Reincarnated with an SSS-rank Tamer System: My Harem of Villainesses-Chapter 11 - Progress and new mission
Two weeks had passed since that conversation with the system.
Adam was in the training area, doing push-ups with a heavy rock on his back while sweat dripped down his face, soaking the ground beneath him. His arms trembled with every repetition, but he did not stop.
Ravenna stood to the side, watching him in silence with a worried expression that had already become habitual.
Adam was shirtless, showing muscles that were now slightly more defined than before. They weren’t impressive, considering the little time he had been at it, but it was evident there was progress. His body was no longer that of a weak, untrained boy.
’System,’ he called out mentally as he continued with the push-ups.
The screen appeared in front of him, showing his progress for the day.
[Tamer System]
[Daily Training:]
Weighted Sit-ups (100/100) ✓
Weighted Squats (100/100) ✓
Weighted Push-ups (98/100) - in progress
Weighted Run (10/10 km) ✓
Sword Practice (1:55/2 hours) - almost complete
Meditation (0/3 hours) - pending
"Ninety-eight... ninety-nine... one hundred," he muttered between his teeth as he finished the last push-up and let the weight fall to the side with a dull thud.
He stayed on the ground for a moment, breathing heavily before slowly getting up and taking the towel Ravenna offered him, which he used to wipe the sweat from his face.
’Two weeks,’ he thought while catching his breath. ’Two damn weeks training like a madman.’
And he hadn’t just been training his physique.
During these two weeks, Adam had dedicated endless hours to meditating, trying to visualize and strengthen his mana core. Because having a high-rank core, like A+, meant nothing if you didn’t train it.
The system had made it clear to him from the beginning: potential was just that, potential. If you didn’t develop it, it was the same as nothing.
So Adam had followed the book’s instructions to the letter, meditating every night for hours until he finally managed to fully visualize his core. It was a small, glowing sphere located in the center of his chest, pulsating with constant energy.
Since then, he had been absorbing mana from the outside bit by bit, strengthening that core. It was a slow and exhausting process, but a necessary one.
Adam approached the weapon rack to complete that portion and without a second thought took a wooden sword and held it firmly, feeling the familiar weight in his hand as he settled into a stance.
Then he began to move.
The slashes were precise and fluid. Each movement followed a technique he had learned in his past life, adapting it to this new body: spins, thrusts, diagonal cuts—all executed with a mastery he hadn’t possessed when he first arrived in this world.
His body was finally starting to respond as it should.
Ravenna watched him in awe. She had never seen her lord move that way. It was as if he were a completely different person.
Adam finished the sequence with a horizontal slash and then set the sword aside, breathing heavily. Without wasting time, he approached one of the wooden posts and struck it with his bare hand.
The impact echoed through the training area. Adam felt the pain surge through his knuckles, but he didn’t stop and struck again. Once. Twice. Ten times.
His knuckles began to bleed.
"Your excellence, please—" Ravenna began, but another maid who was there approached quickly; she was a young elf with silver hair wearing a white robe.
Without a word, the elf approached Adam and placed her hands over his bloody knuckles, and a soft green light emanated from her palms as the magic began to work, closing the wounds almost instantly.
Adam only nodded in gratitude and kept striking the post.
He didn’t care about getting hurt since the pain was temporary. What mattered was strengthening his body, getting it used to the blows, to the resistance.
After several more minutes, he finally stopped and let the maid heal his hands one last time.
Once finished, Adam walked toward a nearby bench to sit down, catching his breath. He looked at the system screen that was still floating in front of him.
[Tamer System]
[There are no rewards for this type of training, host. You are only strengthening your body and your core. You will not receive XP or level up with this.]
Adam clicked his tongue. "Then when the fuck am I going to level up?"
[Tamer System]
[Ah, now that you mention it...]
[I have a new mission for you.]
The screen changed, showing a new message.
[Mission: Tomorrow, return to the forest where you first appeared and defeat an E-rank beast.]
[Reward: +100 XP]
[Punishment: None (but you will remain level 10 forever if you do not accept)]
Adam read the message carefully; one hundred experience points meant he could finally start leveling up.
He was currently level 10, which meant all his stats were capped at 100. He couldn’t increase them beyond that without leveling up. But upon reaching level 11, that cap would increase to 120.
It was a significant difference.
"An E-rank beast?" Adam murmured, frowning. "How strong is that?"
[Tamer System]
[Beast Ranks: F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS, SSR. An E-rank beast is approximately as strong as a novice mage, but weaker than you currently are; however, it will be a good warm-up.]
Adam smiled slightly. "Interesting."
[Tamer System]
[Do you accept the mission?]
"Yes," he replied without hesitation.
[Tamer System]
[Mission accepted. Good luck, host. Try not to die.]
With that, the screen vanished.
Adam remained sitting on the bench, looking at the horizon as he processed the information. Returning to the forest where he had first appeared. The same place where he had fought those bandits and where he had made the contract with Nox.
’An E-rank beast.’ he thought, clenching his fists. ’It’ll be a good challenge.’
He stood up from the bench and took the towel Ravenna offered him again, drying the sweat from his torso and arms.
"Ravenna," he said while wiping himself down.
"Yes, your excellence?"
"Tomorrow, I’m going to the forest. Prepare what is necessary."
Ravenna blinked in surprise but nodded. "As you command, your excellence."
Adam set the towel aside and looked toward the sky; the sun was beginning to set, tinting everything in an orange hue.
’Finally, something interesting,’ he thought with a crooked smile as he walked back toward the mansion to bathe and meditate.
Two weeks of monotonous training had been necessary, but now he would finally have the chance to test how strong he had become.
