Chapter 2085: Chapter 2085: Summer Hall Extra (287)

Evelyn Taylor dropped those words and didn’t turn back despite Olivia Smith calling after her.

After recuperating in the hospital for a week, Olivia Smith was officially arrested by the police.

Charged with intentional injury.

The treatment for Helen Melendy at that time was documented; given the circumstances then, the injuries were extremely serious. Ultimately, Olivia was sentenced to ten years in prison.

On the day Olivia was sentenced, not a single member of the Smith Family went. Olivia’s plan to have Thomas Smith plead for her was ultimately unsuccessful.

Carter Quincy was caught early on, charged with intentionally swapping the children, and inciting others to poison Helen Melendy.

Finally, with charges of intentional injury and malicious child trafficking, she was sentenced to twenty years in prison, serving multiple sentences concurrently.

From then on, Olivia completely faded out of the Smith Family’s lives.

"Second Brother."

That day, Thomas Smith came downstairs and suddenly heard Helen Melendy call him like that. He was slightly taken aback.

Ever since Helen returned to the Smith Family, they hadn’t been on good terms, and she had never called him Second Brother with such sincerity.

This made Thomas reflect on his previous demeanor towards her, making him feel even guiltier.

With an unnatural expression, he walked downstairs, trying to make himself look gentler and even managed a smile.

However, due to his awkwardness, the smile appeared quite out of place.

"Is there anything you need?"

He asked.

Seeing Helen take a small bag out from the bag beside her and hand it to him, she said:

"It’s getting chilly. I knitted this for you, thick enough to keep you warm. Give it a try."

Seeing that Helen had specially knitted something for him, Thomas was taken aback, almost feeling flattered.

Initially unsure of how to apologize to her, Helen had already taken the first step towards reconciliation, which made Thomas feel even more embarrassed.

"Th-thank you."

"You’re welcome."

Evelyn, seeing her son and daughter getting along, was naturally pleased. Looking at the bag in Thomas’s hand, she curiously said:

"Take it out and see what your sister knitted for you."

"Alright."

Full of anticipation, Thomas pulled out the item Helen had knitted for him.

The next moment, the expectant smile on his face froze.

He had expected to pull out a scarf that his sister knitted by hand, but unexpectedly, it was a hat... and it was green.

Not only Thomas’s smile froze, but Evelyn’s expression froze as well.

Harry Hall knew his wife was going to give Thomas a handmade gift. He, too, thought it would be a scarf, but it turned out to be a green hat.

Immediately, a look of awkwardness appeared on his face.

Thomas stared at the green hat for a while. Just when everyone thought he would explode in anger, he merely smiled helplessly.

Stuffing the hat back into the bag, he still said to Helen, "Thank you, I will keep it safe."

"You’re welcome."

No trace of anger appeared on Thomas’s face; instead, he displayed a look of complete acceptance, not minding the obviously mocking green hat gifted by Helen.

Just treating it as a very ordinary gift.

"It’s almost time for work. Do you want to come with me, Thomas?"

Edward Smith stood up from the sofa, subtly stepping in to defuse the situation for his younger brother.

"Sure."

Thomas nodded in agreement, "Mom, sister, brother-in-law, we’re heading out now."
