Reincarnation Of The Legendary Sword Saint-Chapter 93: Black Flame Surge
Michael rolled near a tree as the dark flame struck. The tree exploded into black ash, vaporized to its roots in an instant. Not a spark, not a fragment, just ashes.
This is bad, really bad, Michael muttered, eyes narrowing.
Michael forced himself to stand straight, raising his hand.
The only way I can match him, I have to pour every ounce of mana in my heart into this fight.
But even as he thought that, reality hit him. If I had done this from the beginning, I might’ve been stronger, but now I’m battered. My sword, I don’t even have it. I’ll have to fight with my fists.
Ah!
He surged forward. His red aura flared violently, cracking the ground beneath him as he ran. The air shimmered and twisted with raw energy.
Kosan towered above him, twelve feet of muscle and dark flame, far larger and stronger than Michael. His massive form moved effortlessly, each step shaking the earth.
Michael swung his fist, striking the air toward Kosan’s chest. Kosan blocked easily, joining his massive arms together. The force slid Michael backward, but he didn’t hesitate.
I can’t give him a chance, Michael thought.
Kosan struck next, a crushing punch aimed at Michael’s stomach. Michael bent low, twisting his body to absorb some of the impact, but blood spurted from his mouth. The air around them whistled as Kosan’s power pressed down on him like a mountain.
"I don’t have time for this," Kosan growled, his towering form radiating dark energy. "First, tell me where the crystal is."
"You still haven’t won," Michael shot back, his voice steady, every word filled with resolve. "I’ve never been defeated, and you’re not enough."
"Is that still what you think?" Kosan said coldly, towering over him like a dark giant. His voice carried a cruel certainty. "You’re barely even standing, and I don’t want to kill you until you tell me where it is."
His eyes narrowed.
"Because if you don’t..."
A slow smile formed on his face.
"I’ll burn every student in that school. I’ll burn the entire academy down until I find it."
Michael’s body trembled, but he forced himself to straighten.
Blood ran down his chin.
Yet his eyes stayed sharp.
"I can assure you of this," Michael said, his voice steady despite his condition. "Even if you do that, it still might not be in the school."
Kosan’s aura surged.
Michael continued.
"All I know is where it is. And as promised, because I am a man of my word..."
He lifted his fists.
"If you truly defeat me, I will tell you."
Kosan’s smile widened.
"Oh? Then so be it."
He raised his hand.
And the world changed.
A massive dark flame began to form in his palm.
It wasn’t normal fire.
It was black.
A dark flame blast so dense it looked like a hole in reality itself.
The air screamed.
The trees around them began to shake violently.
Then,
CRRRK!
Huge trees were ripped from the ground, uprooted like grass, dragged toward the growing black flame.
It was like a black hole.
The air itself was being sucked inward.
The forest trembled.
Everything around them began to glow with a dark, terrifying pressure.
Michael stared at it.
His lips curled into a smile.
"Haha..."
His breathing became heavier.
His heart pounded harder.
"Haha... what do you know... just how strong is his energy?"
He wiped blood from his mouth.
"I’m the one losing, but still..."
His smile widened.
"I feel excited."
He raised his arms.
"LET’S HAVE IT!"
Michael screamed, his aura erupting.
"This is it, full force!"
His voice shook the forest.
"I’m using everything! Every single ounce of mana I have!"
His aura changed.
It became different.
Half of it burned a deep crimson.
The other half glowed a lighter red.
Two shades of power twisting together.
His injuries began to close.
His muscles tightened.
His veins pulsed.
And his eyes,
His eyes turned completely red.
Pure red.
The ground beneath him cracked as pressure exploded outward.
Kosan lifted his hand higher.
The dark flame blast grew even more massive.
Then Kosan swung his arm downward.
And released it.
BOOOOOOM!!
The black flame surged forward like a wave of death.
Michael slammed both arms together, crossing them in front of his body.
He caught it.
But the moment he did,
His feet dragged backward violently.
The ground tore apart under him as he was pushed at insane speed.
"AAAHH!!"
Michael screamed, teeth clenched.
His boots dug trenches into the earth.
The pressure was crushing.
It was swallowing everything.
His aura roared, resisting with everything it had.
"I won’t fall!"
Michael roared, forcing himself to keep standing.
"I WON’T FALL HERE!"
The dark blast continued pushing him back.
Faster.
Harder.
Stronger.
Michael’s arms shook.
His body trembled.
But his eyes burned with madness and pride.
"NOT HERE!!"
Michael screamed, pouring all his power into resisting the blast.
Still being forced backward.
Still refusing to kneel.
Then,
It exploded.
BOOOOOOM!!
The black blast erupted violently, swallowing the forest in destruction. The shockwave tore through the trees, ripping the ground apart as dust and debris filled the air like a storm.
Kosan paused.
Smoke covered everything.
For a moment, silence.
Then the dust slowly began to settle.
And there he was.
Michael.
His armor was gone.
Shattered.
Burned away.
Only torn long trousers remained on his body.
His chest rose and fell violently.
Inhaling.
Exhaling.
Inhaling.
Exhaling.
Blood poured from multiple wounds across his body. A deep cut ran down his forehead, blood dripping into his eyes and rolling down his face.
His legs trembled.
But he still tried to move.
He forced one foot forward.
Then another.
Dragging himself forward through sheer willpower.
"I... I have to..."
His voice was broken.
"I won’t fall here..."
He tried again.
Step.
Step.
But then,
A sharp pain exploded inside his chest.
His heart felt like it had been stabbed.
Michael’s eyes widened.
His body shook.
And he collapsed.
