Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 168: Annabelle Linton, No One Can Save You Today
Annabelle Linton must have used incredible force; her palm was completely numb.
Leona Grant’s head snapped to the side from the blow.
’Is she hitting me for another man?’
’Now that she has someone else, she won’t even let me touch her, is that it?!’
A raging inferno blazed in Leona Grant’s eyes, as if he wanted to burn the whole world down.
He stared at Annabelle Linton, fierce and dangerous, and roared, "Which hand?!"
Annabelle Linton gave him a light, dismissive glance. The corners of her lips curved into a cold smile, both bewitching and deadly.
Then, another slap, even harder and more vicious, followed!
With a heart-stopping SLAP— the very air seemed to freeze solid.
Annabelle Linton looked at him without expression, a wicked smile playing on her lips. "Both of them."
"Excellent!"
Leona Grant swept Annabelle Linton into his arms and threw her into the car. His face was unnaturally frigid. He let out a chilling laugh, his expression a mask of pure rage and danger.
"Annabelle Linton, no one can save you today! I’m going to chop off those audacious hands of yours and make you understand the price of provoking me!"
Sitting in the car, Annabelle Linton showed no sign of panic. She coolly uttered a single word: "Whatever."
Leona Grant laughed twice more in fury, then got into the car and slammed the door shut.
The sports car shot off like a rocket.
「On the balcony—」
Watching the car speed away, the butler asked with concern, "Master, will the Young Madam be all right?"
"She’ll be fine."
Patrick Grant replied faintly, his gaze on the distant horizon growing dim and obscure. After a long moment, he murmured, "It’s about time they had a child..."
...
「In the car.」
Leona Grant drove with a grim expression.
He glanced at Annabelle Linton in the rearview mirror.
Annabelle Linton had her arms crossed over her chest, resting with her eyes closed. A faint, cold aura enveloped her, giving her an air of inviolable sanctity.
The corner of Leona Grant’s mouth twitched into a sarcastic smirk.
’Soon, I’ll have her on her knees, begging for mercy!’
After an unknown amount of time, the car came to a stop.
"Get out!" Leona Grant opened his door, got out, and coldly slammed it shut.
Annabelle Linton opened her eyes and got out. An empty lot behind a villa came into view.
The moment Annabelle Linton stepped out, several bodyguards seized her by the arms and forced her into a chair in front of a table.
Annabelle Linton was forced to sit, and both of her hands were immediately pinned to the table.
Two bodyguards held her hands down, while a large group of others surrounded her from behind.
A corner of Annabelle Linton’s mouth twitched, speechless. She showed no emotion. "Just chopping off a pair of hands. Is all this fanfare really necessary?"
Annabelle Linton watched him lazily, not a single ripple of emotion in her eyes.
She truly felt nothing; it wasn’t an act or a pretense.
Leona Grant took off his suit jacket, revealing a white dress shirt. He rolled up his sleeves and looked down at Annabelle Linton condescendingly. "Scared yet? You should have expected this outcome the moment you dared to lay a hand on me. Did you really think I would tolerate you striking my face again and again?"
"Scared?" Annabelle Linton scoffed. "I fear nothing. I’ve never known what it means to be scared. Why don’t you show me what fear feels like today?"
"Annabelle Linton, you’re just being stubborn to the bitter end!"
Annabelle Linton closed her eyes and said impatiently, "Enough with the useless talk. If you’re going to do it, do it quickly."
Leona Grant stared at the woman before him, his eyes deep and unreadable.
He had never met a woman so unafraid of death.
His gaze fell on her injured knees.
’It seemed... last time, when she fell from upstairs, I never saw her show any fear or even mention the pain.’
’Could it be? Is she really not afraid to die?’
