REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 327: Same As Before
10 kilometers...
7 kilometers...
3 kilometers...
.
200 meters...
Whoosh!
A crushing wave of air slammed into Logan, nearly sending him flying as the streak of golden light tore across the void and arrived before him in the blink of an eye.
The light halted and started cooling.
A colossal golden creature materialized before him, its body vast and majestic, curling like a mountain range suspended in the void. The sheer pressure of its presence made the air tremble.
Logan’s heartbeat thundered in his chest.
Slowly, the creature’s enormous head lowered until it hovered directly before him.
"A dragon... The Golden Dragon..." Logan whispered, his voice barely audible.
"Long time no see." The dragon’s voice boomed like heavenly tribulation, like thunder splitting the skies.
Logan was too stunned to notice the faint familiarity hidden within that voice. His mind had gone blank.
Noticing the daze in Logan’s eyes, the dragon’s massive form shimmered slightly, causing the surrounding void to quake.
Only then did Logan snap back to his senses.
"How have you been?" the dragon asked again.
"Me?" Logan blinked in disbelief. He never imagined a dragon would not only speak the human tongue, but also ask about his well-being.
"I... I’ve been fine," he replied, though the slight tremor in his voice betrayed his nervousness.
The dragon’s forehead twitched faintly, though the expression was too subtle for Logan to notice.
"You still don’t remember me?" the dragon asked.
"Remember you? Have we... met before?" Logan frowned. Even combining the memories of both his lives, he could not recall ever encountering a dragon.
The question ignited something within the dragon. Its aura flared violently.
The space around them distorted, as if ready to shatter under its fury.
"I thought I would make it easier for you this time," the dragon said coldly. "But it seems you are not worthy."
"You will earn the inheritance the same way you did before."
Before Logan could respond, the dragon transformed into a streak of golden lightning again and soared high, vanishing without a trace.
"Wait...!" Logan called out, but it was already gone.
Silence returned. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"What did it mean... the same way as before?" Logan muttered, confusion swirling in his mind. "Before? When? Did it mistake me for someone else? And why was it so angry?"
Many questions rose in his mind but before his thoughts could spiral any further...
Thousands of space rifts tore through the void...
From some emerged ferocious monsters, like the one he fought in the dungeons.
From others came savage beasts that looked similar to Raphael’s transformed form.
From several stepped humans. But not all were the same. Some of them were clad in unfamiliar armor. Though they resembled humans, they bore pointed ears and an otherworldly aura.
From many more, humans started appearing. But this group was even stranger. All of them were short. Very short. And they were wielding bizarre, intricately forged weapons.
From certain rifts descended towering giants, beings as tall as mountains, shaped like men yet forged entirely from metal, their bodies gleaming like living steel.
The battlefield was no longer singular. It had become a convergence of worlds.
Logan stood at the center.
Not among tens or hundreds. Not even among thousands. He stood surrounded by millions.
The crowd stretched endlessly in every direction — a sea of enemies with no visible end. And they weren’t done spawning from the rifts...
And then...
It began.
Without a single warning, all of them moved at once. The void exploded into motion.
A spear ripped through space toward Logan, slicing the air with a sharp, lethal whistle.
"It’s fast," Logan murmured.
He twisted sharply, forcing his body aside at the last possible moment. The spear missed its mark, but its tip still grazed his shoulder.
Blood sprayed into the air.
Before he could even stabilize his footing...
A blazing fireball slammed into him from the side.
Boom!
The impact hurled him away like a rag doll.
He hadn’t even begun to fall...
When a colossal hammer descended from above.
The force crushed him into the ground, the impact shattering the earth beneath him and burying him in debris.
A mountain-like metal giant stood towering above, its massive arm lifting the hammer once more.
The enemies surged toward Logan. From above, it looked like a black swarm of bees converging upon a single prey.
Slowly, the free space was disappearing.
But suddenly...
A hum! A suffocating pressure descended upon them. Their momentum faltered. Some slowed. Some staggered. Some even dropped to their knees as if crushed by an invisible force.
At the center of it all, a tiny orange spark flickered into existence above Logan.
In the next instant...
It expanded. The spark swelled into a blazing sphere. Then detonated. A massive explosion tore outward, vaporizing the enemies closest to him. Their bodies turned to charred silhouettes before disintegrating into ash that scattered into the void.
And then...
The sky roared.
Lightning thundered across the heavens, bolts crashing down as divine fury unleashed.
Each strike split the battlefield apart.
In mere seconds, a fifty-meter radius circle centered on Logan was completely cleared.
Smoke curled upward from the scorched ground.
Logan slowly rose from within the crater.
Blood trickled from the corner of his lips. He wiped it away with the back of his hand. His breathing was steady. But his eyes were cold.
"Why does this feel more like a death trap... than a trial?" he muttered.
He lifted his gaze. The enemies still stretched endlessly toward the horizon.
An ocean without a shore. His jaw tightened.
He took a step.
Then another.
In the endless tide of darkness, he looked like a lone beacon of light.
With a faint shimmer, Audrey flew out from the spatial ring and landed firmly in his grasp. His fingers tightened around the hilt with calm precision.
His other hand extended outward. Frost gathered instantly. An ice sword condensed into existence, its blade gleaming with a chilling brilliance.
Then...
He moved.
Like a phantom.
His figure blurred, leaving afterimages in its wake as twin blades flashed relentlessly. Each swing carved through enemies, reducing their numbers in swift, merciless arcs.
Where he passed, bodies fell. The battlefield turned into a storm of steel and frost.
Meanwhile... outside the cave.
The white-haired man stood silently above Logan, who was seated in a lotus position, eyes closed.
"He still can’t remember me," the female voice from earlier echoed softly from within again.
The white-haired man exhaled faintly. "Perhaps he isn’t the one after all," he replied calmly.
"No." The female voice returned immediately, firm and certain. "He is."
A brief pause followed.
"He’s simply slacking off," she continued coldly. "I will make him pay heavily for that... when he finally remembers."
Her voice felt enraged and playful both at once.
