinced that I would agree.
After all, what other choice did I have?
Those healers were useless. He was the only one who could save me.
Just as I thought about accepting his
offer, I then received multiple messages from the system.
[Multiple Gods are considering offering you the same offer.]
[God of Justice offers to heal you and for you to become his apostle.]
[God of Lightning offers to heal you and for you to become his apostle.]
...
Dozens of Gods were now all begging me to become their apostle.
