Reincarnated With An SSS-Rank Talent In An Apocalyptic World-Chapter 70: President Brigg’s Speech
Chapter 70: President Brigg’s Speech
Ding-Dong!
Ding-Dong!
My eyes fluttered open at the sound of my alarm clock, set at 10 p.m. after last night’s outing, yet I felt worn out.
> [Weakened State:] 11:57
Instinctively, my gaze fell on my status, causing me to groan and roll onto my belly, before pulling the sheets over my head. My eyes were shut tight, but I could still see the final moments of my fight with Dayvon last night. The power of the Black Sigil made him look invincible. This made me feel like I would still lose to him even if I used all my abilities—especially since he didn’t reveal the powers of all seven sins, which the system claimed he had.
Swoosh!
I tossed the sheets aside and sat up with a frustrated frown. How many did he use in that fight?
Two or three, or was it four?
"No, it’s three... Three out of seven... That’s what it took to beat me?" I gasped in utter disbelief.
I can’t believe I lost to a Limitless, even without forcing him to use his full power. My gaze shifted to the bottom-left corner where the system notification remained, refusing to leave after last night’s brawl.
> [Mission Failed...]
This was the first time I had received such a message from the system, and it wanted me to see my failure for a while.
"Come on, give me a break!" I rolled my eyes and fell on the bed, looking toward the ceiling.
Buzz-Buzz!
From the corner of my eye, I noticed my phone buzzing on the bedside desk. I put my phone on silent to avoid unwanted calls, yet the vibration has never ceased to annoy me.
"I’ll take it off vibration too... This time we are going full DND." I snorted disdainfully and continued gazing at the ceiling.
I didn’t bother to pick up the call because I knew it was from Pamela. After the stunt she pulled last night, I was determined to go incognito and focus on more important things for the remainder of my two-week break.
But what am I supposed to do?
I have successfully saved my Nightfall Dominion territory from dark beasts, so it would take a while for it to get attacked. Since Empress Emma failed to give me her reply, I had no reason to fraternize with the town or go dark-entity hunting. In fact, I needed the empire to get attacked, so that they could run to me at their time of need.
But that isn’t happening any time soon.
With nothing to do, I reached toward the bedside table and picked up a remote. I turned on the television, and it naturally played the last channel I watched, which was WLN News. They were currently replaying last night’s news, which I missed because Pamela thought it was best to pull me out of the comfort of my dormitory only to get beat up by a stranger.

WLN Evening News
Anchor: Andre Winters
Broadcast Time: 7:00 PM CST
Location: National Newsroom – WLN Headquarters, Houston
(Opening music plays. The screen fades from the red-white-blue WLN logo to a solemn studio. The American flag looms in the background, dimly lit. A serious-looking man in a navy suit leans forward at the desk.)
ANDRE WINTERS (Anchor):
Good evening. I’m Andre Winters, and you’re watching WLN Evening News. Tonight, we bring you the hardest truth of our time.
At approximately 3:19 a.m. Central, two days ago, the state of Louisiana officially fell.
Entire cities now lie in ruin. Over 7.3 million lives are presumed lost or unaccounted for.
The President has issued a national emergency order.
(Screen shifts to a video feed from the White House briefing room. President Briggs stands behind a podium, flanked by military officials and Limitless Agency officers.)
PRESIDENT BRIGGS (Live):
Good evening, my fellow Americans. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
Today, we face a tragedy of immeasurable scale. Louisiana—our proud southern heart—has fallen. The invaders who emerged from that cursed rift have butchered our people, taken our land, and spat on our sovereignty.
I speak to them now—if they’re watching. You will not go unpunished.
We will not let monsters—whether from rift, hell, or some twisted dimension—hold American soil.
Not now. Not ever.
(He slams the podium with his palm.)
Starting tomorrow morning, we launch Operation Take It Back—a full-force offensive to reclaim every inch of what was taken.
Our troops are already mobilizing at the state border. The Texas Guard, Mississippi Front, and Arkansas Strike Divisions have established forward bases within miles of the corrupted zone.
(Cut to footage: Convoys of armored trucks rolling across cracked highways. Limitless Agents forming squads. Helicopters and drones flood the sky over Eastern Texas.)
PRESIDENT BRIGGS (Voice-Over continues):
And to all Limitless—whether in public service, private agency, or academy training...
If your blood still burns red,
If your soul still calls this land home,
Then step forward.
Join the reclaiming forces. We need you—your strength, your resolve, your courage.
This isn’t just about Louisiana.
It’s about tomorrow.
Because if we let this stand—if we abandon them—then tomorrow, it could be your city.
Your state.
Your family.
(He looks directly into the camera.)
This is our country.
We take it back at dawn.
(Feed cuts.)
ANDRE WINTERS (Anchor):
Strong words from President Briggs. WLN has confirmed that recruitment centers across Texas, Alabama, and Oklahoma have extended open calls to all Limitless—licensed or provisional—willing to take up arms.
Two days from now, the skies over Louisiana will change.
And we’ll be there to cover it—live, on the front lines.
Until then, stay safe. Stay ready. And stay united.
This is Andre Winters, WLN News.
God bless America.
(Screen fades to black as military footage rolls in the background—brief flashes of Limitless agents preparing for war, and the ruined skyline of Louisiana engulfed in a crimson dome.)

I blinked repeatedly as numerous thoughts ran through my head. I had to sort them out one after the other.
The first was: President Briggs looked as normal as normal could be. A plain-looking man in his fifties with smoothly gelled hair in a blue suit and red tie. I had expected the president of the Imperial States of America—which has conquered every land in both southern and northern America—to be a bit more... intimidating.
He could be mistaken for any random elderly man walking down the streets of Texas.
The second thing that caught my attention was the war waged on Louisiana—or should I say, Lee Bai. Even if I wasn’t interested in the war and the possible rewards that may come out of it, I can’t let go of an opportunity to weaken Lee Bai—or even possibly kill him.
This was an opportunity to kill a competitor and a threat!
