Reincarnated with an SSS-rank Tamer System: My Harem of Villainesses-Chapter 27 – Inauguration
Adam and Evelyne approached the entrance of the academy, where several people were working, all dressed in official uniforms as they asked for the names of the arriving students.
The line moved slowly, so they had to wait quite a while as others were attended to.
When it was finally their turn, the man in charge looked directly at Adam, his gaze lingering on the emblem on his chest. Without saying a single word beyond a nod, he simply gestured for him to pass.
Adam nodded in response before glancing at Evelyne, who gave him a faint smile as she quietly told him they would see each other later.
The man who had attended them pointed in a specific direction while explaining that he needed to head toward the area designated for high-ranking nobles, where students were divided into three main groups according to their status: lesser, middle, and high nobles.
Adam walked where he had been directed, observing his surroundings carefully, noticing to his displeasure that he stood out the most among everyone for two main reasons: his clothes, which, although of good quality, were not the official uniform. And the second, his height, considerably shorter than most of those present.
’Great.’ he thought with irony as he approached the corresponding group.
Evelyne, on the other hand, headed toward the group of lesser nobles without any problem, bidding him farewell with a wave of her hand before disappearing into the crowd.
Adam finally reached his group and stood in line, immediately noticing the blue-haired girl he had seen at the restaurant the night before.
She was first in line alongside other girls, all maintaining perfect posture as they conversed quietly among themselves.
He was about to lose himself in his own thoughts when he felt someone tap his shoulder from behind.
He turned around and had to look up to meet a boy considerably taller than him. He had slightly messy dark brown hair, bright green eyes, and a friendly smile on his face.
"Hi, you’re Adam Shadowend, right?" the boy asked in a casual but clearly excited tone.
That immediately caught the attention of several students around them, who turned their heads to glance at him while pretending not to pay attention.
Adam simply looked at him for a moment before nodding. "Yes."
The boy smiled even more widely at that. "Oh, good. I’m Piers Hawke."
Adam nodded again without adding much to the conversation. "Adam."
For the next ten minutes, Piers continued talking with all the enthusiasm in the world about the other students.
Adam limited himself to occasionally giving vague replies or nodding when absolutely necessary, not really showing much interest in the conversation, though not being rude either.
That was when an elderly woman, around sixty years old, appeared, walking toward the center of the academy’s main courtyard with firm and steady steps despite her age.
She wore elegant dark purple robes with golden details that clearly indicated her high rank within the institution.
The woman spoke loudly, her voice magically amplified so that everyone could hear her without any problems as she introduced herself with authority.
"Good morning, students. I am Acelina Brookhaven, headmistress of the academy."
Her voice resonated throughout the courtyard, causing everyone present to immediately fall silent and pay attention.
She began speaking about the school, its long history, and the achievements it had accomplished over the years, proudly mentioning that this academy had produced some of the best mages not only from their own country, but also from neighboring kingdoms.
"This year," she added as her eyes swept over all the students present, "not only are we honored to welcome the princes of our own crown, but the heirs of four neighboring kingdoms have also come to train among us."
That generated excited murmurs among the students as the headmistress began calling names.
"From our own kingdom: Sophía Stormcrown and Igaris Stormcrown."
Two figures stepped forward from a group separate from the other three.
Sophía was an elegant elf, with long yellow hair cascading down to her waist like a waterfall. Her eyes were golden, and her delicate features displayed her royal lineage without a doubt.
Igaris, on the other hand, was human and considerably taller than his sister. He had short blond hair perfectly combed back, eyes of the same golden shade as his sister, and an athletic build that suggested constant training.
Both stood in the center of the courtyard while all the other students applauded respectfully.
The headmistress continued calling the heirs of the other four kingdoms.
"From the kingdom of Ketharis: Princess Isolwen Ashveil."
A woman with long silver hair gathered into an elaborate braid and violet eyes stepped forward with elegant strides.
"From the kingdom of Sorvelheim: Prince Caelan Blackthorn and Prince Lucien Blackthorn."
Two beastmen with wolf-like features stepped forward together. Both had black hair with gray streaks, pointed wolf ears, and bright amber eyes. They were clearly twins given their nearly identical appearance.
"From the kingdom of Kryndahar: Prince Daemon Silvershade, Prince Theron Silvershade, Prince Cassian Silvershade, and Princess Lyanna Silvershade."
Four elves stepped forward with natural grace. The three princes had long white hair and blue eyes, while the princess had hair of the same white color but eyes of a soft pink shade that contrasted with her pale skin.
"And finally, from the kingdom of Emberfall: Princess Neryssah Firehart."
A beastwoman with phoenix-like features stepped forward confidently. She had bright red hair with orange streaks that seemed to move like living flames, intense golden eyes, and small feathers decorating her temples that shimmered.
All the royal heirs stood together in the center while the other students applauded with respect and admiration.
Headmistress Acelina smiled in satisfaction at the display before continuing. "Now, allow me to present the children of the most powerful noble families of our kingdom."
She began calling names one by one.
Before it was Adam’s turn, they called the blue-haired girl he had seen at the restaurant.
"Miss Valeria Ashcroft."
The girl stepped forward with perfectly measured strides, her posture impeccable as she walked to the center without showing any nervousness. Her long blue hair shone under the morning sunlight while her eyes of the same color briefly scanned everyone present before she stopped beside the others.
Then it was Adam’s turn.
"Sir Adam Shadowend."
The surname caused the same murmur among the students present, many turning to look directly at him as he walked forward.
Some whispered about his clothes being different from the standard uniform, others about his noticeably shorter height compared to the other high nobles.
Even Headmistress Acelina observed him with curiosity for a brief moment before smiling kindly at him as he took his place beside Valeria and the other three nobles who had already been called.
Adam noted with a hint of irony that Valeria was taller than him. He still was not used to that. Before, he was always the one looking down from above. Suddenly, an old image came to his mind: him surrounded by several girls, all looking up at him as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
The headmistress briefly introduced each of them, mentioning their families and relevant achievements before allowing them to return to their places as she continued with the rest of the ceremony.
That was when the system decided to appear.

[Alert: Several villainesses have been detected among the present students]
[Names cannot be revealed at this time. It is up to the host to discover them on his own]
[Recommendation: Observe carefully and interact strategically]
Adam clicked his tongue as his eyes swept over everyone who was looking at him from different angles.
’Who could they be?’ He could not rely on his prior knowledge of the novel; he had seen several main characters and the roles they played, but he did not fully trust it.
His gaze eventually found Evelyne among the rows of the lesser nobles group. She was discreetly waving at him with a small smile on her face.
Adam simply nodded in response before turning his attention back to the front, where the headmistress continued speaking about the academy’s rules and expectations.
’This is going to be more complicated than I thought.’ That was his last thought as he tried to memorize as many faces as possible among the crowd.
Somewhere among all these students were the villainesses he was supposedly meant to conquer.
And he had no idea who they were exactly. He only had Evelyne...
